This Old School Nascar fan is extremely excited about Shane coming to Nascar full time. I haven't been as excited to see someone win like Shane did in Chicago since Dale Jr won Daytona in 2001. I hope more racers around the world follow what Shane is doing and come try Nascar.
for most, road course ringers are only good at racing on nascar road courses. For which their driving skills far excels when compared to your fulltime nascar drivers. But when they race on ovals, which are the majority of the nascar schedule, it's less to be desired about. Take a look at Marco Ambrose, Boris Said, JPM, and etc. They kill it on the road courses. But when they're on ovals, they are midpack at best. Don't get me wrong... I love road course racing. Those tracks shows the drivers' true skills. Oval racing is a totally different beast. But for SVG, I would prefer him to be racing in IMSA, LeMans, or touring cars... I think he would dominate there. But I am glad he is willing to get out of his comfort zone and try to compete in something else.
Amazingly humble for a man with so much success. I'm sure he will keep that. Even in America. It's in his blood. Best wishes for this next adventure 🇦🇺🇳🇿
How are you two guys,....fantastic fella's, so enjoyed listening to your stories, I'll be following Shane closely from now on. Best of luck in both events Shane, and good on you Quad Lock. So impressed with Shane's interviews, intelligent and humble, love that in a bloke.
@Quad_Lock Seriously, lock him into a contract if you can. I think if he could fit into an F1 car, he'd give Max a lesson. He's like me, anything with an engine, but ten levels above. And I was a Rally instructor for years. He's my man racing crush
Sounds like you are crushing hard, but I get it, he is pure talent 😍 Someone needs to get close to Max and he might be the man for the job if not hopefully Oscar 🤞 Cheers - Isabelle

So good to see svg comfortable in an interview and talking openly about himself. Maybe the supercars media should take some notes from your interview. Can't wait for svg to enter Nascar and run with the big boys.
Remember the spin at Puke in the Formula Ford and driving back through the field to win, been some awesome moments looking forward to the NASCAR journey. Think Shane will be the first non American Cup Champion
I like how he say's, "Those guys were flat out from the start, I had to take my time learn a bit". Then just qualified fastest, then carves through the pack and wins. I can't wait to see him on an oval.

Awesome, nice relaxed interview. never knew he lived beside the o'conors. Is that where he got the RC bit from. good luck this weekend
It was an awesome interview! Pretty safe guess I think, growing up with the O'Connors!

Awesome interview 🇳🇿🇳🇿🇳🇿
💙
That's just crazy.... and really cool.
🔥
I have a great photo of when I met him in 2012. Top bloke. Go Gis.. Pity Lajoie didn't get the 2nd interview.
I'm sure that's an amazing photo! 🔥
Funny coincidence. my son that is pictured got his driving license the day Shane won in Chicago. Happy days mate.
That would have been a very happy day for your son 👏
Have a good one - Isabelle
Is that all of Shane's trophies in the background?
Well, they're not mine sadly...
Wow shane your dad would have been driving against my uncle from kaikohe his name was Ray Makene we used to go every Saturday to waikaraka park
888 and Redbull should part own a team in NASCAR if he goes ok on ovals should adapt well...
Redbull did have a team but they did poorly and they high tailed it
@@nameless1873 888 run Supercars and GT3 plenty capable of running part of a NASCAR team in future with Redbull support...
The current V8 Supercars is basically a 888 design DJR do the Mustang body and aero KRE and Herrod engines....
Redbull to follow him yes, Shane to race for Trackhouse, So Much experience in that team, no way of matching it. it would take years to catch up
@@markcollins6639 Trackhouse need more people to run an extra car some 888 people could help out like his engineer...
Good luck in NASCAR Shane.
