- The Citroen C3 Turbo has one of the nicest 1.2-litre petrol engines. But how does it match up against the most powerful of the 1.2s? We've lined it up the Citroen alongside a Mahindra XUV 300 TurboSport to get the answer.

Already knew C3 would win due to lighter weight. However it performed better than expectations. Good engine, good dynamics, but comes with not so tech loaded package.
Get the i20 n line with the 6 speed manual gearbox that's recently launched.

Though C3 Turbo engine is peppy, vibrations from this 3 cylinder engine makes it difficult to drive beyond 100 kmph.
@@pklalu I don't think so, the vibrations aren't too much, the engine is very refined for a 3 cylinder and has no problem driving above 100 kmph, the only negative is the body roll.......
Even though i heard c3 turbo perfomance was great, never expected this much
Full full gun bullet hi hai c3 turbo... kabhi kisi time overtake karna ho highway par sochna nahi padta mujhe... and average highway par 17 ki di hai,abhi 2500 km hi chali hai, first service bhi nahi hui, log bolte hain 2 services ke baad aur increase ho jaati hai mileage...dont know yet...best feature is, auto stop engine at red lights, neutral kar do, engine stopps, jab 1 sec baki ho lights ka, clutch dabao start, ya stearing hilao start... it also saves fuel in city lights a lot... sp at 90 sec kind of lights.
Impossible for any vehicle in this segment to beat the C3 Turbo engine.. A no nonsense car with all the necessary features and missed out on the fancy gimmick features 💯🔥 Ppl commenting about crash test rating, it was in LatinNCAP because of 2 airbags and lack of safety equipments.. Most cars which scored 5 ⭐ in GNCAP will score 0..
They will not send the car for bharat ncap tests brother which is a huge downer. This company has a good product but they are not doing enough to win over us Indian customers. Amazing drag performance though. I expected a closer competition but that was a huge gap.
@@NikhilKumarM Yes, because of missing 6 airbags, other safety features like ISOFIX child mounts, etc due to which the crash test rating will be low.. But the build quality and body shell is strong enough as observed in the accidents 👌 But that aint enough to win the heart of Indian customers!
All new i20nline MANUAL should easily beat citron c3

@@nishalshah2498not possible. Even the 1 ltr TSI will have hard time beating C3's 1.2 Turbo Puretech.
It's turbos are smaller and sproll faster than both the TSI and GDI of the Koreans. By the time they get started C3 is already in its mind range and pulling for the top end.
C3 has the best engines around. Bought it few days back
Hope to god you have the timing chain version in your car's engine. If you have the timing belt, then sell your car off at the earliest. The timing belt version of the car's engine, which is immersed in engine oil, is being recalled all over Europe. Rubber or even synthetic rubber like neoprene and nitrile does not get along well with engine oil in the long run. The belt will last you a max of, thirty thousand km before it disintegrates, destroying one of the best engines we have in Bhaarath. The timing chain version of the same engine released in 2024 will last you a minimum of three lakh km. Best of luck.

@@akshatverma6889 the engine might be good but quality of the car and reliability is really traumatizing for a daily driver. I bought a c5 aircross when launched, after 5 months it started to become a headache. Just sold it Few months ago

@@naveenkumarjbyju7915 I'm not sure about safety. The Latin car was a bummer this year although last car was good. European versions do well. Indian car is yet to be tested, and it is an Indian made car, so could be a different spec.
Explain about the tech please. The shine variant seems to have it all.
Really impressed by the C3's performance. I feel like it fills the void that Polo left when it was discontinued. A proper car for the enthusiasts. However the lack of a tachometer is a bit of an issue. And Citroen's reliability, safety and ASS are still in question. And their future in India is also uncertain. I really hope that they somehow figure their way out of the trouble they are in.

in general the XUV n the nexon petrols are some of the slower in the segment while the C3 is sort of reasonably quick for its weight and numbers.
Wouldn't swapping the drivers for race 2 to rule out any driving technique effects on the results?

I would like to see a drag race between fronx turbo and c3 aircross.
FronX will definitely win if the drive is taking place in the direction of wind flow.👍 Its a great car. It give good mileage also if its moving in direction of wind.

Btw brother Fronx kerb weight is 1060 kg and Citroen C3 kerb weight is 1055 kg, think before you speak 🗣️.
No the Fronx 1 ltr turbo engine is not at all powerful. Only a small gear ratio can save it.
which I highly doubt they have given in the pursuit of mileage.
@@NikhilMaurya10 Brother watch a motrobeam video about Fronx, it can easily attain 0-100 km/h at just 9.35 seconds, so that's why I highly doubt about the race between Fronx MT Turbo vs Citroen C3 MT Turbo which one gonna wins the drag.

