- Welcome to the second episode in my Fashion film series, "Girls of Winter”! This is a seasonal series I've created where I imagine and tell the stories of five fictional characters based on their unique style. In today’s episode, I partnered up with Kina and Tam, styling sweaters from their winter collection with my own thrifted pieces to create five dreamy & fun looks! The idea is to create an interesting narrative but also to inspire you to use fashion as a form of creative self expression when getting dressed in the morning. (read original statement down below).

What’s the story? it’s the question i ask myself when I get dressed in the morning. I look at fashion as a way to live out some imaginary life. fictional characters which are inspired by a place, a time, an attitude; Old faded photographs or someone on the train. Who is that girl? what are her obstacles and dreams? Today you’re getting an outfit video, yes, but also a sort of character study and glance inside my mind. These are the five girls I’ve imagined, the girls of Winter and their lives....
I always get asked how I found confidence to wear what I do/ confidence in my personal style. I think by trying out many different aesthetics and making a fun game of putting together an outfit, you are able to slip in and out of styles--from grunge to artsy to retro or even more chill looks with out feeling like it defines you. That's also what's so sweet about thrifting/vintage--you can buy cute things that have a story and for cheap! When I lived in the states, my favorite thrift shop was goodwill, but now in Paris, it's Emmaus and guerrisol. I had so much fun doing this so stay tuned for girls of Spring!

🌟Winter is a time where many of us experience “un coup de barre” as we say in French. Sadness, solitude and sometimes even illness creeps in. So for this episode, I wanted to be mindful in creating characters that were going through challenges themselves and hopefully inspire you who are also experiencing similar things. The idea of this series is to use narrative as a tool to make room for experimentation and creative self expression in Fashion. Of course these are fictional characters-but this much is true, with out the grey and cold of winter the tender moments of color and warmth that eventually seep through would be less of a sweet release. I'm going through a point in my life where I'm having a very hard time figuring out who I am. I find that with a lot of youtubers or influencers i see them and I just want to be them or have their life. But when I watch your videos it inspires me to look more into myself and who I am, rather than making me aspire to be you. I love how you convey a real and yet so ethereal picture of beauty in your videos. You don't pretend that there's happiness only, and that life is only beautiful thanks to happiness, instead you show both sides, the sadness, joy, struggles, peace. What's hard in winter here (in Canada) is we have to wear so many layers that you can't see any outfit, except the outer layer with the coat, scarf etc. which has to be warm and that is not always compatible with alluring (can be, but hard at -20C). It's impractical to dress up to go anywhere because you'll ruin the look with having to layer up so much. but making a video inside can be a good occasion 💜❄
Yess! I often ponder about what kind of character I could be channeling when I dress up as my wardrobe is pretty diverse. So fun to see a video like this! Would love to see more
