I’ve seen Buckethead three times with my son. All three times right up next to the stage. Every time, he hands out toys to the people in the front, and we’ve both played his kill switch. My son has all of our toys in his bedroom studio as mementos. I must say, that those concerts with my son will be something neither of us will forget.
Saw him December 2017 in LA and changed my life forever. My girlfriend and I love...absolutely love buckethead. We had a hard time....my fault....and went our separate ways. I went to bucketheads show by myself a few months after break up and he graced us with interworld and the new innocence and animal behavior. I completely lost it. Broke down in tears mid show. During intermission I was having a smoke and a guy saw the look on my face and asked me what could possibly be wrong. We talked for a bit and it was at that moment I realized I had made the biggest mistake of my life leaving my girlfriend. 2 days later I reached out to her. Needless to say almost 2 years later we are stronger than ever and I will be asking her to marry me. So yes buckethead affects so many people in such a positive way. Ozzy was very foolish to demand Buckethead to remove his bucket and mask to be able to play in his band. When Buckethead shows up for an interview, you let him wear whatever the hell he wants to. That mask and bucket adds epic mystique and imagery. Even when you know who he is. Dumb, dumb, dumb. If Buckethead shows up to your bands audition, make no demands. This is genius of a nearly unmeasurable scale. You don't put demands on such people.
The most ridiculous thing Ozzy ever did. In the context of Ozzy’s persona and image buckethead would have been the perfect foil - Ozzy Osbourne with Michael Myers on guitar - the ultimate rock(y) horror show! The problem for Ozzy has always been insecurity- I’m sure Sharon wouldn’t have tolerated someone else stealing the limelight from her husband. Such a shame but the experiences of Bob Daisley, Lee Kerslake and Jake E Lee bear this out .
@@HairyMunci That would Rock! I second that! I'd love to see him hit a Judas Priest stage at some point too. As perhaps a guest appearance. Can you imagine? EPIC
Amazing guitarist...I started listening to him almost 30 years ago when he lived across the street from my friend. He'd give her piano lessons. Always kind and always humble.
@bullithole9004 he didn't like to be seen as popular, one of the reasons he left GNR because people would go just to watch him shred and beautifully play the melodies. Truly one of the most disciplined and humble people.
I'm mad that your mad because not everybody likes what you like this sounds like somebody just running through scales half the time very boring if you ask me so
In the 90‘s I went to Madrid to my first vacation outside my home country without my parents. My hostel room had a tiny TV and one of the channels would feature bands at night. That‘s when I first heard bucket head (it was him, a DJ and a drummer) and I was blown away and watched in awe for hours. It took me years to actually find out who he is. That is such an intense and lasting memory, I barely can remember anything else from that trip.
I was there also! Front and center. My 6th time seeing him. On Friday the 13th ,his BD, I shook his hand, hit the killswitch and got a batman mask from him! I love you Bucket! Thanks again Jack for these treasures.
One of his favorite things to do with his friend and frequent drummer Brain is drive around all over looking for a soda fountain that serves the "perfect diet coke". Wholesome is definitely the right word for him.
This is what you call a very down to earth arist. Definetly one of the greatest guitar players and most well respected people out there especially for the fact he interacts with his fans and audience. Guy is a living legend, gotta love Buckethead
Theres almost no guitarist as effortless and flawless as Buckethead. I know some people scoff at him because of the attire but as a guitarist there are next to no guitarists in history as talented as he. So much respect for this guy.
@@taden8544 far better in terms of what? speed? listen to him..to me BH has far more feeling and heart in his playing than JL.. both are fucking fast (but beeing fast means often that it sounds cold and digital)
