    Not that these aren’t awesome, but I’d love to see one of these budget companies do one up true to Buckethead’s specs- baritone and an oversized body to match the scale length.

      Yea, that’d be cool. They have a baritone, but it doesn’t have an oversized body. It’s up there now I think. Thanks for watching! 😃👍🏻

    Its "new" because its the 24.75 scale. When Firefly first released this tribute model, it was a true baritone like Bucketheads guitar. This is not a baritone scale - so it is a new offering. For anyone that has not seen a Firefly guitar in the wild, I got a chance to hold and play their version of the Zakk Wylde Bullseye LP a few weeks ago and it is amazing - I mean AMAZING. The quality feel of these guitars is unbelievable at the price point. The bullseye was clearly a print under the poly clear coat (no depth) but it still looked great. It was heavy and the binding, inlay work and fret work was flawless. If you have $250 to spend on a guitar and you want something that exceeds the normal sub-$300 guitars for quality and cool factor, you have to check out a Firefly.

      They’ve actually released this as a non baritone in the past, in fact, before the baritone version. My friend got one last year, and that’s what I was hunting for. But yea, definitely worth the money! Thanks for watching! 😃👍🏻

    Didn't they make some of these a few years back??? I may be confused with the brand name.....but I'm sure there was one years ago.
    Only thing I can see different is the 2nd kill switch

    • @VaporTrailChannel
      @VaporTrailChannel  วันที่ผ่านมา

      They have made it a few times. This is the “SP” version. Some improvements, and locking tuners I guess 🤷‍♂️ They do seem to get better over time. If you look at their site, they have older FFLP models (of this body style) that don’t have the locking tuners, so that may be it. They do make a tele style one that’s white and has a single kill switch, which is the John 5 tribute. Maybe you’re thinking of that one? Thanks for watching! 😃👍🏻

    When my guitar's bridge rattled like this one, I jammed a little plastic wrap in the cavity of the buzzing section and it fixed it.

    Just bought one because why not... it's cheap. Its a mod platform to play with and its a neat little mess around guitar to jam to buckethead once in a while.

    Those pickups are typical for Firefly as well- super microphonic... This became evident when you were tapping the kill switches. I can't imagine this at stage level volume, it would be a total horror show. Made for bedroom playing. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

    • @VaporTrailChannel
      @VaporTrailChannel  วันที่ผ่านมา

      That dawned on me after I published and watched this back. Thing is, I tried turning the amp up and talking into them and it didn’t sound microphonic, so I moved on. Yea, if I were using this for stage, I’d have to replace those pups. Thank you for the feedback, and for watching!

      That is super important info, I went from wanting it to not after reading your comment. Thanks for sharing that, makes sense to replace all the hardware, at that point, I'd just buy a different guitar.

    • @VaporTrailChannel
      @VaporTrailChannel  22 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @@Dubsteppahit’s not really replacing a lot of hardware. The most expensive part would be the pickups, and a lot of people end up swapping those out on even high end guitars to better suit their taste. That said, $229 is much better than $6k if you really wanted the Buckethead guitar and can’t get or afford one. Thanks for watching! 😃👍🏻

    Is that a real John 5 tele in the back? Is so wow

    • @VaporTrailChannel
      @VaporTrailChannel  34 นาทีที่ผ่านมา

      lol 😆 unfortunately, no. I’d love to have one, but I took a gamble on AliExpress and got it. It’s actually quite good, but it actually says “Fender” on the headstock and has the engraved John 5 logo on the neck plate. Made me feel a little “dirty” or something, know what I mean? I’ll do a video on that but want to do a couple things to it first. One telltale thing is the pickguard. Mine has the typical 2 piece guard you see on Tele’s, and the real one has a one piece. Also, the kill switch is a little smaller / cheaper looking, and the washers on the tuners aren’t red. Thank you for watching!

    This the first LP style guitar I've ever wanted 230 is a steal for a cool setneck platform, you could easily upgrade the toggle switches to be inline with gibson spec with an upgraded bridge it would be a serious sleeper build at parties, you could play the entire GNR catalog on that baby.

    unethical work conditions is how they get the price down. i can build a guitar from scratch with reclaimed and recycled wood and the cheapest hardware for $250, they have wholesale, cnc machines and child labor, it probobly cost them $75 at the most to make one of those and thats including man hours.

    They made improvements but they have had a rattly bridge for about 5 years now that I'm aware of. (easy fix, but not what you'd think)
    This is a bit of an issue with Firefly. They are big on hype, make a lot of promises, and they sell a lot of color variations that are not available elsewhere- but beyond that they are just a budget guitar.... And you have to pay shipping. $27, so more like 260 bucks.
    I have fireflies from the first days up until the fftc I got a few months ago that was a total wreck. The quality control is all over the place and always has been.

      Thanks again for your thoughts! Yes, QC can be a bit wonky, but even with a couple of caveats, for me it’s a great value. And a cool guitar! If it was my first guitar, it would be miles above what my first one was. And that was at least $150 when I was around 11. I’m in my 50’s now. When it comes to all of the budget guitars I’ve gotten (and there are many), they’ve all needed something done to them to bring them up to a real players standard. This one? Definitely the bridge (under $50) and maybe the pickups if I’m going to use this on stage. If the kill switches get too janky, maybe those. Thanks for watching! 😃👍🏻