Was waiting for jason cammissa to start his legendary exposition as C3 breaks the barrier with a frame pause.
I got C3 Shine Turbo variant 4 months back, it now even gets TPMS, ESP, HSA, EIASS for the same price making it very much value for money now
Esp the connected app experience. Tells everything on app, location, parking spot, tpms, geo fencing, overspeed alert sitting at home, door open alert etc, you ll know exactly when mechanic started its service or examining at centre while yourself sitting at home. Harsh braking, rough acceleration etc in analysis of every trip, todays trip, past trips with overspeeding records etc, fuel burned while idling, trip fuel economy. I got lucky when i booked, shine got launched 2 months later so i took that.
Power to Weight and Torque to Weight are the key factor here...

I thought it will be a close drag race but never thought that the c3 would win! Now i am even more happy that i am a c3 turbo owner, even though i was sceptical when i purchased my car and the following month the xuv300 turbosport was launched but the doubts have been cleared

@@HemantVermaGenuine yes compared to Maruti and Hyundai cars it is hard. You can say it's clutch feels like a diesel engines clutch. However the NA C3 has a little soft clutch. If you live near a bumper to bumper traffic area and frequently spend more than 20 minutes in traffic I suggest you wait for Automatic variant of this car. However I don't think the Auto would be as fun to drive as this manual is.

Yes, it's worth buying.
For the price i can't find any reason to complain.
The ride is best in its class and a class above.
Dynamics are also excellent after kushaq/ taigun,C3 aircross is the best handler, you feel proper connection with the car behind the wheels unlike other cars in the segment, Elevate is good but not close to C3 aircross.
Please take test drive... im sure you wont need to ask this question. Now even automatic is avl in c3 aircross which also had very good reviews on youtube, with increase in power due to a high quality torque converter in it... though to me manual has more engaging fun drive...
I am in the market for a new car and have my eyes on the C3. But no reviewer has seen the Shine variant and keeps chanting about lack of features while appreciating the mechanics of the car. The enthusiasts think it is the hot hatch to get at a price less than i20N and comments are not all good. What's the catch with the car??
I've test driven it and the second gear acceleration was absolutely crazy.
Performance and ride quality excellent
But mileage below 25km/Hr could drop to 6-7Km/Ltr range. There is a huge diffrence in mileage compared to the mileage when you drive at a constant speed of 70km/Hr on highways were you get 20Km

Amused by the comments. The only reason c3 won is because of its weight which comes at a compromise of safety. People here are boasting c3's engine without understanding this is what amuses me. The same engine in c3 aircross is quite slow with a quarter mile time of 17.9 seconds

Try the same drag race with XUV300 diesel with 300nm torque and same 110 HP. The initial pull is so good that it will maintain the lead

@@NikhilMaurya10exactly same, i get 12 in city traffic atleast, i think auto stop engine at red lights saves a lot of fuel... for me, at 90 sec lights. On highway i get 17. Customer support is avl by phone call but off course my agency and service centre are 70 km away at chandigarh and panchkula, or by app, even sos button in app sends location to customer service. Havnt used it though.
Weight difference is massive.
According to price c3 is great option for customer although 300 is five star rating Indian brand.heavier waight than C3.
C3 is a good car but it's lack safety (0 star Safety rating in Latin ncap) vs 5 star for XUV 300 ( In Gncap)

Top speed is limited by software in c3 at 150 or 160 i think. Not sure.

The Citroen turbo is one of the best engines available in the market in terms of sheer power and driving pleasure. If they bump up and add a few necessary features then the C3 and C3 aircross will sell like hotcakes.

Yeah if only u are drag racing 100 m this is good, safety wise chose Mahindra or Tata. Of course will wait for ncap but it seems light weight. I would prefer a more solid car like Mahindra, but in terms of mainly city use and greater space C3 seems ideal value.

Problem with XUV 300 is huge weight 1300 kg. Problem with C3 is zero stars in safety rating.
Its got two stars in Latin Ncap. Not in GNCAP. please stop commenting BS. Please stop spreading BS.
If people like you spreads such BS , an average Joe will believe it and it spreads like wild fire affecting sales of Citroen. And thus India will be getting less competitive products since Suzuki japan and Koreans have the most market share. This makes other global giants to believe that investment in India is not worthy. Thus India will lose FDI and competitive products for domestic consumption.
So you may please try to reduce the market share of Suzuki and Koreans and let support Renault Nissan Honda MG Citroen Jeep.
Its not an issue if domestic brands like Tata or Mahindra is having a majority market share in India because money circulation happens within India. So give your support to Tata and Mahindra and at the same time support the brands with lesser market share in India(not suzuki Toyota and Koreans)
In Latin NCAP every car with 2 airbags scored 0 including Ford and Hyundai Tucson.

C3 got less weight and shorter gear shifts, in short run definately a winner, in longer run there would have been a different picture.
Who says it got shorter gear. It goes 93+ in the second gear itself 3rd takes you to 135. If it had shorter gears it would have done 0-100 under 9 seconds.