I just sincerely hope that Brian has people in his life that Bless and inspire him as much as he does for all of us with his music and time he spends with his audience.
I watch/listen to this video every few months since it was first posted. Of all the hundreds of live Buckethead videos I've watched, this is my favorite!
Look up some buckethead interviews , he talks for a bit and you would find he is one of the nicest guys to speak. The mask could be a large part of why he is so shy though.
I had a friend in middle school you loved buckethead. Being a metalhead myself, I really don't know why I never checked him out before. Here I am, almost 27 years old, finally checking him out. I'm blown away. I don't know what kept me away.
I was very happy watching this video. Buckethead is an incredible guitarist. I remembered Rory Gallagher's presentations, who also liked interacting with the public.
His articulation is excellent. I was in the recording industry for 15 years. When music took a turn for the worst, i ran fast. Been out of it for 20+ years now. First time hearing this guy.....so far so good
Music is music, it does not get worse or better, just different. 12 notes, just rearranged over and over. I would respectfully suggest that the music industry took a turn for the worse not too long ago.
How can some people still say that buckethead is a shred-a-holic with no soul and no feeling in his play ? Listen to that and make amend. Music for my head, my heart and my... something else. Makes me shiver often, makes me breathe fast... true artistry, which means that the effects on yourself cannot fully be described. Beyond words.
The way he switches styles effortlessly...shred, to melodic, to heavy rhythm, to shred, back to melodic, to bluesy...damn. And he wrings a level of emotion out of that guitar that rivals my all-time favorite Stevie Ray Vaughan. Very different styles but both of them could tell a story and make you FEEL with just a guitar.
Genius guitar player. Long fingers, it’s almost like he was designed to play on another level. He makes a guitar do things it was not even designed to do.
He’s certainly a masterful player but there are many guitarists in different genres as facile, who also make beautiful music (many with short fingers). That said, there is some serious mental disturbance manifest here: to hide behind a ridiculous Michael Myer’s Halloween mask and wear a KFC chicken bucket on your head for your entire career.
In all honesty this is one of the finest, most mind blowing (& altering) Buckethead clips I've seen...& that's saying something cos he's got a few good ones out there.
To this day I listen to a light in the fog, the pathless road, aunt Suzie, padmasana everyday for my workouts. I puts me in a good frame of mind. His music feeds my soul.
I am no musician, but I have to say that Buckethead is perhaps THE greatest guitar player of all time. Thank you Mr. B. for your lovely and moving music...
You must be drunk and deff shows your no musician.. maybe tryn to actually list to music be commenting you sound silly as fuk think he best I. World. 😆
Eargasm! Great footage and equally impressive to see & hear The Bucket return to ferocious, maniacal, mechanical, chicken coop, sustained slunk form!!!
I really discovered Buckethead a month ago (sorry I'm an old school guitarist groupie), but I'll tell you, I've watched this video 46 times since then. Yeah, Satriani, Vai, Slash, all great guitarists, but this dude is just raw, pure and compete in himself. It's all about the music, and sharing his talent with us lesser humans.
I've been listening to this song for nearly 6 years and never commented. Buckethead Soothsayer really hits a special note for me. I found this song when I was going through it. Every opioid compound you could get access to. Working through sobriety I listened to this shit daily. Find a medium and pass through it. The way out..... Is through. Find it.
