pia truly deserved to be miss universe 2015, beyond deserving actually. looking back at her story here on philippine pageantry, her hard work and dedication brought her on top. steve, yes, he made a huge mistake BUT he corrected it immediately and gave justice to the TRUE winner. it just breaks my heart up until now that people on the venue were booing pia when in FACT she was the winner.
Ariadna could just have said "thank you for the mistake Steve. Because if you did it get it right the first time, no one will gonna talk 'bout me anymore and now i'm the most famous 1st runner-up ever" Lol!

I honestly feel more sorry for Pia. She's the one that got all the hate for something she deserved. Instead of stepping down and giving the crown over to Pia, she just balled her eyes out. Pia didn't even get a chance to proudly accept the crown. She didn't get her crowning moment and people booed but she managed to stay professional and showed humility.

I believe no one deserves to experience this chains of events but I actually have to disagree with your comment Pia also received quite a backlash and also received death threats as well as hate comments/videos. One of the worse hate I've seen was this video of Miss Colombias supporter proceeding to burn figures representing Pia and Steve (I tried finding the original video but couldn't but there is a small segment on 'Miss Universe: It's Not a Good Idea to Share My Crown' by Insider Edition)

3 years later, watching this video, I hope since then, she realizes she did not respond to her defeat with grace. She was adamant in placing accountability on the organization as well as Steve. I hope she realizes that she wasn't purposefully mistreated by anyone; she was just heartbroken, enraged, and embarrassed about her defeat. As someone who is expected to exude grace, humility, and wisdom, it should not have taken her that long to get over it and she never should have used social media to protest. Grace is humbly walking away from things not meant for us. Wisdom is accepting the things we cannot change. Steve expressed sincere remorse. Her; just indignant self-righteous and entitlement. This was a valuable lesson for all involved.

I see many comments criticising Ms Columbia for her attitude. But I find nothing wrong. She maintained her composure, was humble and very friendly with Harvey. What else could she do?! She is simply a strong woman. Hats off to her for maintaining that smile after that huge heart break...
I know it's hard but you need to accept. Miss U PH is the one who deserves that crown and you must accept and let go of it. Accept the blessings that has given to you for being the 1st runner up. Imagine a lot of beauty pageants participated and yet you've been included into the Top 3. You must be thankful and move on.
