Handstand - How to do a Straight Arm Press to handstand tutorial

    Gabriel (Gabo) teaches you how to do a straight arm handstand press. Its a difficult movement that involves your core and shoulder muscles.
    1) It is important to warm up your wrist first 00:42
    2) Need to develop your shoulder strength and core with this workout routine. 4 sets 2:08
    -1 Squeezing an object with straight arms in front of you will raise from a V position on the floor and shift the weight forward to go on your knees. Do this as much as you can with perfect form. 6: 11
    -2 You are going to walk up backwards into a handstand against the wall to a straight line. Hold this for as long as you can. 6:22
    -3 Using a higher platform than the ground but shorter than you preferably waist level. Press with straight arms and try to raise your lower body as much as you can. Do this with maximum effort 6:27
    -4 Walk up the wall into a plank with the wall holding your feet for the maximum amount of time. 6:31
    -5 Hamstring stretch. Reach down with your knees locked for about 1 minute 6:45

      +OfficialBarstarzz I can perform perfectly all the moves except the first one ( the one in v position with the dumble!) i just can´t switch the weight forward :O maybe my feeet are too far? or my lumbar spine not that straight?? :,(

      greta app, You say you can perform all the moves except the first one. Therefor I'm wondering, are you able to straight arm press into a handstand? Is being able to do all these moves sufficient?

    this is actually high quality information! Good stuff to include the wrist prep! Super important so you don't stop your progress because of wrist pain after a month (like me)!

    Great video! One note, I would suggest using a different approach to stretching the hamstrings. If you sit on the floor and then bend over your legs, you are unnecessarily loading your spine which is not so good. If instead you lie flat on your back, lift a straight leg up towards the ceiling and pull it towards you, it will achieve the same goal of stretching the hamstrings, without potential harm to the spine.

      I was about to comment that.
      You can also pull both towards you, just pay attention to keep your hips on the ground at all times. You just have to use a band/towel/something to get to your legs.

    What a fantastic tutorial video. You cover the essential, injury free, process. Brilliant!
    What kind of training (push-up reps, shoulder presses, etc.) should we do in-and-around the technique work? On those days or hours we are not doing the technique moves.
