  • How will this little $89 Harbor Freight winch do? Follow along as I unbox, review, and provide a demo using this 2000 LB marine winch to pull up my 1980's Vanguard Comuta-Car! This bad land winch truly is awesome! The little winch that could!

    Jason I just took mine out of the box to test it, and needed someone to reassure me that the clickety-clack of its motor in operation is normal. Thanks! Never seent a Comuta-car before--congrats. Hope you got it running again.

      Same feeling I had initially! Glad you found the video. It's a handy little machine, I use it a lot. Still working with no issues. The electric car was running again, but the controller went bad. I haven't replaced it, yet.

    I appreciate this video. I couldn't find where someone had used flexible anchors for winch. Thanks.

    That's exactly what mine sounded like just now fresh out of the box. I'll be taking it back tomorrow.

    It's a marine winch because it's made to pull boats on trailer instead of cranking

      Is that why it's got an adapter to hook on a ball?

    When you pull on a strap on an angle like that, you diminish the strength dramatically.

    That's the locking mechanism that you'll find on most winches.

      Interesting! I had a winch on an old tractor and don't recall it. Glad it's just a normal operating noise!

    Do you need to keep the car running when operating the winch? Thanks!

    • @jamzdotnet
      @jamzdotnet  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, it's hooked to the battery and will run without the car running. However, keeping the car running will ensure you don't pull the battery drain too much.

    I just took mine out of the box but thought you would show us WHERE AND HOW the control wire and power wire hooks to the darn winch.All it has is a hole in front and square hole in the rear.Oh well....

      Thanks for watching. The power cable just plugs in. It has a protective covering you remove. The manual shows this as well, www.harborfreight.com/2000-lb-marine-electric-winch-64602.html?event_id=182713&campaignid=12236914015&adsetid=163074556235&product=64602&store=&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwu8uyBhC6ARIsAKwBGpSME2Rvuo121RqW5AbPfarfSKkEneHwlYR0QNncBa_ZgXtixn0LQIoaAighEALw_wcB
