The cable strength far outweighs the capacity of the winch,... Well untill the pulley was added that is.

My suggestion when maxing out a winch or using harbor freight equipment (which I always use), throw something equivalent to a small sand bag, like a heavy coat or something, on the middle of the line. Just in case that cable snaps the heavy coat (or whatever you have on there) will not cause the broken cable ends to snap back at you and the car.
Just some off-roading winch knowledge I’ve picked up over the years ;)
If you don’t want to do that, just stay clear out of the winch cables path of destruction :)
Good advice I've seen similar situations on a move line snaps cuts head right off.

You can use a stationary mounted winch and a single snatch block to load and off load your trailer. Great tool to have.

I really appreciate this video man, thanks a lot!! Recently my father hurt his back and wants me to find him a winch for his toy hauler but ICE wanted to be able to pull a small car up onto the trailer and to boot he has a sequoia so knowing first hand how heavy they are compared to a small Prius or accord or something like that is the biggest he’d be trying to haul so I’m impressed, with a couple snatch blocks handy to be safe and i think this would be more than sufficient for him.

Its a good thing to have snatch blocks around. They come in handy more than people think. But sadly, a lot don't know what they are or how to use them. Good work on having that handy to put less stress on that winch. And for that winch, even though it's a small one, it did what it had to do. Always good to have extra tools around that serve a purpose, they tend to come in handy later.

They work fine. Yes they are slow and they are noisy but they work. In the land of TH-cam experts they work fine. I used mine to get unstuck a few times. If you used it every day it would work every day. It’s a winch! They pull stuff.

Hey im hauling a load right by Baltimore and guess what they said to me? They are focusing on car haulers. Something to do with the factory tires not being able to handle the loads. They say this is now a nationwide issue so be careful and stay safe!!!!!

I wish I'd had a camera to show you what these things are truly capable of. I dragged my 33ft steel hull yacht weighing 4.5 tons on a 1.5 ton boatyard trailer I'd made using two front axles off a 7.5 ton Bedford lorry (we call them lorries not trucks in the UK) into a farmyard then did a 5 point turn in the yard to get turned round ready to winch onto a low loader. With a purchase tackle you could shift a heck of a lot more.
I have one like that I use for pulling logs out of the woods, hook it to the ball on the back of my trail blazer, when the winch over heats on the long pull, then I just get in the car and drive it out, much faster. The winch is very slow.
Keep one tie down on the front for a safety in case of cable failure.

Tp back on the road. Bad oil filter. Only lost like 1 qt of oil, wasn’t too bad. Harbor freight is the plug!! Just buy the warranty and you never have to pay for a winch again

I wanted to get that winch, but it being so slow isn't going to work for me. I ALMOST bought it when i was at Harbor Freight.
I bought a Portable Winch PCW3000-LI. It's a capstan winch which will maintain the pulling force and is 8-times faster pulling than the winch you are using. It does cost over 8-times that one too. However you can use it to pull many things in many applications; hunting/ fishing, motorsports, off road, camping, rescue, timber, etc.

I would have bought a faster winch! Getting paid by the hour lol. What people gotta realize is that it doesn't take 6000 pounds to move a 6000 pound car. You can push a car by yourself. Also smart use of pulleys!
I replaced my quad bike with a daihatsu terios, (was about the same price) now the whole family can have fun in the mud, anyway the terios weighs 1100kg, a 2000 pound winch should get me out of 99% of my predicaments, for the other 1% I'll add a pulley 😁.

Two words for ya brother, "DUTY-CYCLE" lol, it tells you that they only run for 6 to 8mins then need a good 5 to 10mins to cool down when working hard then it'll pull that thing right up onto your trailer no problem!
