People spent their life time searching for a wolf encounter, yet alone filming it.... I have a beautiful wilderness where i live, but seeing yours makes me jealous. First time I am watching your content. Great stuff man, thank you. Subb
Thanks for watching and its great to have you onboard. The sad part about My Wilderness is that it is not very big. Little oasises among farmed fields. I have spend countless Hours in the early morning and evening waiting for the wolfes, getting to know them and their paths etc to try to optimize my chances. But still i must say that encounters like this one here is very rare. Where is your Wilderness? All the best
@@RAMUNI-VikingI live in southwestern part of Serbia. Small town called Prijepolje. (once I've heard in some documentary, that big part of people here have lots percentage of Scandinavia DNA) Its a mountain side country with an altitude of 1200 m above sea level on average. Greatest peak on Jadovnik mountain is 1733m, which is some 20km + from me. From there i can see 2/3 of Serbia, also a good part of Montenegro and Albanian mountains can be seen, the Prokletije and Durmitor. I understand now how you managed to film them, you must have been very happy when you did it. National Geographic should hear about you.
Oh gorgeous shots you got there! The aerial shots, the framing of the flower with you in the background. And the wildlife! Love the majestic deer, and I laughed out loud when the fox sprang from the bush! And what a privilege to be seeing the wolves like that. I'm envious! 😄 Looks like it was a wonderful trip, thank you for sharing it with us. I hope it was as relaxing, enjoyable and rejuvenating as it looked! All the best my friend!
Thank you my friend. Im happy to hear you appreciate the cinematic part of it:) its something i strive for. The trip was really good and relaxing.but the Mosquitos kept me from finding good sleep as I spend most of the night trying to keep my head covered under the leather hoodie. But still its good for the soul to be out so its a fair trade. All the best:)
The forest is so beautiful and how lucky can a person get to see wolves in there natural habitat wow what a beautiful outing thank you for shearing that....
Thank you. Its a Lovely place but sadly not as remote as one could wish. We live too close to each other in Denmark. Luck as a big part in seing the wolfes but hard work and a lot if time and effort is definately raising the odds:) thanks for watching
I am very new to this channel but I am wishing you well deserved success. I am slowly watching through all of your videos and they have helped me very much with my anxiety and to keep calm. Much love and joy from Miami, Florida, USA.

Thank you so much for this kind and friendly comment. I highly appreciate your feedback and im very happy to hear that you enjoyed the video and took the time to write me:) All the best
thank you so much:) you are most welcome. I have met this excact same wolf pack a few times. at this one always stays behind and stares me down till he is sure the rest is safely past. then he blinks and runs off. It surely is magical
You are a gifted film maker and story teller my friend; you are a part of your surroundings, not apart from them like most... your hands are truly in the soil.
Hello from northern Illinois. Very nice video. I like your gear. The wolves were great. I’ve never encountered a wolf that way before, but while backpacking on Isle Royale National Park, on Lake Superior, I did have the pleasure of hearing several wolves singing to each other. I subscribed and will definitely enjoy watching more of your videos. Keep up the good work 😊
Thank you Steven. Im happy you enjoyed the video. Hearing the wolfes howling is a great Experience. Really connect you with something primal. Thanks for watching and taking the time to write
Das ist genau das was ich machen möchte. Großartiges Video, tolle Stimmung und erst die Landschaft 😮... Ein Traum. Vielen Dank dafür und viele Grüße aus dem Münsterland in Deutschland 👋
Epic scenery! Really great content brother! Very peaceful as well, but the best part for me was when that wolf was just staring at the camera, that was breathtaking!
Thank you:) I have had that Experience 3 times with what i believe is the same pack. The leder stares me down untill the Others have passed safely back into the forest. Experiences like that sists in the system for a long time aften wards. All the best
I really like this. I am actively taking mental notes on how you made, set up, and used that tarp/tent. There were a few safety details I really hope you did differently off camera, like hanging your extra food and the deliciously steak-smelling trencher up off the ground for the night away from wildlife, but you pay so much attention to details in the rest of the things you do, I'll assume you did. I thought the bannock/pancake thing looked acceptable, but when you fried it in butter and pulled out the black jar of honey, I felt the best kind of envy. As for your silent neighbors, Wolves are special, and they are no fools. I've seen coyotes, and a bear that was fishing in a river, but never wolves. Thank you for sharing this.
