      Hi Chris. Thanks for reaching out. That is a fun episode. Those Pennsylvania hills are very much in my memories. There is something about bicycle touring that puts me in that perfect mood. I think its the challenges it offers and how tough but obtainable they are as well. Well earned rewards are daily occurrences. And always a bonus to find a gorgeous place to sleep in my tent.

    All the miles and hard climbs and in the end a special reward to have a place to rest away from the storm. The Universe is guiding you to many good places in your journey. Rural Pennsylvania has one of the great and wonderful people from what I remember myself years ago driving through the state. Another great bike touring video. Thank you. 👍👍😊😊

      What up Luigi. Stoked you liked this episode, it's one of my favorites. The end of it with amazing road angel action made for a most memorable time. The episode after might be one of my all time favorites too. Thanks for checking in and sharing your thoughts about it. Yeah, Pennsylvania is top notch and it surprised me in so many ways. I almost lost track of my goals and felt abducted by the state.

    Armstrong Trail is 1 of many trails part of the 'Erie to Pittsburgh Trail' (EPT) system...a concept to connect between those cities. Local communities working hard to acquire abandoned rails to build and enjoy trails. EPT is looked forward to by many...local communities and cyclists wanting a 'through route' to destinations beyond Pittsburgh to the south and Erie (and NY towns) to the north...connecting to other Trail systems like OTET to the west, Washington via GAP & C&O further to the south and NY Empire State Trails to the northeast. Awesome destinations. Bicycle touring.

    You not only have brought us so many wonderful scenic bike trails but have also shown your superb skill at photography and editing. I'm a big fan. This must have been one of the toughest rides you've done, including those in the Rockies. I'm glad you've shown the kindness of some of the people you've met. We need more of this kind of message showing love among people. It helps to counteract all of the negativity we're bombarded with every day. Thank you for bringing a little light into the world.

      That is so kind of you to say, thank you. I am all about deflecting or flat out expelling negative energy from my life. It comes in many shapes and sizes and it's often right under our noses. But for the most part I am a true believer that most people are kind and loving, looking to connect. Yes, these episodes in Pennsylvania are tough ones with insane steep hills. The Appalachians are to be respected and in my case, missed. I look to see more of them this year when I get to tour across once again. Thank you for such a wonderful comment and for watching my channel. You made my day and I am just getting started. Be safe out there.

    Great episode, Diego! Top notch editing and narration, as always.
    I thought Pennsylvania was mostly flat but, oh boy, how wrong I was...
    American people outside big cities are the kindest people I know. They never cease to amaze me.

      The one most important piece of knowledge I've gathered since getting on the road bicycle touring Sid how beautiful we humans are. The media and politics cloud us from seeing us all in the same light. The very majority of people are kind and looking to give a helping hand to someone who looks like needs it

      There are so many road angels out there. One of the things I've learned about humanity since touring is that people, as a majority, are looking to help others when in need. The issue is that we live these lives with our security so well established around us and our routines hat we never allow ourselves to become vulnerable and let others in to help us get out of troubles. Bicycle touring makes this happen often and it makes you play with solution based thinking constantly.

    Thanks for the great video. I rode the Red Bank trail to the Armstrong trail a few years ago. Those are beautiful trails. I need to try on the Clarion-Little Toby Trail this year. Yes.. You should have stayed on the Red Bank Trail to the Armstrong trail..

    • @FlyscoutRyder
      @FlyscoutRyder  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Clarion Little Toby Trail is awesome. Make sure you check out the bridge and if it lines up maybe stay the night there as there is a great camping spot over it. True about the Red Bank Trail but I actually love to climb and that experience, as many other ones like it, became so memorable. The descend into Templeton was legit too. Wait until I get to CO and then you can cringe more with what crazy rides I get myself into.

    Still catching up, but love the fact you went through Western PA, where I grew up. Now living in FL for the last 25 years, I miss those hills. I’m heading up this summer to do the GAP and a few more trails. Redbank Valley might be on the list. Really enjoying your journey.

      The GAP 👍🏼. Yeah I would agree on PA sentiment. I was blown away by the western half of the state of PA. Haven't seen the eastern half yet. PA is wild and beautiful. Historic and quaint with all its towns/villages. Great state to be from. Thanks for checking out the episodes. Be safe out there.

    Great shot with the snake! How did you pull that one off?

    • @FlyscoutRyder
      @FlyscoutRyder  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Great question. I rode past it the first time and it didn't move so I set my camera up and went back around but the next time I rode closer to it and then it scooted off. I see snakes all the time and try this but when I get close to set up the camera they bolt. Im always trying things that don't pan out but this time I got lucky.

    • @FlyscoutRyder
      @FlyscoutRyder  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I would ask your general practitioner because you might just be healthy enough and thinking you aren't. I hope you can do it. Its a beautiful trail and its mostly flat (99.99%) and also protected from wind in most sections. I would start in Lockport, NY as its a low grade descend to Albany.

    • @FlyscoutRyder
      @FlyscoutRyder  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Stacy. Thanks for finding these episodes. I do set the camera up on a small tripod (Joby) to get the ride by shots. I also use a drone to take similar ones at times and if its raining or other times I use a GoPro 9 which has a tripod on its handle to do them as well. I use four cameras to record all the footage. Canon G7X Mark iii, GoPro 8&9, and a DJI Mavic drone.
