Very cool! My grandfather came from Northern Scotland in 1908 when he was a very young boy. I grew up with my grandparents visiting their small farm in the Hollers of South East Ohio. They taught me how to live of the land much like this. I"m now 54 and still very much Bush Crafting, hunting, fishing, trapping, and living of the land much like our Ancestors! Thanks for taking us on your journeys! I hope to make it back to Scotland one day!
I need to find some friends like these guys. None of my reenactor Friends like to do treks, so just me in my historical clothes running round the woods
@@SmoothGefixt True, but the one you are showing recirculated that gases. The is what the tube in the frame do. They pull the unburnt gases from the top of the chamber and pull them back down to feed back into the flame. It was really a huge advancement for lanterns, making them brighter and much more efficient. Yes there were oil lamps before this one, but that particular model was a game changer.
just a idea...we in the colonies being scotts highland transplants used baking soda and wood ash to make our breads and corn or wheat cakes rise? just a thought.
This feels like the first vlog ever made by forest elves and I’m all here for it.
A legendary collaboration.

I am so excited! I had wondered if you guys were going to do another video together!
Have watched most of this with a smile on my face, remembering summer holidays going camping with mates for the weekend. Happy days

Oil Lamp, that particular design was 1862
