Oh my! A video of Kathleen thrifting in the city I live in AND her being around the corner from my place AND literally at my boyfriends place. What a treat for my parasocial relationship receptors :0
My favorite joke "I don't really like gray" and immediately falls in love with the charcoal (hehe) sweater vest. They are both different but it did give me a chuckle. I also really liked how it the vest looked over the dress! Glad you had fun!
I am... so amazed your french was that good, because I too studied french all 4 years of high school, and when I went to quebec like a year later I was COMPLETELY useless
Speaking as a Canadian..... Quebecoise is like a WHOLE different dialect. Even in Canadian schools, we typically learn Standard Parisian French and it's *very different* from what you hear in Quebec. So it probably wasn't the fault of your French skills!
omg as someone who loves thrifting in Paris and has started collecting traditional German and Austrian clothing this was quite literally my favourite. Genuinely that black dress is a dream. i hope you can go back to the Marais at some point, that blue kilo shop is known for having more vintage pieces from Japan at low prices and can be really great.
You guys are HARDCORE to go to EUROPE to go thrifting! **bows down** I don't think I could have reigned myself in so well. Especially finding a treasure in Europe, wowsers. You guys done good!
Thank you for taking us with you to Paris and Vienna. I really enjoyed it 😃❤️. But for next time, drop some snacks into your bag. I was feeling a bit peckish. 👍
oh my gosh, loved that Webtoons shoutout! I find so much enjoyment in online webcomics, and I feel like they're never talked about as a great source of entertainment 💕
Hey Kathleen! Great to see you’ve enjoyed your time in Paris and Vienna :) If you want to explore more of Europe, Stockholm has some pretty good public transport as well as some nice second hand shops. And the swimming here is simply magical! But most importantly, you get free water with every meal lol. Just saying! 😉😉
usually in vienna from my experience is that coffee shops dont really have just big glasses of water but like restaurants and everybody else does offer water in like 0.5 liter glasses or so usually with like a 50cent service fee
oh my gosh that grey vest with the mushrooms!!! I would have DIED (and then my ghost would have been wearing that vest forever, so I'd call that a win)
I love my caran dache neocolors! I collect more colors every time I visit the art supply store 😊 Thank you for taking us with you. I now know what part of Paris I want to visit!! Oooo I heard Susie and the Banshees playing in the background at the last vintage store in Austria…bravo Austria 😊
To this is I say: anything is a costume if you believe! Aren't we all just acting every day like functioning human beans ? 😅❤I love the pieces you got!!!
a woman after my own heart, where ever i go on a day out or holiday, i must examine all the charity shops, i love the classic look with a twist, i love your fun videos, for me it is serious business
Fantastic, you were in my adopted country! yeah..yes the brocantes/vide greniers we have been to we have usually got there for 6am to find the good stuff and even by 9am it's all over BUT we have discovered that sometimes there are Brocantes Nocturne that start around 4pm and go on into the evening..my partner;s family come from near Orly airport whilst we now live in Indre. Loved your things, esp the skirt...just beautiful..what a great trip to both countries! Merci BC 🦀🦀🦀
so many thoughts on this video as a viennese person ^^ love the appreciation for my city, it really is the best place to live. also so fun to see you literally go to my go to humana on the street that I used to live on until recently. I've been growing tired of thrifting here because I never find special things, idk how you did that. also always fun to see other people wear our dirndl (traditional dress) as fashion because for me it holds different connotations. and lastly, the jaywalking thing: I never ever heard anyone say that viennese people respect the red light, it's literally the opposite ^^ anyway that was a whole essay haha I really enjoyed the video!
I second the different connotations @traditional austrian garments. They have a bit of a sour taste to them, as they are often worn by people who vote for far right parties, people who have very traditional opinions on things like gay rights or equality or migration, and last but not least, they were very heavily marketed under the 3rd reich. Many openminded, liberal, nice people wear them too, play with the looks, so it's not black and white. But there are those connotations and contexts and I personally like to know a bit about stuff I wear. and yes, no idea where that came from, when there's no police car to be seen, everyone jaywalks, crosses streets wherever they like.
