Hi! I'm new to your channel, just subscribed today. I love miniatures as well, and I love the movie Misery. Your project is going to be so awesome, I love how you planned out the design almost identical to the house in the movie, that was wonderful, and it's the perfect scale of 1:12, which is the most popular dollhouse miniatures scale, and means one inch in dollhouse size equals one foot in real life. Right now I am currently building a large Victorian spooky mansion, because I love Halloween! I wanted something that shows my love of spookiness and the Victorian era, so decided to make a large house, lol. My house began as The Painted Lady dollhouse kit by Real Good Toys, which is a wonderful dollhouse company, the quality of their kits is excellent. I'm doing what's called kitbashing, which is building onto the kit and making the house of my dreams, so it will have four floors instead of the three on the kit. I wanted more rooms, lol. Do you use Facebook? If so, I recommend joining a group called: Haunted, Halloween, Off the Beaten Path Dollhouses, as well as one called Dolls House Projects. These are very helpful and there's so much to see there! Also some channels here on TH-cam, one is Bentley House Minis which show wonderful tutorials on how to build walls and things, look at her Adams Family dollhouse, it's amazing! I can't wait to see progress on your Misery dollhouse, one tip I have is make sure your ceilings are at least 10" in height, it's more practical for this scale and also those older type homes had ceilings that high a lot of the time. I'm looking forward to watching all your other videos, so happy to have found your channel.
Hi! Thanks for that beautiful comment! I'm sorry! I didn't answer earlier. I didn't get any notification for your comment. That's amazing! You obviously know a lot about miniatures. The model of house you're working on looks beautiful (I looked online). What color are you planning using for the exterior? I'm sure, it's going to be spooky! Victorian houses are the best. The little I know about miniatures comes from Ara (Bentley House Mini). 😋 Thanks for the facebook groups. I will definitely check them out. And most of all, thanks for the ceiling!!! I was about to go with a 9" tall ceiling, but now I'll go definitely go with 10"! Thanks again.
@@treatortreat you're welcome! I'm having so much fun building my dollhouse. I'm painting the exterior a very dark midnight blue, so dark it's almost black. There will also be areas where I make stones. All the interior doors, trims, and wooden floors will be a dark walnut stain. There will also be some tile floors. It's a long and tedious job but I enjoy every minute of working on the dollhouse! I'm so glad you follow Ara's channel, it's awesome! I can't wait to see the progress on your Misery dollhouse as you build it, I know it's going to be wonderful!
Awesome! This is going to be such a cool project to watch you create. You weren't kidding when you said you might do some larger scale projects. I personally love watching large projects come together over many weeks, so this will be a great series to watch. Thanks for sharing this experience with us. Looking forward to episode 2!
I'm so glad to know you'll be watching! Thank you so much! I prefer bigger project, too. It's just more interesting in general. It's going to take a while, that's for sure. But I'm prepared for that! 👍
Hi Val, I love the earings. :) I am excited about this, I love this movie. Without giving to much away for those that have not seen it, the nurse is one mean and evil person. Both the actress and the movie won many awards. I am amazed at how much planning you have to do to make this happen. It looks like it is going to be a really fun project and I am excited to take the journey with you!
Hi Mark, thanks! 😁 Oh yes, what a great movie! I want to create something unique. I hope things are going to go well. I know it's going to be a lot of work, and learning. But I'm pretty excited about that! I love challenges. I'm glad you're going to be by my side through that crazy adventure! 🏚️
Hi Val, I'm so excited to see your project come to life. I have seen the movie and can't wait to the house in a miniature version. Take a deep breath when you start. And we're all behind you and the build. ❤😊Linda
This is so different then anything I have seen here on TH-cam, I think it's beyond amazing 👏 🤩. I love that movie, and it's such a cool project to take on. Thank you for your very inspiring channel, I appreciate your unique style.
Thank you! You're so nice. 😽 I got that idea from two other youtube channels. "Billy" : he made the house from "Hocus Pocus". He's using different techniques (and I'm not done watching his videos) but it's cool and relaxing! "Bentley House Mini" (maybe you know her, she is very popular): she made the Addams Family house and she is currently working on the Beetlejuice house. She is a professional, so it can be a bit intimidating watching her work. We will see how my project will turned out. I manly want to have fun and experiment with mediums. Thank you so much to be a part of the journey with me. That's awesome. 💜
This is so amazing Val!! I made a spooky Victorian house model a bit ago, and it was my first from scratch miniature I made as well. I actually made the siding from strips of card stock, and the roof tiles I made with a cricut machine cutting out strips of roofing tiles out of card stock that I layered on the roof, painted and dry brushed. I know yours will turn out great, can’t wait to see more! Also those earrings rock ⚡️
This is awesome! I love this! I'm sure it looks great. 😍 I also made a Victorian house out of cardboard a couple of years ago (using pretty much the same technique as you). I was thinking about showing that house in that video, but I already did in another video. So I did not. But if you want to see it: instagram.com/p/C3SNX_2uG6e/?img_index=1
Wow! What an awesome project!! I can’t wait to see how you do it! Just the pre-layout and plans alone are impressive! I’m not sure I’d ever have enough talent for such an undertaking 😂 Definitely going to have to re-watch the movie!
Oh my...! 🧡 Thank you so much! I'm so happy to know you're excited as I am about this project. I think it's going to be a fun adventure. I also want to show you can do this, even if you have not a lot of experience. 😊
Thanks for letting me know this (I'm a little bit old school). I'm ok with not having the perfect measurements. Making the plans myself helped me understand how each rooms were build. 😅 Thanks for watching!

I’m just picturing a particular, very unforgettable scene(😆!!!) in the movie and imagining how awesome your project is going to be!💥😄
Oh yes! That scene will be so cool to recreate! Haha!
Thanks for watching Fraidy! 🥰

That’s a most interesting project. Looking good❣️👍😍
Thank you, I can't wait to get this project started!
You’re most welcome. 💓🙂
There are photos apps that you can use to translate the measurements of a house/room & it's contents.
Thanks for letting me know this (I'm a little bit old school).
I'm ok with not having the perfect measurements. Making the plans myself helped me understand how each rooms were build. 😅
Thanks for watching!
This is all just a way to gradually build up to doing a miniature of the Overlook hotel, isn't it?
Haha! That would be awesome. 😆