Hello. Thank you for this friendly and positive comment. We do not have bears here and the wolfes stays very well clear of People. So i did not do anything Else for safety here. If i am in an area with wild boar i do take more care. I was once followed for several hundred meters by 2 wild boars during the Winter time. I think they smelled the Banana in my backpack. The wolfes Are thriving in denmark these years. And there is so much deer and sadly also sheep, so they have plenty of other and easier food Sources. It might chance in the future but for now there is No safety issue here. But thanks for the feedback and it surely made me reflect. I appreciate that:)
What a wonderful video, has the same vibe of the videos from marobud when their TH-cam channel was still active. Can't wait for more of these or other projects of yours
That wolf sighting is magical. The way he stared directly at you. I'm not sure if I could have kept the camera this steady. Last Sunday I was hiking and nearly shat my pants when a roebuck jumped across the trail just 10 meters in front of me. 😅 Still was a beautiful moment though.
It sure was. I have seen this pack a few times during the last 8 months. They are siblings (i believe) from last year. This one always stays behind and keeps contact untill the Others have passed. Then he blinks and runs off. You see them as well i the video about light Sources:)
.. Peaceful, tranquil, perfect. ... You Scandi guys have it sussed. ... I find the the same tranquility on the Scottish islands. ... Great video pal, I really enjoyed that. ..
First visit to your channel. Interesting, traditional Viking camping. Big wolves. Good job on drone and vid footage. Much enjoyed. I was a Viking in another life long ago. Nomad Mountain Man from Kentucky USA Next time
This is great! Very quiet and relaxing. You really showcased the wilderness well. Do you have links to the music you used in the video? I know which website you used, but I was wondering about the specific music tracks. They sound familiar for some reason.
Hello Daniel. Thank you for the feedback. I Will look at it when i get back to the editing board in a few weeks. Then i can try and update the video description:)
That's great man! Thank you! I also watched your video on harvesting, milling grain and making bread last night. Very good stuff! Looking forward to seeing more your videos.
Absolutely beautiful video with stunning scenery and impressive cinematography. It was really awesome seeing a lot of your methods/projects come together in use here. What is the wrap you're using for your food around 18:41? Is that birch bark maybe coated in wax or something? Super interested in the natural food storage containers you show in this one! If you have another video explaining it, please let me know! We're still working through all of them. Keep up the amazing work!!
Hello Elizabeth:) thanks for the kind words. The wrap is linen fabric coated in beeswax. Not historically correct but they work like a charm. I Will make a video in the future about all my kitchen gear and food transportation equipment and show it all to you:)
What a way to reconnect with the land itself. Beautiful work here - and enjoy your videos always. Great site you had there and I'm sure quite comfortable.
Outstanding, peaceful, beautiful nature! I doubt if I’ll get there, but where approximately were you? I still love getting up in the mountains around here on Vancouver Island. No foxes, but wolves bears, & cougars, loads of dear, elk, & raccoons, cute little mink too! What scares me the most, are the plentiful mosquitoes! For some reason, after watching your video, I’m hungry! Stay well, smile often! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Mike. Its the middle of Jutland, Denmark. I wish i could go hiking on vancouver Island one Day:) but here none of the animals wants to kill you so its safe to camp out. The wolfs Will stay clear and there is plenty of deer for them that is easy for the picking. Best Greetings. Rasmus
Thank you Douglas. I made the tarp from heavy linen fabric and fitted it with bolt rope to Mimic a small sail. Is roughly 2,5m x 2,5meters. Sadly i dont have a video of making it.
Wonderful Video Rasmus really enjoyed it, thank you for that! The drinking bottle made out of clay, is it your selmade work or did you get it from somewhere? I'd really love to know where you got it from😊
Hello:) it is a historical replica based on finds from Kaupang in Viking age Norway and Dorestad in Frisia (i believe). It was made by Krohns Kruk. Should turn up on Google. Its a historical cheramist in Sweden.
A really beautiful place and your video is extremely well done. I just subscribed to your channel. One question, can wolves pose any danger or is there no risk in camping with the pack nearby?