I only got to thrift in Northern Italy so far, and the vintage there is so awesome! Paris and Vienna are definitely on my list of European cities to thrift in.
Once when I was walking across Valencia I saw the cutest lil' vintage shop. The clothes were 70s vibe but a bit on the expensive side. But I managed to spot a gorgeous blue bandana with star constelations on it. I mean come on! And it was so cheap too. Even if I'm not wearing it I have it hung up in my room ❤
If you want more thrifting destinations I highly recommend Reykjavik Iceland. My favorites were Wasteland, Spuutnik, and the Red Cross store. I also found a Missoni sweater, and so many other treasures that I had to sit on my carry-on to close it. Also a great destination for getting in a body of water year round.
In Europe, usually you don't get free water at cafés and restaurants. Sometimes you'll get a tiny glass of water with your coffee, but not everywhere. I'm born and raised in Germany, currently living in Berlin. I've lived in Vienna once, though. One thing I appreciated when I visited the US was the free water and refills!
*camera fell back* "I have fallen and can't get up." I love all of the pieces you collected from your trip. I told my husband and kids, I'm done dressing like a basic human. I want to wear what I want, when I want. If you are always holding on to beautiful articles of clothing and not getting a chance to showcase them off. Do so! We are not afraid no more people!
I visited Vienna for the first time this year and visited a lot of the same shops as you! It was such a true pleasure to see them again and remember the fun I had wandering around on my own and treasure-hunting. I mostly ended up with bright silky blouses! I was impressed by how clean the shops were, too. It’s a gorgeous city!
Maybe a bit too late now, but both in Paris and Vienna it should be really easy to order just water. In Paris, it's "une carafe (d'eau)", in Austria it's "Leitungswasser". (Source: am from Vienna and have been to France twice). Side note, it's so odd seeing stuff like the Viennese subway system and street names in a TH-cam video haha.
the louie zong tracks you pick for your videos are soooo good. I've been a long time fan of him and it's neat seeing which songs you pick, great choices
I visited a snowy Vienna in January and picked a green trench coat in a vintage shop I've worn consistently since. My friend also bought a suede western jacket. I visited that larger store with the very organised colour coordinating rails and the coffee shop, I thought it was overpriced for what it was but certainly fun to browse!
proud of you for looking up the drink before ordering it - barista whose boyfriend insists on ordering any and every drink with the word "golden" in it, being surprised it has turmeric in it and then making me drink it also an american who struggled to maintain my usual water intake in europe bc they are not automatically giving everyone a glass of ice water lol
Kathleen! Thank you so much for including us in your travels. That first Kilo Shop you visited, I believe they have another location in Athens Greece! I was there this past September on my honeymoon. I didn’t find anything, but I related so hard to that “it’s too hot to even have the motivation to dig”. 🤣 Your bravery with public transit is admirable. The south hardly utilizes public transit at all. I felt like such a tourist. PS I hope Gus bought that red latex hat 🤣🩷
Love your fashion edge. I shopped thrift when I was in High School, ( a thousand years ago). So exciting to see someone else love it as much as I did. My husband and I were in Vienna, just before Covid. I wasn't brave enough to thrift. Anyway, 👍 on your style choices.
Absolutely adore the big skirt!! 💖 so many fun looks to make, and so fun to twirl around in. Idk why exactly, but it also looks like it would be comfy to chill in a big armchair in a bookstore cafe or walk through a museum or something! If there were pockets, it would be even more perfect 😆💐✨
Your humor is chefs kiss. I just adore watching your videos 😂😂❤❤❤ also I LOVE your bangs and you’re just so dang beautiful. Your trip looked like a blast! Love from Minnesota!
I love Vienna so hard. It's gorgeous. There's tons to do. It's easy to get around. Glad you found some sweet treasures. In related business, the side slits in the edelweiss dress really make it modern. Awesome find!
