  • In this mega comparo, we will find out the best compact-SUV currently on sale in India.
We have the 2023 Tata Nexon facelift, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, the Mahindra XUV300 TurboSport, the Hyundai Venue N Line, the Kia Sonet, the Nissan Magnite and the Renault Kiger competing.
The Tata Nexon has received a comprehensive update with a facelift including new features but it's also more expensive than before. The Maruti Suzuki Brezza offers great ride quality, good fuel efficiency, but doesn't deliver in the thrill of driving department. The XUV300 TurboSport gets a new powertrain, without the option of an automatic and feels the most archaic of the lot. The Hyundai Venue N Line and Kia Sonet are basically the same car, with different personalities. And the Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger are the entry level VFMs with little to brag about. Our Ed Sirish Chandran tells you everything that you need to know about these C-SUVs - how these drive, handle, their comfort level and features and also answers a very important question. Is the Tata Nexon still the clear king of this segment? Watch the video to find out.

Differences between the Kiger and Magnite:
    1. Kiger designed to appeal to a younger buyer. Magnite is a more mature design.
    2. Kiger interior is on the sportier side. Magnite interior more simpler
    3. Kiger has got features such as Esc, Hill hold, TPMS etc added in the 2023 model update, while the dead pedal has been deleted. In 2022 Kiger got the cruise control system. Above mentioned features were standard in the Magnite since launch. 2022 model year update saw the Magnite get a trumpet horn and shark fin antenna.
    4. Kiger features missing in Magnite : 4 airbags in top spec trim, dual gloveboxes and storage space under armrest and led tail lamps and drive modes. Magnite features missing in Kiger: 360 camera, Full led headlamps and indicators and fog lamps, boot lamp and better dome light and better placed switches for cruise control and head lamp leveller and JBL sound system in tech pack.
    5. Renault has more showrooms and service centres compared to Nissan.

I own a brezza 2022 from past one year and I must say this is a super duper Suv instead the best maruti i can say . I had driven it around ghats , highways and the stability and ride quality is just amazing. Headlight are brilliant with great ac. when i calculated its tank to tank mileage on a 1500 kms trip, it gave me an astonishing 20-21 Kmpl on highways in which the highlight part was 99 kms hill stretch. its a refined engine and it actually gives vibe of being a car from mid size Suv segment. Infact it looks bigger than taigun and kushaq. yes for the price tag , it misses on ventilated seats, TPMS, rain sensing wipers. Also I must say its a safe car and with this new iteration i expect it to score 5 stars in Bharat ncap

I am also a Brezza owner pre facelift. I am getting close to 12.5kmpl in Trivandrum city traffic and in highways around 17 kmpl tankful to tankful n both cases.
Now regarding calling these FWD machines S.. U.. V s is a real shame.
I d really call them pseudo SUVs.
2nd is I recently tried out Skoda Slavia of my friend for a week as we went for a 1 month visit to Holland.
I mean it has 200 mm GC. Its powerful, its rich n quality, comfort, and far far better than any f pseudo suvs n market.
The biggest issue was engine was not that efficient n city. I cud get only 10.5 tankful n ma city ans n highway it was 15.xx. But that said that car completely changed ma mind about cars.
Like our market is FOOLISH. We just buy a trend.. I am really sad that more companies r not making sedans in India and super angry with GOI which makes awful rules like sub 4m rule

Kiger ✨ is really a tiger✨ no doubt the turbo engine of kiger perform more then sufficient power👍 have best in segment boot space even more then ecosports, nexon, breeza etc best in segment ground clearance 205 mm , have very decent cabin space even more then its competitors like nexon, venue, breeza, xuv300 etc & if i talk about the looks of kiger🫡 hats of to reno.... Its amazing & kiger provide maximum features like keyless entry, 8 inches touch screen, tyre pressure monitoring, cooled glove box, rear ac winds & rear hand rest which is countable in luxurious accessories 🫡 & if we talk about safety provide by reno which is also very impressive because kiger get 4⭐ rating in global ncap crash test ✨ so... We can say its a safe car also.... & Reno provide 4 airbags in kiger so... We can say kiger is really value for money & very decent product of Renault ✨ so... Everyone should go for this beast also.... In this segment this is the only compact suv which provide alot of things according to its price segment 🫡 definitely everyone should consider this beautiful beast✨

The drive modes are effective in Kia and not a gimmick. I drive the turbo automatic, and when mode is changed from sand to water for example, you can feel the same amount of pressure on the pedal will keep the car in lower gears, higher rpms and increased torque for going over wet streets or semi flooded city roads. To the video maker- Dont expect g wagon type capability in a compact suv.