Hello. Thanks for subscribing and taking the time to write. The wolfes here Are extremely shy, they dont want contact and they have plenty of easy food Sources in the form of deers. So i am not worried at All about the wolfes. I sometimes hike in an area with wild boar. Those i respect at alot and would not want too close to my camp. There is No recorded attacks from Wolves to humans in the wild in Europe for the last 20+ years i believe. But it is a hot topic and the presence of wolfes does something to many People. Both in a good or a bad way. That being said. The wolfes Are in this particular area and that evening i Saw old tracks in the valley, but the specific footage of the wolfes in this video is shot some days earlier in a forest nearby. Sometimes im very lucky on my viking trips to see some wildlife but then the camera lense is not optimal and I make a lot of noise making camp etc. So i often do scouting trips before the trip itself in camo with a telephoto lense and record some nature:)
Thank you:) it was almost too Hot here too. I was eaten alive by mosquitos so i had to snug deep down i my woolen sleepingbag and I was too warm for the night. So morning startet early at 4.15. But lucky i got so see the mist just before daybreak
Beautiful video 25 minutes and I enjoyed every second, looking at my phone under my canvas tarp, bad weather here, it seems to be autumn at times. Beautiful Viking equipment Rasmus, that birch backpack also works brilliantly as a table. I bet you made that tarp yourself too, how big is it? And that size knife, what style of knife is it, it is not scandi grind but flat grind, did you make it yourself or did you buy it? I wish we could do this in the Netherlands, just wild camping, but unfortunately, I may have to emigrate to Denmark, we don't live that far apart. 😉 I will definitely watch this video again, thanks for sharing Rasmus!
Thank you. Good to hear you Are out and I Hope the weather improves. The backpack has worked so well for quiet some years now and it doubles very well as a small table. I sewed the tarp myself from linen and added boltrope and loops to Mimic a small sail. Its 2,5x2,5 meters Ca. Its a heavy bundle with wool blankets and sheepskin inside but it works. The knife handle was forged by a great friend and master blacksmith and put together by another friend as a gift to a third friend. It was then passed un to me a while back. We dont live too far apart here neither and its difficult to find "remote" here as well. Even here sometimes a car in the distance or a chainsw far off can ruin the magic. Sadly. Enjoy your trip
Its a simple flatbread from whole grain flour i milled my self, a bit of salt and water. I have videos on the milling and more about flour and bread making on on my channel if you are interested:) thanks for watching
Wow! Your commitment to historical accuracy is not only impressive but fascinating to see - beautiful gear! The cinematography was superb! I loved the wildlife shots too! This was a stirring work of art from every perspective. So glad to have come across your channel tonight and shall certainly sub. Just 2 questions: 1) What was the tinder material you were using to strike the sparks onto? Bark? 2) Why were all those trees cut down in the little valley you were in? Thank you so much for your time. Congratulations on this beautiful work!
Hello. Im glad you found the channel. Thanks for watching and for taking the time to write this kind and positive comment. I highly appreciate that. Its a dried tinder fungus. Amadou. It catches a spark very well. And then birch bark with All its oils. The clearing was cut during the cold war as a plan to hide military gear in the woods from satelite photos i believe. Its close to a military flight path. But the plan was never executed and now its kept for recreative area. I Hope this answers your questions. Else feel free to write again. All the best
Me too. And I often see them when im out in the woods. But far away or a very fast glimpse (I spend a lot of time in the forest trying to be at the right place at the right time). But to see them a little closer and for a longer time is very fortunate.
This is a fine reenactment of Viking life and apparel.
Thank you so much James

Sehr cooles Video.
Danke sehr:)
That’s a really nice place to spend some time. Makes me jealous. I want to do the same thing it’s just to hot here.
What was the pancake bread type thing for breakfast?
Its a simple flatbread from whole grain flour i milled my self, a bit of salt and water. I have videos on the milling and more about flour and bread making on on my channel if you are interested:) thanks for watching

Bracie szacun 👍💪🖐️🌛🌞🌜
Thank you brother:)
Wow! Your commitment to historical accuracy is not only impressive but fascinating to see - beautiful gear! The cinematography was superb! I loved the wildlife shots too! This was a stirring work of art from every perspective. So glad to have come across your channel tonight and shall certainly sub.
Just 2 questions:
1) What was the tinder material you were using to strike the sparks onto?

Hello:) thank you:)
All filming is done with canon 80d. For the wildlife I have a Tamron150-600mm lense.
@@RAMUNI-Viking thank you for your fast response 😊 so beautiful, i love wolves 😊
Me too. And I often see them when im out in the woods. But far away or a very fast glimpse (I spend a lot of time in the forest trying to be at the right place at the right time). But to see them a little closer and for a longer time is very fortunate.
@@RAMUNI-Viking here in Germany it is almost impossible to see wolves in the nature 😔