Hadn’t thrifted in a long time. First time back I found the two things I went in looking for. And I also found a chicken bowl that I absolutely love that matches my vibe. 🐓🐔
I went to London last year on a short study abroad trip and attempted to thrift when I had time lol, it was fun but definitely hit or miss! I did come back with a really fun skirt for only £5. Being used to the giant thrifts in the US, the very small shops were a lot more of a challenge. Cool vintage there too, but definitely pricey! Love the vid as always!💖
I also spent time in London last year and loved the secondhand shopping, both in super affordable charity shops and in somewhat spendier spots like Traid. I got two great charcoal cardigans, a couple of £3 leather belts, and an awesome steampunky kilt-y black linen skirt that I made a nice lady take off a mannequin in Walthamstow near the William Morris Gallery.
Art supplies and weird stuff you say? I’m so here for it! My stinky butt with so be here next week 🍻 I’m really glad you had a good trip, I would love to see more of your artistic creations with your new crayons. 🖍️
Found your channel a few days ago through your collab on Alexa's channel, and then found this video. do YOU want crab?
🦀🦀🦀
crab is very charming! I would have definitely considered crab
CRAB
Did he want crab?
crab 👌
Oh my! A video of Kathleen thrifting in the city I live in AND her being around the corner from my place AND literally at my boyfriends place. What a treat for my parasocial relationship receptors :0
Anyone else save Kathleen’s new videos for a pick me up or a lil treat after doing something productive? Or is it just me😆
Me too 😂
Still buzzin' over that rollerblading shirt we found in Vienna 👏
Truly a great find.
In France, if you want a glass of tap water not evian, ask for "une carafe d'eau". It will be free :)
Yes, the tap water is safe to drink since Mary Kate and Ashley convinced the foreign minister to clean it up.
My favorite was the Missoni sweater vest, for sure. Thanks for wearing a mask in some of the shots in Austria! As a disabled fan, I appreciate it.
Oh to be a little kitty, lovingly swung inside a paper bag
so true, one can only aspire /ᐠ - ˕ -マ Ⳋ

My favorite comfort TH-cam has done it again 💕
I love that you got those crayons as a souvenir! That's such a great idea. I'm so glad you found some good pieces!
oh my gosh, loved that Webtoons shoutout! I find so much enjoyment in online webcomics, and I feel like they're never talked about as a great source of entertainment 💕
Denmark has probably the best trift shops, from what i seen on YT
The linen dress!!! Fits like a dream. Such a classic cut.

The fact that you use Louie Zong as your bg music is the cherry on top of these videos
oh my gosh that grey vest with the mushrooms!!! I would have DIED (and then my ghost would have been wearing that vest forever, so I'd call that a win)
kay, I’ve always scratched my head about the obsession around the kislux book totes and their practicality, but this one is adorable!! Congratulations
winter mouse is definitely the best captain america movie
_| ̄|○ LOL
I was fan girling over your dress the first 51 seconds so much I didn't hear a word you said and had to rewind it.
An einspanner sounds delish!! Espresso with cold whipped cream on top? Yes please! I’m so envious of your travels! Love your channel!!!! 👏🏼 🎨🖌️

Ohhhh, I hope you get to go thrifting in London soon. And that you take us along.
All of the pieces are pure treasures! If I HAD to pick a favourite, I'd pick the dress, but I love them all! ❤
The silky swooshy skirt will be in my dreams! Im in love!!~☆
The buttons on the dress are to die for!!! the skirt!!! aaaaaah I love so much! major layer vibes! great video friend!
The black dress is my favorite and taking off the neck braid thingy was definitely a good call 😅
Buenos Aires. Amazing vintage everywhere. Especially around San Telmo and Recoleta.

I am obsesssssed with that skirt 😍🥲 I would wear it every day I swear 💜
I loved the music in the thrift stores. Safri Duo and Siouxsie and the Banshees ❤
