What we want is the real sound back of the Detroit Diesel that everybody knew back then.

MY GOAL IS TO RUN THE ENGINE AT 100% LOAD....100% OF THE TIME

I dont agree with that, at all. #1 I live in new england, during the spring and fall it can be in the 20s during the night and morning, and get up to 80 during the day before it starts to fall again, or it could be 80 all night long, you never know, an you dont even want to know what its like in the winter time....Even if you dont need to build air, starting any engine, esspecially one that big in cold conditions which, anything above zero around here is normal and not "extreme". The engine oil is cold and doesnt want to move, the iron is all cold and potentially more brittle, all the thick oils in the bottom and not moved around yet, the gear oil, hub oil, everything is COLD and hard to move. So not only is it not oiling in a stellar manner, but its making it work harder to do the samething, you know, the "dull knife" thing you were talking about.....any engine, esspecially a diesel and a diesel that large turning equally large and thick oil in other parts of the driveline needs to be up to operating temp before it is building its peak power with less effort, and to potentially cause less wear and tear or damage to anything else related. Id rather spend an extra $500 a year on the extra fuel warming everything up for 30 mins than $20k on a rebuild. Nah, you will never convince me that working a cold engine is ok.

I agree with you 100%, diesels can take abuse but i dont care who makes an engine, thick cold oil wont flow and thus leave wear on parts mainly the big end and main bearings. At full operating temps a diesel can have any load put on it and it wont matter, not when cold. Also when theyre cold all the tolerances arent as tight so theres the potential there for rod knocks to begin, camshaft to rattle around and many more things. Aka let the damned thing warm up, you can deglaze the cylinders once shes hot
