I've recently purchased the Lian Li 216 case, and I'm absolutely thrilled with it. Despite my front fans running at full speed due to my motherboard lacking PWM control for them, the case has significantly enhanced the aesthetic of my entire system.
Nice case and review Guv, the only thing that pisses me off with almost all case makers is they don't supply a matching fan for sale to replace the rear fan and have it match without having to flipping change all of them, give us in this case a 140mm fan with both the inner and outer RGB, in white frame to match the front, that we can buy.
Great case, but that said it is as wide as a semi truck! I went with the LL 207 instead, narrower and with the lower fans a wind tunnel. Peerless Phantom Spirit, 6750xt both run cool, with volumes of hot air escaping.
Got this case in my upcoming build.. I just hope that it has 'no light' choice in the color button for the fan colors.. sometimes I just want no colors or lights
Sorry about this kinda noob question ..if the two front fans daisy chained together can i just connect it to straight to the mobo but still need to put them in individual headers. are the wires long enough so that i could connect them underneath? i opted to buy this rather than the montech air 903. i was so over whelmed with lots of wires. lol
I wat to do a new build, with a ryxen 7 7800 X3D cpu, but not certain which motherboard to use with it! In whatever motherboard I hopefully get I want to be able to use at least 4 NVME SSD on it without comprising the graphics card down from 16 to 8, I want to be able to use GPU to full 16. So my question to use is which motherboard would you recommend for me to use?
How fine is the mesh? I want to paint a case for the first time using the white version of this one, but I'm not sure if certain kinds of paint or any kind of paint would clog the mesh and ruin airflow.
Did you leave this in water cooked mode or did you change it to air cooled? Cuz I want to air cook it but really don’t want to change it to air cooled mobo adjustment if I don’t need to. That way I can just add aio in year or so
@@purpasmart_4831 Check the KitGuru review for this case, you can improve GPU temps like a boss if you install just 2 fans at the bottom. This dude here and Gamers Nexus tested with stock fans, so the results are not the best (still best cpu temps on GN). Kit Guru improved temps by 8°C just by adding fans at the bottom and if you install 3 fans on the top this thing will be the air cooled king, probably even better than the Fractal Torrent because its missing the chance to slap fans to the top.
Hello, PLEASE HELP When I set the RGB lighting to a custom color, it always reverts to the default RGB settings when I restart the computer. I don't have an ARGB connector on my board and I'm using a lan216-1 panel. I always thought that would be better. Is it possible to save the color settings somehow?
@@Justmakesomenoiz my case arrived a week ago and the radiator was installed because my memory is not tall. 5mm taller and it would not fit. One detail: the 140mm fan on the rear had to be moved down to place the fan on the radiator.
Like the case but not the rear fan, no front filter and no audio/mic JACKS only a combo jack. If they deleted the rear fan mount they could have added all for just pennies.
Hey, what 140mm rgb fan would you recommend for the rear exhaust fan? Looking for something that will match the front 160mm fans.... I looked at lian li website and could not find one that works. Something that would easily match the front and have the outer ring and inner ring control. Thank you. Fans that can go into the hub not have proprietary connections.
Only you, Tom, pronounce the brand with two syllables, and you almost got it right. Most native English speakers say this with three syllables like Li-An-Li. I'm not a purist or something, but knowing how English words are pronounced, it feels odd that the L-I-A-N series of letters become two syllables, but names like Neil, John, Pete, etc are said with one. The Chinese pronunciation is like lien in Alien. Like Alien Lee but remove the A. Lien Li.
Yeah, the front fans are a dealbreaker. Usually, the fans supplied by a company are not that great. You cannot fit Noctua or Be Quiet. I am sure there is a market for this case though. Great review saved me £110.00!
I believe he referred to how there are rails in the front section that can be adjusted to fit smaller fans. So you could pull those out and do as you wish.
they are very similar but different in important ways. the III is for sure the more upscale version, it also costs more. they do end up performing about the same thermally but i think the III is a little bit more quiet sometimes. but its also bigger and more mechanically complex. you can't go wrong with either just gotta do research and know what you're looking for. with my parts and budget i went with the 216 black rgb personally
@@vedinthorn yeah but that wasnt mentioned until like 20 seconds into the video, how can anybody be expected to watch that much of a video before commenting on it!?

Are you going to review the cougar fv270 case?
Is it possible to shut the RGB off via the L-Connect 3 software?

Question to the author of the video: Connector USB Type C in the case Lancool 216, it is Gen1 or Gen 2, i.e. its speed 5 or 10 gb/sec ?
Awesome case

Nice case white looks great, with Gamersnexus testing the 215 had better GPU cooling even though the 200m fans are slightly blocked off.
Yeah that's my only issue with this case.

Why didn't Lian Li put a cover in front of the bottom fan? I think this is an aesthetic shortcoming.

I just got the case and I bought the 216x ARGB Control & USB Module and it was a pain to put in. I would suggest to avoid.
where did you find the argb panel?

The roof does come off does it? Just a couple of screws
the roof and the panel underneath both come off
I have and old XSPC 360mm radiator which is 60mm thick and with the fans I have 80mm of thickness. So my question is: would they fit on this case?

Can the front 160mm fans be controlled by a UNIFAN controller?
Does the onboard argb front controller have the option to also change how strong you want the rgb light to be?

Lien Li.
The names Ian and Liam are two syllables, aren't they?
Do the argb buttons turn off the front fan LEDs? Or is it just for changing the color of the fans?
if the ARGB hub or mobo connector isnt fitted they wont light up
I'm still waiting for that custom loop in the Coolermaster HAF 700 EVO. Please tell me that's still happening.

according to their documentation the top only supports 120 or 140 mm fans ~ not 160!
