- COME THRIFTING WITH ME IN PARIS! Sorry for the all CAPS, I'm just really excited to show y'all my favorite thrifting spots in this Paris Vlog :D To be honest I was really bummed when I moved to Paris from Florida because I couldn't find any cheap thrift shops like Goodwill. They were all overpriced and overcrowded. The place I'm going to be taking you to in the 18th is more of a treasure chest. As an American expat in Paris it takes a while to find the best places, so I hope you all enjoy these little tip offs :) I'm also showing you guys the insides of the dressing room, the French store ambiance and a little try on haul. I found some cool 90 style gems and some cool pieces and it really made the rainy day feel brighter. It was also cool to show you guys some footage of my neighborhood in the East of Paris! i only go to emmaus bc as you said french thrift stores have been taken by hipsters and i don't think many people give clothes to theses stores anymore here
I usually go to guerrisol and emmaus but sometimes I go in a thrift shop near hotel de ville called Freepstar cause they have a bin where everything is 1 euro
The Purple Palace I love the Guerissol shops too and also Kilo shop in Avenue Saint Michel

Those overalls look like the typical overalls that young people wear in spain for popular parties. Usually a group of friends will buy overalls of the same color and then everybody writes and paints on them, and voilá, you have your party outfit!

I have been thrifting for 18 years (in the U.S.) and 90% of my clothes, shoes, and home decor is thrifted. I totally enjoyed seeing someone thrifting in another country!

ça c'est sûr! Quand j'entends souvent dans des vidéos d'expat que les Français sont un peu froids de prime abord et mettent longtemps avant de devenir amis avec qqn, j'ai l'impression qu'on ne parle pas de ma culture! Mais j'imagine que les Parisiens sont comme ça! Chez moi (dans le Sud, Vaucluse), on parle 10 minutes à la caissière juste parce qu'il fait du vent et c'est important de le noter lol!

Those overalls reminded me of my school where we have this thing if you're a senior you would get white overalls and design them to make it your own. So seniors would wear them to school on game days.

I'm not sure if it's the same case as in Spain. But I noticed in Spain (American living in Spain for 3 years) thrift shops here are so overpriced like, they market it as some kind of vintage shop. 😂 Anyways, I usually go to flea markets! They have really good used clothes. I once found G. Armani jeans from the 80s and I got them down from 8€ to 4€. If you're in the EU I highly recommend going to flea markets. :)

It has even happed here in the states. Well until very recently. Nothing is happening here right now. It is a couple of years since you posted this. Pandemic lock down. No thrifting going on right now. I hope this finds my sisters & brothers around the world, in good health
I adore you and your channel. My father lives in Paris and I've grown up visiting him twice a year. I also lived in the city when I was 19 for three months. I'm 26 now. Paris (and France) is such a huge part of who I am. French was my first language but after my mother and I moved back to the United States I never kept up and now I'm stuck with Elementary level french capabilities (still better than nothing, though!). You have truly inspired me to continue learning French as I have decided, for what feels like the millionth time, to tackle the language again. But this time I really feel like I can do it, in time, and with practice. I love thrifting in Paris. Thank you for sharing this. I didn't get to visit this Summer and I am missing it terribly.

wow sikkens is a dutch paint company, i wonder how that piece of clothing ended up in paris! also, i’m visiting paris next week and allready made a list of thrift shops i want to check out. so i liked watching this video, especially seeing how cheap this particular thrift store is! thanks xx
i renovated my house last year and Sikkens is actually very easy to find in professional painting stores! (and I live in the South of France)
Everything I have comes from thrift stores and flea markets. That's where you find the best of the best! Love the overalls.

Wow ! I remember going to one in Le Marais and bought a military style jacket for 10 euros and my friend got a fur coat for 30 euros! It's been a long time since I was in Paris, I think it's changed a lot. Such a nice vid :)

Loved this video! Being an artist I love to be unique in how I present. My style changes from day to day and I've been thrifting for decades, (since I was a young teen), that gives you an idea of my age. Anyway you gave really good tips! I will be living in the south of France soon, (near Montélimar), and know of one thrift store there, (thanks to my sis-in-law). Good to know about this chain Guerrisol. If they don't have one in Montélimar, maybe there's one in Avignon, Nîmes, or another good sized city in the south. I love your choices, and think you might have another income stream as a model. hey the view onto the rues / avenues was fun already , typical haven't been there in a long while, oh and the white overall that didn't fit well , sikkens is a paint plant brand making that a man's working gear fit.
I thrift at the big market on my town that set up every Sunday morning. It was a hit-or-miss because sometimes I didnt get anything but the other time when I finally bought something, I was really ecstatic. So after I reached home, I washed it thoroughly and wore it in the following day!

I'm in vancouver, canada and thrifting (in the city) is all over the place, but to name the common haunts ... main st., gastown, the flea market on terminal. When i find a treasure i always think the gods are smiling down on me 😊 ... like my luck is picking up.

Fun fact : these overall were probably a student party outfit ! I have the same overall but in pink. Each school or degree have a different color (it’s not in every school but a lot of medical and healthcare degree have one). Everyone got one in my school, we all write and draw on it and wear it to parties and events.