I was turned on to this guy only a few days ago after a young guy begged me to watch him. At first, as an old school guy, I said I don't want to watch a dude with a chicken bucket on his head. After all, I come from the generation of Randy Rhodes, Slash and others. But, he convinced me to listen and I've been kicking myself ever since for not listening sooner. This guy is the BEST electric guitar player I've ever heard or heard...period. And I think I've heard them all, all the way back to the seventies. Page, Rhodes, Slash, Beck, Dokken...etc. I've never seen someone so precise on the hard stuff. For those that don't play, using the index finger is the easiest. The pinky is the hardest. He seems to use them all without bias. It's absolutely incredible to me that his pinky is as profound as his index finger in playing. Not only that, it is as precise...no mistakes in tone or mutation. Almost inhuman. Perhaps that is why he wears the mask. He plays like a robot when it comes to precision, but he also puts the very human art of variance and nuance that robots can't do. Simply incredible.
th-cam.com/video/oaIzEo013iI/w-d-xo.html this is him impersonating different players without actually playing anything they wrote hahahaha. th-cam.com/video/aA8fzsE7tWU/w-d-xo.html this is off his album erotic cakes.
I ONLY RECENTLY discovered Buckethead (LAST WEEK) and I honestly feel like IF he had lived, Jimi would have LOVED to play with Buckethead. I too am an "old school" guy who has followed the greats, Page, Gilmour, Jimi (of course) Duane Allman, Trower, Iommi, Rhodes, Santana, AND in my DECADES of searching out the next "VOODOO CHILD" have never found a more worthy individual more deserving of the title, "ALL HAIL VOODOO CHILD BUCKETHEAD"!!!!! " I SAID TURN THAT DAMN GUITAR DOWN"!!!!!!!
Awesome video and I like the description..well said. Buckethead is and has pretty much always been in his own league. I dont think anyone else will ever be able to release 250 albums and master the guitar the way he has. Not to mention the fact that hes still never shown his face in public. The mans a true virtuoso.
In 2001 at Rock in Rio, he was in Guns' n Roses, and my father had passed away a few days, something 25 days, was Ona huge depression was when I saw him playing in the band, and I just stared at him . He took me to a level above my depression. Three months later I lost my sister to cancer, and again he helped me with his songs ... to me, he's the best, as well as being an excellent multiintrumentista, he is charismatic. Always follow.
Yep, Buckethead is hands-down one of the best guitarists of his generation. He’s been doing his thing for quite a while and he is very well known among guitar players. Dude is guitar legend status.
Again, my hats off to and totally indebted to Jack Hughes for making the best videos to date of the MASTER. Thank You. I have in video the concert I went to.
Loe Kevin Sorono LOE KEVIN UTUBE U SOME MICHEAL A BATIORANDY RHODES TRIBUTE ED VAN HALEN DIME BAG!!!! 8 PILLARS. HANDS WITH KNOW SHADOWS. Guinness SAID HE WAS 3RD FASTEST EVER
I'm going to be honest, I'm in a similar boat with you on this one, although I've been a fan for a while now. But the first time I ever saw him, I HATED him, only because it was when he played with (fake) GnR at the MTV VMA's (whatever year that was), and I was like, this dudes a f'n weirdo, AND trying to jack Slash of his shoes. Little did I realize, years later, that he fits in them just fine, if not a bit better (as painful as that is to say).
His perfect technique is mesmerizing . fuckin guy can play like a wizard and write catchy riffs and solo in a variety of styles showing absolutely zero effort. do I tire sometimes of the over indulging in pure speed shredding? yah , but I am a guy who gets more out of a catchy riff then the extended solos of pure shredders. either way, this guy is at the top of the game when it gets to electric guitar.
I couldn't agree more - the man is a phenomenon. He's a super human. He's a genius on the level of great mathematicians and physicists - just in a different realm.
Buckethead is one of the most virtuoso of guitarists in the genre of rock guitar. HE is one of the top 25 guitarists I've listened to and enjoyed most.
I met him 2 yrs ago without this mask on just the sweetest guy ever got his autograph the guy has gone that a lot medical issues wish he plays on for many decades to come!
Hes not that great of guitarist. Guys that can play smoking circles around him are a dime a dozen, these days. What he is, is a musician. He is expressive, which is something those dime a dozen technicians don't have.

