Saw the title of the video and was petrified for what I might witness happen to that magnificent Falcon... and by that I mean I never doubted you for a second, driver. Top stuff.
Controlled boating up a raging river... They actually were extremely pleasant and driver friendly to "float" around. They had to be. Tyres had limitations far below the cars capabilities. Soft as possible front rubber, and something harder I the back to abuse as required to push the front around the corner... 😊😊😅 I had 3 Falcon XA Coupes, and others. I owned a shock absorber and suspension specialist shop. My XA GT Tribute was my best set up, and I'd give my left leg (it was auto😅) to have her back...
@@TheGreatestRhea in stock form these cars weighed between 2600 and 2800lbs. A fully optioned convertible V8 might tip into the 2900s. American falcons were compact cars. It seems that people who compete and win trophys in drifting competitions can now see where the old school racers knew a thing or two about driving sideways long before they came along.
Falcons are actually a pretty small and light car (even with the V8 they are under 3000 lbs). It would be about 1000 lbs and 2' of length less than your charger. Those 'falcon' lines on the 64 make it look like a much more massive car
Big cars drift easier thanks to a long wheelbase and slow weight transfer. Just ask any volvo 240 fan. The falcon is pretty small compared to your charger.
that beautiful falcon looked like it was on black ice that whole time! so awesome go see a boat like that being driven by a true pro! back in the late 70s my dad drove a falcon delivery wagon that was close to that year and it was a beast! i remember guys would always bug him to sell it. finally in the mid 80s he sold it and he regrets it to this day.
Steer left to turn right - true when your tires are like cut-off wheels compared to the brutal engine power and car weight in this conditions. Great driving!
It was sweet it wasn’t all drifting. It was constantly at the edge of its limits. The goal wasn’t to slide it was to be right on the edge. Way more impressive in my view.
No it's about pedaling the car and being a halfway decent chauffeur which I would like to see modern drivers jump into one of these and understand what it means to drive.!
You know I'm thinking he is solo out there. Was he even supposed to be there ? I'm thinking he was swilling martinni's in the clubhouse and went out on a whimsy
As someone who doesnt watch F1 anymore (after more than 20 years) i have to say that modern F1 would have red flagged this, put a SC up front and then, this is the funny part, would have left the SC out for so long that the drivers complain and switch to intermediate and even dry tyres. The Full Wet Tyre is not used in F1 anymore... But again, i dont watch the Show anymore, yeah, its nothing more than a Show, so i dont care, have fun to whoever is still watching it ; )
Ho provato questa sensazione con la Maserati Ghibli '93... con la differenza che dopo 2 curve ho capito che era meglio farmi passare dalla Panda alle mie spalle 😂

Sam Tordoff giving a masterclass in driving mixed with sailing
More like powered skiing
We just witnessed a master class in driving in the wet.
Glorious. Not carnage, but glorious all the same
Well they do say ‘’Glorious Goodwood’’
the driver is yelling, "YEE-HAW!!" the whole way around
Undoubtedly. Cowabunga !
Wiper not even on, absolute madlad
I feel like I just witnessed something impossible
I mean it wasn't raining
Que bien maneja ese man en el agua! Conoce su máquina perfectamente... Gracias por la clase.
Saw the title of the video and was petrified for what I might witness happen to that magnificent Falcon... and by that I mean I never doubted you for a second, driver. Top stuff.
We were there and it was magnificent.
Am I envious? Not just a little bit! Glad you enjoyed it!
Some serious skills on the part of the driver. Especially in those conditions. Kept it on the track the entire time.
That model of Falcon really does resemble the bird of the same name, very cool.
Very entertaining Mr, Tordoff! 😄
Excellent driving in those conditions 👏
Brilliant driving.
He looks like he's having so much fun out there
Ild say some very skilled driving
Haha this brings the term "boat" to a whole new meaning.

