    Now that you've done a layout and overview video, it's important to do an ACTUAL step-by-step installation tutorial following your own published directions. I have a 2020 and I'll be performing this procedure and I'd feel alot better about it if you had the video resources available. Thanks.

    My return filter started leaking after 8 months for no apparent reason, and SPE wanted to charge me to replace the O-rings.
    So I took it off and replaced it with S&S. I'm not happy with customer service from SPE, or the Fit and finish of the "intake piping kit". Looking elsewhere for future upgrades !

    I bought this kit from these guys over two (2) years ago. Once I had it installed on my 2018 F350 LIMMITED 6.7 PowerStroke, I was happy to have preformed this simple task of preventative maintenance and never need worry about an expensive fuel system catastrophic failure from these all too common fuel pump failures.

    Will this work with an Airdog or FASS? And is it necessary to have a lift pump if I’m running the SPE system? Also, will this need to be run with a sump like beans dual hole?

    Hey Dan, great video. I plan to order the complete kit, waiting for installation video 1st to see if I want to tackle myself. I was a bit confused on the fuel delivery to pump heads...I'll watch again. If I understand correctly, in stock form, all of the fuel is delivered to the crank case (cc), of the CP4.2, then up to the metering valve for distribution right? Also, your kit divides/splits fuel delivery between the CC and MPROP? My question is this...if the CC is solely lubricated by the incoming fuel, can you risk premature wear by reducing the amount of fuel that's delivered which is the sole method of lubrication? Also, if the pump heads have clean fuel delivered directly to them, how long does the fuel delivered to the CC stay there as its no longer sent to the MPROP/pump heads? I assume back through the return but that normally happens slower hence pressure build up? Sorry, not my intention to doubt, just concerned and want to easy my mind which over thinks everything. Thanks for your time, I hope my question/concern made sense

    • @taithawken4218
      @taithawken4218 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is also my concern. Very interested in getting a kit but curious as to what happens with CC fuel now? Is it just ported back to tank or recirculates threw filter an pump again?

  • @keithrankins963

    I purchased an Ezy Lynk tuner for my 2016 powerstroke. Worked as advertised. I ran on all stages without any issues. A year later i bought this disaster kit, the shop i had installed it warned me that there may be an issue with the kit and tuner. They said if you run on stage 4 it may give you engine codes and stall. I had them install anyway hoping it wouldnt. They were right. I can run on stage 1-3 fine. Stage 4 and i get fuel rail codes. Basically the electric fuel pump in the tank cant keep up. An $800 upgrade if i want the issue to be fixed. From what im hearing, this doesnt happen on every install. I would rather keep the kit on and save my fuel system than run on stage 4. However, i think this is very misleading to customers. Ive spoke to company many times and all they do is blame it on something else. Would i recomend this product? I cant really say, not untill my pump goes out, theres no way to tell if it will work. Anyway guys. Beware if you have tuner and you install. You may need to upgrade pump as well.

    Notice all the videos installing the SPE kit dont have factory CCV's. both the distribution block and the filter block rubbed up against my factory CCV and caused a leak between one of the two. Removing the SPE kit and going to an S&S kit after hearing from the company that they dont take returns on installed parts. Other than the leak, all the parts look to be in good shape. Tech support said Ford installs the fuel lines bent down sometimes. Not sure I believe that but regardless i'm not yielding my factory hard lines to get an aftermarket kit to work. Feel free to contact me if you want a heavily discounted SPE kit in like new condition!

      Lindsey, I would encourage you to head on over to the link below and check out the article on our site to better educate yourself on warranty information. We believe education is a very important tool. As well, the pricing for this kit is on the website. For someone with some mechanical ability and had worked on vehicles before I would say it should take about four hours start to finish. The removal and install of the factory parts is the hardest part of this. Actual installation of the kit once you have everything off the truck needed should be much less than an hour. I will provide a link to another TH-cam video that covers installation with some tricks and tips as well.

    • @tomrazo9224
      @tomrazo9224 ปีที่แล้ว

      My thoughts exactly, I don't see the purpose behind the parallel fuel line. I get the fact that it will be clean filtered fuel going to the pressure reg. valve, but it's not high pressure fuel?

    What about the fuel in the crank case of the pump? Does it flow in and out some other way? If not that fuel that stays in there would definitely get hot

    • @SPEMotorsport
      @SPEMotorsport  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Jacob, fuel is still supplied to and returned from the crank case of the pump, giving the pump a constant fresh supply of fuel that us properly pressurized (as long as your lower pump is doing its job) so it can be regulated and returned through the exo filter incase of a CP4 failure.
      In the event of the failure of the CP4 all returned fuel, and in this case debris, will be routed to the exo filter to limit the debris from cycling through the system and wiping out your fuel cooler, lower pump, injectors, ect. When the truck sees that there is a excess build up of pressure on the return side or limit in supply of fuel you will get a CEL and should immediately pull over and check your exo filter.
      Without our DPK in the event of a CP4 failure there would be nothing except the screen on the volume control valve on top of the CP4 to rely on to stop the debris before it went to your injectors and then returned to the rest of the fuel system.

    Just so everybody out there is aware I purchased this kit. It was missing the diverter valve that goes on top of the fuel pump. I had to wait over a week for this part to come in. I connected everything back together the truck would not start I tried. And try and the vehicle would not start so I took it all apart again went back to the factory connections, leaving the disaster kit laying off to the side started the truck it took about 20 to 30 seconds. The truck fired up. I ran it for about a minute and then went right back and connected the disaster kit And everything ran fine so if this system is open for any time at all, you would have to go back to the factory connections, fuel lines, and everything start the truck and then repeat the process for installing the disaster kit. It cannot be open for more than a few minutes otherwise, for some reason it does not start with a disaster kit Installed.

    Hmm $400 or $10,000 , which is the better deal.. I'll take $400! Since mine is already deleted, might as well do all I can to make it last as long as possible. I think this is a better choice than adding a pre/post-filter/water separator from the other company, no guarantee it won't let DEF or water get past an into the pump.

      ATS from Colorado makes flanges that can be welded to either side of the DPF section of your exhaust system. This allows removal for cleaning.
      Any decent welder or exhaust shop would be able to do the welding for you.

    That return filter is very small. It looks like it would get clogged up quickly. And , if it is teeing together with a pressure release from the rail, is it possible that debris could enter the rail from this filter connection ? And is that little screen capable of withstanding the pressure and flow coming out of the pump and the rail at the same time ? Seems like it might get blown out.
    Why not produce a demonstration with your kit hooked up as well as pressure gauges attached to people could see how it is performing ?

      @@duconce The cp4 is the source of the metal shavings. The pump will simply pump those pieces of metal directly to the injectors. The 2 fuel filters that you are referring to ....they filter the fuel BEFORE it get's to the pump.
