    Awesome video bro. Definitely swaying my purchase decisions. Not a whole lot of videos about 6speed nb short throws. Your video was helpful!!

      Thanks a ton for watching man, really appreciate the words! It’s louder up high in the RPM’s but it feels amazing to shift haha.

      @@dapetdetective I tried on a MX5 NA 1992 and the feeling is very bad, pay attention that the travel of the shifter is super short and some gears like first are very difficult to engage. I tried for 5 minutes and then just wondered why I have replaced the perfect shifter and I repalaced it right away.
      I didn't install such anice shifter like on the video but I guess the feeling is somehow the same in the end.

    I like the short stock one.😄

      Stock one is awesome! I personally prefer the taller ones, less travel too technically haha but both are awesome! Can save $500 not getting this too lol.

    Nice vid! Is this the 19mm or 21mm (sry i might have missed it in the vid)? How has it held up so far?

      @dapetdetective  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You’re good man! Sorry for late reply haha. I went with the 21nm, I believe the stock shifter size is 22 so it fit perfect. Has held up great, no issues besides occasional tightening up for noise. Also the rubber bit tore but was able to get a replacement thru DriftHQ.

      @@dapetdetective I'm back! I recently money-shifted my 6 speed but got lucky, it scared me enough to start looking for different shifter options. Would you say your confidence in shifting is greater with this or stock? thx again homie edit: oh, and with the grinding still after fluid change, was that the motorcraft?

    • @dapetdetective
      @dapetdetective  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @StingrayOfficial welcome back! Lol. I have since sold the car but besides the higher rom rattles, absolutely felt more confident shifting. if I were to do it again, I would probably save up for the CAE shifter which is much stronger design as well as more of a racey/type setup - only down aide is nearly double the cost haha. Will definitely go for one with the next car. Glad yr car survived the money shift! Have deffo done that once or twice myself lolol. Also yes I just got used to it and made sure car was warmed up fully before romping on her. The Ford fluid was just fine for me, they seem to be finicky transmissions in general, strong but picky.

    The knob unscrews on mine, so you probably didn't need to cut much more than just the retainer for the shift boot to go in

    • @dapetdetective
      @dapetdetective  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ahh bummer wish I knew! Mine legit wouldn’t budge hahaha

    How is shifter noise now?
    On mine increased 😢

    • @dapetdetective
      @dapetdetective  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly hasn’t changed too much, there’s actually a hex bolt on the right side of the shifter base that you can tighten which helped my noise a lot whenever it starts to get noisier. Give it a shot!

    Your shifter turret is a bit dry. You should have added transmission fluid to it during your install.

    • @dapetdetective
      @dapetdetective  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Actually with the 6-speeds, there is no shifter turret-only fluid! Just normal filling is good. The 5-speed however do require separate shifter turret filling!

    • @dapetdetective
      @dapetdetective  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jaminguizar4615 you’re good! So the models are typically just trim related so leather/ bose sound systems/ LSD/ 5 or 6 speed. So biggest difference will be whether or not you’ll need a 5 or 6-speed shifter which Drift HQ sells both of!
