I personally use SCO for exobiology. It makes decent credits, I am increasing my rank and I get to see really beautiful scenery. So what that the planet is 80 000 Ls away, SCO gets me there.
What. 23 Subscribers? Well you just earned another one. Great video. I was here for the Low Temperature Diamonds and my eyes are still sore from all that reflected sunlight off that ice ring. Never knew I would have to wear shades indoors.
I blame the Thargoid war. People just dont have the inspiration to go on holiday to see a blue planet anymore especially when loved ones were exterminated by the creepy crawlies. 🙃
Great video and overview of the new FSD drives. Only thing I would add in that they help a lot with the rep grind for Imp and Fed. The delivery loops are faster and more engaging, but there are also a lot more viable routes since the stations can be a lot farther out.
Just yesterday I logged on abruptly because I forgot I took a full board at Robigo like 12ish hours prior. One already failed, another had 9min and one had 13min, everything else was safe. I hustled that run to Sothis & back. I even screwed up my landing procedure a little bit and still had time left over, last I checked before docking it had 2min on the clock, which probably put me sub 30 seconds from failing. Wouldn't be the first time I've pulled that off... I've definitely noticed that the missions being offered vary quite widely, haven't made the same deduction about time spent per session yet. I'll have to give that a test. I've found that it's more like the rng is based on something, and you happen to be in either a good spot or a funk depending on where the rng wants to go.
You can shave another minute off that if you dropped a heatsink going around that mid way star. I drop in, hug star, let heat go up until fsd cooldown is over and drop sink and hit hyperspace jump.
The Robigo run is how I bought my first fleet carrier two years ago. That and painite mining. Of course now you have more choices like doing exobiology for example.
Have you tried the run to Hausers Reach in an Anaconda? The sco might make the longer sc distance trivial, plus the more cabins the anaconda can take might equal similar or more credits/materials per hour.
One use I put my old FSDs to (when Engineered FSD V1's replaced them) was a fleet of prison taxi DBX's. In the past I've taken part in some operations which required dying and being sent to a prison ship multiple times, so I bought some Diamondback Explorers, and put my old, fully engineered FSD's in them, and called them to the prison ship so each time I died, I could get back to the operation more quickly than then ship(s) I was using for the operation. I am rather annoyed that I'm going to have to engineer an FSD on some of my ships for the third time, but c'est la vie.
Thanks for this, was just double checking my numbers, I made 98 M in 43 mins, so theres your 100 M/hour as I took a few mats, then I SCO'd over to Hauser (5 mins) and jumped in my Beluga to make a further 58 M which came out at 100 M/hour haha, Im sure it can be done more efficiently, but maybe 110-120M/hour or just above is more like it if you dont fancy a break.... but maybe for the change of scenery and entertainment of evading the police at Hauser.
Wow... as someone who has just over 100 hours into Elite: Dangerous, I only understood at most half of what you were talking about. It really makes me feel like this game requires *way* too much outside knowledge/research to really be enjoyable.
What if instead of running Robigo back to back you alternated between Robigo and Hauser's reach, the only downside to using Hauser's is the supercruise time but that could probably be mitigated with the SCO boost no?
I like Robigo to dust off my skills and obviously buy something. its relaxing and thats mostly why I play Elite. yet after a certain amount of runs I have to stop. its fun but can be a chore to fast. thanks for the information.
Robigo mines is decent safe money but better money is a combat with a long range beam laser and a very large xeno hunting group, or a finance Friday. Last time I participated in one I made about 1.4 billion credits which admittedly was probably a good 6 hours of playtime but even so I was at least playing the game enjoying myself. That being said there's definitely something to be said for having a very low stakes low key money making run to do in the "background" while watching videos or thinking about other things.
+1 subscriber. Your current subscriber count does not do you justice by a very long shot if this is the quality level of your content. This is good stuff. I've been away from ED for a while, and this is exactly the kind of stuff I was looking for. I started playing at the tail end of the LTD-rush, and Robigo quickly became my goto for the three reasons you mentioned. A lot of ED TH-camrs never mention the Imperial rank or the high level mats you can get out there. Heck, I've even seen some making tutorials flying out of Hauser's Reach. Amateurs.
It's more profitable in a Python, and large stations are much more stressful when hauling wanted passengers. If the Orca were a medium ship, it would be better than both, but as a Large ship, the Orca has no real place in any passenger fleet. The problems with the Beluga are that with more cabins you run down missions even faster, you can't land a Beluga on medium stations like Robigo Mines, and you have to get good at avoiding the scan in the mail slot if you want to reliably take the high paying Wanted passengers.
Not LTDs, not robigo. My carrier was funded by the botched community goal for collecting data for Winters and Hudson, whenever that was. 4.2 billion for 6 hours on Jameson's farm xD

100% the whole mass manager regression dance just about every update is precisely why the new drives were spec'ed to supersede them.

Low temp diamonds was a high point for elite, ngl glad I made my money then
Back in the day i used to run robigo for hours without hardly ever having to wait for a mission board refresh.

Nonsense. Robigo was nerfed years ago, before Odyssey.
@@semibiotic Umm, read properly lol
HUMANITY FIRST
I played during painite era, right after they nerfed LTDs
switched to robigo after core mining became the only type that made good money

you basically need external websites, some guides and a good will to grind..a lot
There are numerous in game tools. Certainly still a learning curve, a notable one, but not technically any need to go outside of game.
Good insight.
I decided to test the new FSD on Кrait in a research fit. It was necessary to fly 300,000 ls... Dried instantly, without flying even 100,000 ls
How does the SC speed to fuel use ratio change? I'm wondering if this enables a longer max DC distance

Could also do the beluga robigo runs too.

Yes, but for Robigo Runs you usually want that module slot for passenger cabins....
