Dude I met Matt after a show in Houston about a month ago! He's the coolest fuckin guy man he took a pic with me and signed my copy of Snakes For The Divine, Sleep's Holy Mountain, Kalas, and Asbestos Death - Dejection Unclean. Not to mention I was directly in front of him during the show so he blew my fuckin ear drums out my ass! Truly an unforgettable experience!! \m/

when I saw High On Fire live last year, he wasn't using the Marshall. just the 2 Soldano heads with 4 cabs. plus, he had way more pedals than just the tuner, the delay, and the A/B-Y box. I think I recall him using an MXR EQ, his famous D.A.M Sonic Titan, a Phase 90, and a few other pedals that I can't recall at the moment.
Well on a lot of tube amps you can just crank the volume to get a massive amount of tube distortion. Some people use pedals others don't. I use three different kinds of distortion on my orange. The dirty channel, clean channel cranked and then cranked clean channel with an overdrive pedal on. Just a matter of taste really!
@@michaelturner6150 as far as I know, he just uses amp distortion and cranking with like 6 heads or something, but he probably has a fuzz/overdrive somewhere in the mix, i feel i get close to his tone when I use a very transparent overdrive on a clean channel and then use a big muff in combination, the od rounds out the fuzz
well on their European tour he mostly used Blackstar hears and cabs. and yeah, much more pedals. but he has awesome sound all the time, the only thing that never changes about his rig:)
