When I installed these, the largest difference I noticed was better throttle response off the line and after coming out of a turn. Plus the lessening of that rubberband effect you mentioned.
Post install, here are my tips for the carrier: -on the upward facing side of the torque solutions bushings, take a small, angled chunk out of the edge. I couldn’t figure out how to get it on, but after taking the chunk out I was able to hit it with a mallet and after that it went in with ease. Make sure you cake it in grease. -use a mallet to smack the bottom, get the non-aftermarket side in first. -on the aftermarket side, tighten the bolt slightly. I noticed when I was trying to get the bushings in, it had a tendency to fall back out. -Jack up just before the driveshaft and after the differential. The carrier won’t line up unless the driveshaft isn’t sagging. If you Jack up the differential it will continue to sag. Jack it up just in front of where the carrier goes and it’ll hold everything where it needs to be so the bolts line up nicely. Hope this helps
i did pretty much the same on mine. a different version of the upper bushings, and replaced the lower diff mount completely, and it did much to get rid of the subie herky jerky, much more than the pitch stop , trans mount, and shift improver kit, which all did a little, but no where near as much as the rear bushings. i still wasnt 100% sold with mine, but i went all in and put in a driveshaftshop crabon fiber driveshaft, and the was the last piece of the puzzle, getting rid of the hanger bearing was huge in driveability, and smoothness.
Crazy how much the rear bushings improved drivability considering it’s the cheapest out of all the other supporting mods. I may have to look into upgrading the driveshaft just to get a little more out of the car. Thanks for the info!
This is an absolute must, after watching your video I pulled the trigger on it, and I agree with how you described it. Huge difference in the shifting. More smooth engagement and assurance when going into gear. No more loose suspension feeling. Thanks for giving us your time making your vids. God bless
I just ordered a set. I think one of the things I like best about your channel and reviews is how your build has been a thoughtful and gradual process. I like doing all the small things because I feel like the net gain from them is substantial overall and helps reinforce the vehicle. Great vid, Ron. Thanks!
I installed a set of beat rush ones on my STI and the benefit to me was reduced 4 to 5 shift grinds. A good and easy mod. i also did the diff brace at the same time. Good video as always!
Heck yeah big dawg I just put me some on order, and they are on sale so thank for the info! It’s crazy how a small low cost mod can change the ride quality so much!
What difference does the Cusco make in your opinion? I have the white line inserts installed on the stock carrier, and I’m just trying to see whether it is worth it to upgrade to this or torque solution one.
@@CG-rb4xo The Cusco Diff carrier is a lot bigger so it’s going to be more sturdier, stronger and allow less movement of the drivetrain. Stiffens things up.
Nice sounding car btw. Like your choice of mods, about to do this diff insert set on my '17 WRX. Also picked up a set of rear subframe inserts. You need to change those springs man, ha, hah. 🤘
Good question that I honestly don’t know the answer to. I don’t remember if the other bracket is smaller than the other but that would be my best guess.
@@ronfromportland gotcha. Well I mean seems like all positive reviews so I guess there no issues it just seem odd to me, besides that I think I’m screwed because I have a 2020 and the diff set up is a little different than 2019 and under so it kinda looks like the bushings above the diff won’t fit because I don’t see any slots in the OEM bushing but I’ll know for sure later today when I Life the car up. I’m not finding the Perrin version for some reason. If you’re referring to the Perrin rear differential lockdown bushings then that is a different part.
Another great informational vid man. Did you switch out your Grimmspeed BPV? Noticed the sound differences and was curious, since I'm waiting for mine.
Great observation! Yes, I swapped it back to the Nameless Performance BPV since it was having some issues. Long story short, I sent it back to Grimmspeed for inspection and I just got it back the other day. I explained a little more in detail in this video th-cam.com/video/vQfbtw_FPLk/w-d-xo.html
Dude. I feel like me and you do the same upgrades at the same time. I did these about a month ago along with my Whiteline rear sway bar and Perrin polyurethane bushings. I had to use silicone spray in the diff carrier to get them to insert even though they are prelubricated. I love the difference the rear made! @brisky_wrx
Nice, glad to hear it made a huge difference! Can’t believe I only recently discovered these. It should have been done years ago! I had a feeling that was you on IG!

I can not overstate how useful having a vise is.
The diff carrier inserts will go right in with 1000 lbs of force.

How'd you break the bolts on the diff carrier? The diff mount inserts were much easier. But the diff carrier bolts just won't budge on my hatch.
