95 Yamaha wave runner takes on water and I’m not sure where the water would be coming in at I have not gotten to rot in two years or ever even wrote the thing my son Roger it used to race buoys in the ocean so it goes pretty fast but it also has a bilge pump that is not connected so I’m not sure if we connect to Village Park will pump the water out is the question and where is the water come in and out is the other question

    the other isn’t functioning (anymore)
Tried to start it at the gentlemen’s house it cranked just fine brought it home and I press the start button It just clicks…
Took apart the ECU used a screwdriver to arc the thing to start and nothing (I’ve tried 3 new batteries a starter module form my 1998 and nothing is working…
I’m new to skis any help would be awesome!

Try turning the engine by hand then see if it will turn over. Could be a loose wire or bad connection at the starter. If you cant turn the engine by hand you have serious engine problems.

First off I truly appreciate your response and appreciate your attention to detail in filming and wording with your repair videos!!!
      You’re freaking awesome!
The engine turns by hand I checked.!
On my 1998, WaveRunner the engine does not turn by hand.
I’m thinking of putting the working and running engine from the 94 in the 98 will that work?

@willwitt1020 Most yamaha engines will fit into other yamaha hulls. Remember though the exhaust is tuned to each engine based on displacement. Same size engine should be no issues. Check the measurement from engine to the drive coupling to make sure the fit is right. Better yet ask the Jet ski store in Florida or Erickson's machine and performance about the swap. They may have done it before. I never have.

@kimstikeleather679 You need to make sure your spark plug boot doesnt have the end of a plug unscrewed and stuck inside. If it doesnt tighten it by squeezing it shut a bit. The leak...no way for me to know. Put it in the lake with the seat off and watch where water is coming in. Probably from the jet pump area or maybe the exhaust seal.

Watching you struggle through this was awesome to watch! Ohm tester would've been much easier. lol. It doesn't matter witch plug wire goes to what plug. Can go to either. Those 760's are amazing motors. 701's too! Cheers.

I wondered about that because supposedly these both fire on every stroke. I started working on cars with points and cap and rotor buttons so the firing sequence always mattered. Those days are gone.

@@ShadetreeJetski these darn 2 strikes. Wasted spark system. The Yamahas main problem is their kill switch. The safety lanyard button/spring contacts get corroded. Causing weak or no spark. Loved watching the video!