This car weighs about 2800lbs lol.
@@boredguy2935 I don’t care if this is a stripped down race car no way does it weigh less than 3000lbs

@@TheGreatestRhea Nah, they are way lighter than most modern cars and pretty much every electric/hybrid car.
Now THAT'S what I call drifting !!!!!!
Glorious love it this is proper racing
As I am an American.... I think you guys would put it as that was some spot on driving. 😁👍👍. Cheers from America mates
You got that spot on mate 🇬🇧
It seems that people who compete and win trophys in drifting competitions can now see where the old school racers knew a thing or two about driving sideways long before they came along.
That was epic driving!
Carnage??? I call it GLORY and FUN!!!!!!!
The skill of that is a joy to watch
and all that with a Ford steering box - dude's got some fast hands
This is when a large long wheelbase car is a bonus.
Nice to see driver skills on display instead of hi tech car controls.
Who says big cars can't drift. I have a 71 Dodge Charger and I drive it in the rain and wow I feel every inch of that drive

Glad this didn’t match up with the total CLICKBAIT title. This was glorious car control, no carnage whatsoever.
Amazing car... amazing pilot...🏆
old american cars are so sexy...
Aussie XA, XB and XC Coupes were one of the best looking and driving cars in the world around 1971 on
It's not American it's Australian. It's a XP Falcon. Not our fastest of those era of cars. The Phase 3 GTHO was.
@stephenbachman132 Definitely not an XP or any Oz version of a Falcon. It's a North American Falcon. Looks like a Sprint.
@@galactica1980 ours were better
@@stephenbachman132 yup. Sad we don't make em anymore.
I miss my 3 Ford Falcon XA Hardtop Coupes. This was how you drove them hard... wet or dry 😊😊😊😅
Slightly bigger tyres I hope. Fill out the rear arch’s. I’d love a gt351. Favourite is the cobra Xc. I’d be happy with a goss xb special as well.
I didn't see ANY carnage, i DID , however, see some great driving skills!!
Very nice to watch. Motogp goes a similar way in a few years…. No traction control can you believe that !!!
Great driving. Great video. Clickbait title, not great.

Skinny tires are actually better in the wet because you have less of a flat surface to hydroplane.
Legend
Great driving, I can only imagine the huge grin on his face.
There aren't too many guys that can get around the track in two minutes with conditions like that without binning it:)
Magnífico¡ superior .
Now that's a real drive. Respect+
Carnage? This was brilliant!
That was glorious 🍻👏✌🙌
Super!!
Steer left to turn right - true when your tires are like cut-off wheels compared to the brutal engine power and car weight in this conditions. Great driving!
Lovely! Lurid!
Brave driving at the limit!
The Falcon here has a rare advantage of finally having it's abysmal suspension geometry not matter thanks to low grip.
Like a brick on ice. Glorious.
THAT WAS IMPRESSIVE! Wow.
That driver had skill beyond skill. Last person I saw pull that sort of thing off was Keke Rosberg on slicks on a slippery Las Vegas circuit.
Great stuff ❤😊
amazing driver
Superb vehicle control
Great driving man ! Legend !
Outstanding show.
This is such a great channel
some Great Driving indeed !
but that's Ford Power , baby 👌
Greetings from Vancouver Island British Columbia Canada
Great video
FORD
First On Race Day
Ford have never produced a world class racing car...never
Beautiful
Cudos to the mighty Ford Falc.
That is racing at it’s finest
Poetry in Motion
Not a proper use of the word carnage
Right? I'd called it "ballet" ^.^
Magnificent 🫡
Nice drive

“The art of racing in the rain” (better title)
fantastic
Top drift.
Calling a Falcon a "big car" lol..... Only in Europe I guess. Its a 1000lbs less than the Galaxies!! THATS a big car!
Great car - fun & skilled driver!!! Carnage in the title = click bait :-(
Awsome! 👍

Yes the carnage was insane
He's cleaning out all the tyre rubber buildup that has accumulated from years of hot laps
Falcon meet drifting. Enjoy. 😊
Mad skillz yo
Large car? Maybe by UK standards. When this car was in production it was one of the smallest cars available in the North American market.
Bloke can drive 👍
Owned falcons all my life
These cars were described in America as senior compacts and the British are like "Its so big!"
A January drive to work around here.
in wet conditions this car can beat modern f1 cars. haha
No grip was harmed during the the making of this lap.😊
and he never had so much fun
You know I'm thinking he is solo out there. Was he even supposed to be there ? I'm thinking he was swilling martinni's in the clubhouse and went out on a whimsy

Control !!
I’m confused, why doesn’t this channel have full races anymore?
Is this one of the Falcons prepared in period by Bill Shaw?
dope
How bad are tires?
I bet the mini coopers quick in the wet against the big heavy glumsy V8s
Ho provato questa sensazione con la Maserati Ghibli '93... con la differenza che dopo 2 curve ho capito che era meglio farmi passare dalla Panda alle mie spalle 😂
This guy can flat drive
Nice vid but..."Carnage"...WHERE ? Get a thesaurus if you don't know the meaning of descriptive terms.
Carnage?
Less time spent with traction than without.
