She turned out amazing!!!! You made her so unique and wonderful, I'm glad you didn't give up! I love to sew, and what the pattern instructions meant by sew seams twice in 1/8" seams is to sew first with a 1/8" seam allowance, then sew another seam 1/8" in from that first seam line. So basically you're getting a 1/4" seam. It's sewn twice in two 1/8" sections to help as a reinforcement, making it stronger with two seam lines, then clip curves and turn right side out. I know you realized this afterward, and I'm glad you didn't start over because you didn't need too, it's too much work to start over!! Your witch turned out wonderful and looks absolutely fine! I love how you made her ears, warts, and embroidered facial features, that makes your doll much better and heirloom quality. Her hair is amazing, I love that it's orange with some blue too! Your fabric choices for her dress and bloomers are darling!!! So much prettier than the choices of the magazine witch. I agree, this is a wonderful project because people can personalize their witch to be just the way they want it, and no one else will have one the same, each one is unique and your very own. I enjoyed watching you make this witch so much, I love her!!
Oh man... I wish you I had you as a subscriber back then! I was so lost with that double-seam instruction. It is so tricky to try stuff for the first time on camera (and on youtube). But I want to be honest with the process even if it means falling sometimes. As you said, It's not bad! And thank you! The ears, the wart and the face were the elements I had the most fun with! Haha! I'm happy you like my little witch!
Thank you!! I'm so glad I followed your advice (and kept going). It turned great in the end! Hopefully, this video gives you a little bit of inspiration for your craftings! Haha, yes! I'm super excited about that! Halloween is on its way.
I love how your witch turned out!!! I never tried making one with a pattern, but I recall making a doll ages ago with nylon stockings (i.e. pantyhose).😁 Thanks for another great video, Val!💖
These are so Fun to make! Any 90’s craft kit I come across at the thrift store I grab & make them at home. ❤-But I truly do love the Halloween ones the best….& I add extra stuff which makes it way longer of a project/but I consider them heirloom pieces. “One day my grandkids will inherit my trinkets 😂”
Yes!!! You're right! 90's Halloween patrons are the best! And as you say, putting your own touch is way more fun! Haha, oh my god! That's so cute. 💜 My kids (2 and 3 years old) are already into Halloween. Hopefully, one day, they will be glad to own my craftings.
You’re most welcome. It’s Okay to be different. I do things differently and some things are on purpose but others are by experimenting and/or accident. I just move on to the next thing because we all have different ways of looking at things. It’s all a part of the learning experience. Have a great day. 🙂
I am really impressed by how this witch turned out. 💜🤩🌟 While I was watching the video I had such a nostalgia, because when I was young... still a child, my mother used to make this kind of stuff, not for Halloween, but for Christmas... for some reason I could smell how the materials smell (the scent)... I think I had some emotional memory lol. Thanks for that 💜
Oh wow, Mughy! 💕 What beautiful memories! Thank you so much, for sharing that magic moment with me. I'm glad this video made you nostalgic. I understand. Sewing reminds me a lot of my grandmother (and all those moments I spent watching her make costumes). All those smells, the warm color of her light, the sound of the sewing machine. We have a lot in common... it's crazy!
Great work, I'm sure you would do well at some of the vendor craft shows we attend. Your vintage style is very much in demand and would be well received, BTW thought the vintage ad break was brilliant!
Oh thank you! I never thought about that. Maybe one day! I wish I had more free time. Haha! Yes! Thanks. Those magazines are full of funny/stupid ads. I love it!
Thank you Virgil! 😘 I know, it was a big project. But that's the types of projects that keep my interest. If it's too easy, it's not fun! Thanks for watching (as usual)! 👻
She's very cute and that was a lot a lot a lot. A lot of work. Oh my God. I guess back in the day Daddy was at work and Mama was at home doing stuff like this. Do they actually still have magazines with ideas like this? I have no idea but I'm curious. Great job! This must have taken weeks to complete.
Thank you! Yes! It was long. Since I can only work on this channel at night (when the kids are asleep), I don't have a lot of time. So it took about a month. It was more than I first expected. But with the editing, the voiceover, and all... it's a lot! Ahah your comment is so funny (about daddy and mama). I don't know about today's magazines, I think they do. But I bought a bunch of 90s magazines, and let me tell you, some of those crafting are horrible. I'm always wondering if people were really making these! Lol! Thanks for watching!

Love this doll!! Wish I’d have kept my old craft magazines. What a fun idea!!
Thanks! I have even more magazines like that. They are so fun.
I'm glad you stuck with her, she came out cute! I love the yarn hair, and your fabric choices for her clothes!
Thank you! You're so nice! 🥰
