I remember seeing that you cannot beat us ad and questioning what I watched. I’m surprised that it trended last year because of a certain game. I seriously can’t get that song out of my head.
The funny part is how a commercial can show a dude's eyes being extracted from his face, and you just fixate on the commercial hyping up Daytona USA instead. (in all seriousness, my older brother once saw that commercial in another video, and he reacted in utter disgust and horror when that happened)
The creepy Nintendo commercial had that weird blocky animation like if it came from the people who did the video for Dire Straits' hit song Money For Nothing and the Weird Al parody with the Beverly Hillbillies.
Are mistaking Virtua Racing with Daytona USA? That Saturn ad was early 1995 and Daytona USA coming to Sega Saturn was extremely impressive and the time...until we played it. The Arcade version is 300K polygons per second at 60FPS and the Saturn can only do a max of 100K polygons per second and Daytona USA ran at 20 FPS on Saturn. Also the Sega Model 2 arcade board the Daytona USA ran on was the very first use of texture filtering and anti aliasing. It's like when Crysis came to consoles not as good as the PC version but just like Crysis, Daytona USA was the most graphically impressive game ever made in 1994 and Sega is saying you can play it at home was mind blowing. The Model 2 was co developed by GE Aerospace. Then you have the Model 3 arcade board co developed by Lockheed Martin and go look up footage of the game "Scud Race" and marvel at the fact Sega was able to put out something that looked that good in 1996.

There's a Nintendo 64 advert of a kid blackmailing his transvestite dad into buying him games!

Game commercials are a weirdly addictive topic for me. I started a whole discord server just to start saving them. lol

I don't know what country it was aired in but that Saturn commercial comes off as a super bowl ad
It probably is an American ad so it wouldn't surprise me