Loved the design of the new nexon.. it’s a great car to look at but not to live with.. the quality of parts.. the consistency of panel gaps.. the more you go in details the more you feel it lacks quality control.. and when it comes to driving it it’s still the old nexon.. planted but too noisy and unrefined.. and now that the mid variant costs more than a grand vitara sigma i don’t feel its the sensible choice.. you can go a segment higher in that price.. unless you’re getting the fearless variant which costs almost 15L you don’t appreciate the segment first features it offers and its just an unrefined car which costs alot now😅

Xuv300 is a great mechanical beast. Be it the Diesel with its 300Nm torque or the turbo sport with its 130ps of power
One point not sure it was convered in this video. Only car to have all 4 disc brakes in this segment
So its not a makeup kit kind of thing like how other manufacturers do, adding bigger touchscreen etc. While changing nothing mechanically. Touchscreens can be added later, but not excellent suspension, great engine and good brakes
Nexon also has a excellent and powerful 4 cylinder Diesel engine but the petrol is not good.
Brezza base variant is a great option. But not worth above 10Lakh for that engine.
Unfortunately though the general public is running after features/makeup kit, instead of solid mechanical aspects

      @@evoIndia yeah 👍🏻
Actually I couldn't win this same argument with my wife back in March. Altroz XZ DCA vs XUV300 w4 Diesel, both around 11Lakhs. Enough said right?
The DCA is struggling on steep slopes with everyone on board, with its low torque. Even like steep speed breakers and bottom scrapes. Overtakes on two lane roads, you know how you get stuck behind a truck or bus and you need to make a quick overtake, we really need the torque man. This groans heavily as I need to fully press it and people complain now about the noise as well as you need to keep in higher rpms most times due to low torque. Automatic is added convenience other times and the features are good, but in my other car. S cross Diesel(used one), I installed polk audio for 17k and that elevates the experience to a whole new level and the 200Nm torque is ample for most scenarios and so is the 180mm GC. The plan was originally to sell S cross on Exchange but i rejected it and decided to retain this.

@@nathandsouza7104 Diesel I would say. Unless you have a lot of money to spend on Petrol
Someone does not get a XUV300 to drive slow right. You drive slow, you get decent mileage in petrol and excellent mileage in Diesel
You drive fast, you get decent mileage in Diesel and very poor mileage in Petrol
That's your deciding factor right there between petrol and diesel
The turbo petrol though is available from 9.3L ex showroom. That's sincerely amazing. Nothing comes close to that performance at that price (except the c3 turbo)
Diesel w4 used to cost 11L on road

From a technical point, First for me nexon petrol Is overpriced for that 1.2 turbo non gdi, the venue or Kia 1.0 petrol turbo gdi is a gem of all the turbo gdis here, xuv 300 turbo sport goes neck and neck with the Venue gdi, and xuv 300 turbo sport petrol is a torque monster, the question is how reliable are these three cylinder turbos?, longterm users will choose brezza 1.5 NA or the diesels, one point is with the 2027 diesel target, the government policy issue am skeptic to buy diesel now, the venue diesel comes with a Vgt though for a better low end without turbo lag, each brand has their own plus and minus, hyundai, Suzuki, Kia for reliability, tata, Mahindra for build handling, the Nissan brothers are the cheapest here. So thats why venue, brezza and nexon sells equally, including the latest fronx booster jet

I would encourage remaining cars also to make such budget car with all safety.
I encourage tata but they are taking more money than the product value and using same old mechanism and our side making make up to the cars.
As an Indian save money is almost priority so go for Nissan magnate who were planning to buy
Lastly, I would thanks to Nissan company making such a great car.

True. Though buying XUV 300 now makes no sense unless you want performance and safety with no bootspace and very outdated dashboard. If one is searching for a Diesel option, then the Nexon Diesel engine is pretty fine as well in this segment if you want safety and top class tech. Though considering the amount of ECU, Rusting, electronical issues that the older gens of nexon have faced, (even the new ones were spotted with some quality issues), Brezza boasts the best package. Venues safety is highly doubted, or else its more VFM than Brezza and Nexon which are quite Ovepriced in top end models, though it lacks behind in Ride quality.

I own a maruti and a volkswagen. My maruti suzuki grand vitara ac vent, glossy black paint got damaged after i sprayed the car air freshner directly on the vents. Instead of painting, i changed the vent on my grand vitara, which cost me just 340rupees much cheaperthan painting it. Maruti shares parts with many models, so ventors make it very cheap. The availability of parts is also easy. In the case of my volkswagen parts are 4 times more expensive. Abs sensor goes every now and then and it costs 4000rs. Similarly suspension lower arm, steering rack , egr valve all got replaced . Everything happened just after warranty expired. I waited for 3 months for some of the parts to come. In an year i spend around 70000rs on repair. Now im selling it and buying a small car. People buy maruti because of cheap maintenance, parts availability on time, mileage and showroom availability all over india.