Also tailor made for Motley Crue if they should ever do another tour
@@HairyMunci That would Rock! I second that! I'd love to see him hit a Judas Priest stage at some point too. As perhaps a guest appearance. Can you imagine? EPIC

Dead right....it would be an honour to have him play
Amazing guitarist...I started listening to him almost 30 years ago when he lived across the street from my friend. He'd give her piano lessons. Always kind and always humble.

@@bullithole9004 i think he's sponsored by Colonel Saunders.
@bullithole9004 he didn't like to be seen as popular, one of the reasons he left GNR because people would go just to watch him shred and beautifully play the melodies. Truly one of the most disciplined and humble people.

Finishes song, adjusts bucket.
Sharp dressed man.

playing so good with that mask on is insane...
I was there also! Front and center. My 6th time seeing him. On Friday the 13th ,his BD, I shook his hand, hit the killswitch and got a batman mask from him! I love you Bucket! Thanks again Jack for these treasures.
I found very wholesome when he shaked the guy's hand towards the end. Such a nice guy.
One of his favorite things to do with his friend and frequent drummer Brain is drive around all over looking for a soda fountain that serves the "perfect diet coke".
Wholesome is definitely the right word for him.
That is SOOO important to me!
Seriously…
@@spiderpickle3255 that is really cool!
Specially in his line of work.
Diet Coke is not normally good the Coke they are looking for!
Love it!
Jeff loomis is far better IMO not to say BH isn’t a god
the only guitarist next to hendrix (in terms of skills and feeling and improving sounds and technics). just awesome!!!!!
@@taden8544 far better in terms of what? speed? listen to him..to me BH has far more feeling and heart in his playing than JL.. both are fucking fast (but beeing fast means often that it sounds cold and digital)
People that scoff at buckethead are just testimony that no matter how good your are that there is always some dick and set of nuts that is slighted.
I love his attire ... always...
Absolutely Incredible! The anonymity leaves only one thing to see, those incredible fingers making that guitar sing. Absolute Respect for this guy.
I was at the show and it was fantastic. Was his birthday too. When he played Soothsayer I lost it!
I just sincerely hope that Brian has people in his life that Bless and inspire him as much as he does for all of us with his music and time he spends with his audience.
You can really feel his love of music by how much he smiles while playing. Just wonderful.
That made me chuckle
There is something so Sad but beautiful about the song, puts my mind in a calm state every time i listen to it, awsome player, buckethead
Must be nice to get paid to do what you love most. I still haven't got the QC job at the brewery 🤣🤣🤣
LoL !
How can you tell? He's wearing a mask...
I watch/listen to this video every few months since it was first posted. Of all the hundreds of live Buckethead videos I've watched, this is my favorite!
I've watched countless hours of buckethead. How am I just seeing this now?!
I’m so impressed by this man who can command a stage by himself, create such beautiful melody and shred in the most musical way that I’ve ever heard.
I love how he let the audience join in! Such a genuine dude
Co e He looks like a nice guy. But I am not sure about it
Only a select few truly know whats under the Bucket my friend, I am not one of them though.
Look up some buckethead interviews , he talks for a bit and you would find he is one of the nicest guys to speak. The mask could be a large part of why he is so shy though.
Just came across buckethead yesterday. Man, I’ve been missing out! So clean, innovative, and enjoyable to watch and listen to.
I had a friend in middle school you loved buckethead. Being a metalhead myself, I really don't know why I never checked him out before. Here I am, almost 27 years old, finally checking him out. I'm blown away. I don't know what kept me away.
Bucket really went the extra mile to let the audience really get involved. ANOTHER reason to be a bucket fan
Thanks for the super clear upload as well
He let EVERYONE have a turn, very cool
I can’t TELL YOU how many miles I’ve drove with this on repeat!!! It’s like a trance. Like fucking WOW!!!! ❤❤❤❤
One of the best guitarists in the world, when my son made me watch buckethead I laughed and said ok,, years later I've watched it all,,still in awe
I was very happy watching this video. Buckethead is an incredible guitarist. I remembered Rory Gallagher's presentations, who also liked interacting with the public.
This was freakin awesome! Amazing how he lets the audience get involved. How many kids play guitar now because of him. He’s phenomenal.
His articulation is excellent. I was in the recording industry for 15 years. When music took a turn for the worst, i ran fast. Been out of it for 20+ years now. First time hearing this guy.....so far so good
When I see what some of these rap guys have archive I want to puke....
Music is music, it does not get worse or better, just different. 12 notes, just rearranged over and over. I would respectfully suggest that the music industry took a turn for the worse not too long ago.
I've never heard of this phenom! I've been living under a bucket :|
Can we just talk about how Buckethead is a powerhouse when it comes to making new albums?! That guys work ethic is out of this world!
So cool that he let fans participate. Made a memory that will last forever.
Benoit Mangin they haven't heard all of his albums
The way he switches styles effortlessly...shred, to melodic, to heavy rhythm, to shred, back to melodic, to bluesy...damn. And he wrings a level of emotion out of that guitar that rivals my all-time favorite Stevie Ray Vaughan. Very different styles but both of them could tell a story and make you FEEL with just a guitar.
PUH-leazzze. Stevie Ray Vaughan never, ever played with a bucket on his head. SRV was overrated, compared to King Buckethead!
@@SeptemberChild1835 >> Thankfully, SRV needed no bucket…he had a personality instead.
@@jaybee9269 I was actually being facetious. ‘‘Twas a joke.
I listened to a Buckethead interview. I identified so much. love the man. God bless
Genius guitar player. Long fingers, it’s almost like he was designed to play on another level. He makes a guitar do things it was not even designed to do.
Have in mind that his Les Paul is custom made, larger by like 15-20%. A normal guitar looks like a toy in his hands.
@@zeljkokaravida3934 27” scale.
@@zeljkokaravida3934 how tall is bucket head?
Where was the genius part?? I didn't see nothing special n his playing..
His alternate picking technique is out of this world. Thumbs up!!

