I put wood screws diagonally into the cross pieces and screws straight into the 2x2s. You could put more screws every 5-6 inches and glue the wood together for more stability. If that doesn't fix it, try adding more thick cross pieces that are screwed in tightly. The whole bed might wobble if it is not flat to the surface that it is on or the surface that it is on is not level. The bed could also be built crooked. You could trim the one or two legs a little bit to make it fit better on an uneven surface or add a block of wood below it to shim it up.

Think I would remove the box springs so the bed wouldn’t be so high up.
That's a good idea as long as you add more cross pieces to support the mattress. They can be made of 2x4 instead of 2x8.

How did you join the panels together? I just built a frame and it is so wobbly.

You could also put a piece of 2x4 that reaches the top and bottom of each corner and screw them to each corner of the exterior pieces.
