A simple, elegant knife from Spain; Cudeman Vendetta Stiletto

- Salutations Ladies and Gentlemen! Today, I'll be discussing a particularly classy knife from Spain. This piece is a simple, utilitarian folder with a nice Olive wood handle and a slender, Spear-point style blade. The steel is "Molibdeno Vanadio". (Molybdenum Vanadium) From what I know, this steel is equivalent to the average Aus-8, 440c or 420hc. The pins are brass. The liners and spring are steel.
This knife has a rather unusual mechanism. It is somewhat akin to a slipjoint, but with a greater degree of safety, which is due to a small crevice the spring sits in, making it harder to close on accident.
All in all, for under 50 CAD, this is a great little knife. It is currently my only knife from Spain, but time will likely change that!

Very nice little knife,. I have the Lionsteel Gitano, which has a similar "notch" mechanism, although it's much stronger, and a lovely example of the Navaja style,, it too is just over the legal limit for us here in England, it is superb and highly recommended,,
Anyway, this is a very nice knife, and thanks for showing us this one..
Cheers, John..
I've toyed with the Gitano before, but it's just a little *too* modern for me...not to mention quite peculiar!
Thanks for watching!
Cheers, as always!

Not as modern as my latest acquisition, the Cold Steel Laredo Bowie,, ha ha,,
Absolute perfection, and quite deadly, lol,,
All the best my friend,
Nice looking knife, buddy!
Thanks for stopping by!
Cheers!
I've not got a Cudeman yet. Definitely want one in the collection.
I like the uniqueness of the notch mechanism.
Hope you are well, my friend? I'm hopefully going to get an open tag out Friday by Bakery Wizard.....French Fridays. Be brilliant if you could show some of your brilliant French knives again?
Cudeman seems like a great 'value knife' if this one's anything to go off of. The notch is unique, and I really like the concept of it. Bridging the gap between slipjoint and locker!
I'm doing well, thank you! Yourself?
I'll try to take part in the Open Tag, although Fridays tend to be the most chaotic...but we'll see!
Cheers, as always!
I like it
It's a nice one.
Cheers!
Lovely knife.
Thanks for watching! Cheers!
Looking at mine the other day, I noticed it has a kind of rudimentary “lock”. The notch mechanism you describe is evident and does make a difference!👍 PS nice trout and bird or “gentleman’s” knife!
Interesting discovery, huh?
Cheers!
@@TheKnifeRaven Wonder why they don’t advertise it? Maybe afraid people would depend on it? (Which you shouldn’t)
@@dougdumbrill7234 That's a good theory. People may think it's a fully-locking knife, when it's just an enhanced slipjoint.
Cheers!
What a ingenious idea! Love that mechanism, a slipjoint on steroids 😀
Not sure about the Stiletto name for this one but it looks like a fantastic and pointy blade shape.
Would make a great edc working blade.
Wonder if they make a slightly smaller (UK friendly) version?
Great video, understood your explanation perfectly 😀
Thanks for this one brother 😎🙏🏻
I sure love the design, both the look *and* the mechanism!
"Stiletto" sure is an odd description to me, but perhaps the Spanish and Portuguese have a different definition than the Italians? 🤔 Either way, it's pointy enough!
As far as I know, there isn't a smaller version, but then again, I've hardly researched!
Thanks for watching and I'm glad my narration wasn't *too* confusing!
Cheers, as always!
@@TheKnifeRaven Quick update…..
Cudeman do a mini version of this with a 7cm (2.75”) blade!
😀
Very interesting!
What a fine little knife.
I’ll definitely look into their knives.
Good stuff as always, mate 👊🏻
Thanks for stopping by!
Cheers, as always!

You’re welcome!
Excellent review as always and a very appealing knife. Now for the tortuous question! If you could only have one knife from your collection for the rest of your life - which would it be? 😮
Oh dear, the dreaded question! 🤔
I suppose I'll get one thing out of the way by saying it wouldn't be the Spyopera...against my better judgement. I love that knife, but I'd take a traditional.
Part of me wants to say a TEW Slim Barlow, but I'd probably end up going with an Ettrick from either M. May, or Steven Cocker.
Surprisingly, the question became a lot easier with personal preference over simply picking based on "overall utility".
What's your choice?
Cheers!
@@TheKnifeRaven An Opinel No 5 but it would be painful to let everything else go!
@@matthewrix2164 Good choice!
I'd be heartbroken having to only pick one, I'd feel like a traitor to all the others! 😅
Cheers!
@@TheKnifeRaven I know but this knife collecting business is a mental illness - we all need psychiatric help 🤣🤣🤣
@@matthewrix2164 But do we? Maybe *one more knife* will fix the need for a further collection... 😁
I looked at that knife some time ago and toyed with buying it and reprofiling the blade to make it UK legal but as I already had two other knives i had reprofiled I didn't bother, I think shortening the blade would spoil the look of the knife, plenty of legal UK knives on the market now.
Well, it would be a nice collection piece for a good price.
Sadly, you would need to reprofile it for the UK...something I'd personally avoid, but that's just me!
Either way, it's a nice little piece!
Cheers, as always!
Nice looking but not UK legal unfortunately 😐
Sadly not...
Cheers!