NO!! NO!! NOT KFC!!! THIS GUY IS A SHLOCK AMATEUR. AN ORANGE 5 GALLON HOME DEPOT BUCKET WOULD MAKE HIM A REAL GUITARIST!!!!!
The melodies do it for me. Purely technical shredding gets old fast.
Tom Ford: True fact, he is not human.. he has additional fingers that we can't see ...
He is from Thunder'Galactica..
That is called as the "(Paul) Gilbert Pinkie Syndrome" or GPS shortly...
th-cam.com/video/oaIzEo013iI/w-d-xo.html this is him impersonating different players without actually playing anything they wrote hahahaha. th-cam.com/video/aA8fzsE7tWU/w-d-xo.html this is off his album erotic cakes.
Mutant robot raised by chickens. I think his Father is Tony Iomi.
Tgunzz the only guitarist that I'd say is on one level with him is Paul Gilbert
Well quantity has a quality of its own
helloIamcuteashell: Well I say hes fast and fun to listen to but Ultich Roth is the greatest!
Satriani may not have the quantity of songs Bucket has but Satch is definitely a guitar wizard in his own right.
You guys guys are forgetting the great Shawn lane. He was an inspiration for buckethead
The creativity and substance of his playing are incredible!!! Its total brain massage ear candy.
This guy is just amazing. Listening/watching him perform Soothsayer is Therapy. It heals my soul.

Just was. Got it saved, some of his best performance! And sound!!
Recent fan of Buckethead's genious . Outstanding performance. 10/10. Love this
In 2001 at Rock in Rio, he was in Guns' n Roses, and my father had passed away a few days, something 25 days, was Ona huge depression was when I saw him playing in the band, and I just stared at him . He took me to a level above my depression. Three months later I lost my sister to cancer, and again he helped me with his songs ... to me, he's the best, as well as being an excellent multiintrumentista, he is charismatic. Always follow.

He is one with his instrument!!!!
Seriously intoxicating.
Awesome!!!!
Imagine that a musician that loves his fans. You can really tell how good of a man he is. I listen to him all the time.

Yep,, some of his stuff i cant listen to,, and then there is some that is other worldly!!! He's a freakin guitar savant.
I couldn't agree more - the man is a phenomenon. He's a super human. He's a genius on the level of great mathematicians and physicists - just in a different realm.
He's just absolutely incredible. I only recently started playing guitar at 24 years old this man is a huge motivation.
It's never too late. Keep it up.

Buckethead is something else. Amazing is an understatement for him. He uses alot of effects but he's just a musical genius. His music goes deep.
Paul Gilbert did a good job teaching him but buckethead took it to a whole new level
Gilbert approved that he ONLY gave him 2 lessons , the guy was READY before Gilbert taught him he was already educated by his own

Gilbert is the fucking boss man!!!
Gilbert publicily said don't give me credit for Buckethead's talent. I was 18, he was 15. And sessions were very few.
Hes not that great of guitarist. Guys that can play smoking circles around him are a dime a dozen, these days. What he is, is a musician. He is expressive, which is something those dime a dozen technicians don't have.
