Eeprom programmer give " can't read it, eeprom area locked" and commander after a few tries with " trying different login codes " give " wrong security / login code ". I have tried many methods with info found on internet , connected with blue kkl cable and with serial cable, same result. I read somewhere that it would be immo3 crypto and it can only be read directly from the memory, with a programmer. This is true? I also tried crypto/ set as new etc... No result.
So this working both with hex but genuine . Mine is not genuine and vag-k+can ft cable vag dash commander? is better maybe for eeprom I want to read pin so I can code programme remote😀 Now I bought both those 🤔but from car directly
Well, I bench connected the cluster now and everything worked. @@darekpyzik1406 yes that's all you need. Follow any obd2 pinout and a pinout for the Audi car you have. Then it needs power and ground coming out. Which you power up separately
Yes there's a way to do this. I still haven't made the video yet. There are usually wiring differences between different generations though. So you might need a few looms depending how many different cluster you want to work on.
@@ianpgonzaga I was planning to make a universal cable for most VAG models with different type of plugs. My car uses a black 8 pin plug and a green one for example. The Passat B5.5 use only blue and green. So I believe the OBD2 will stay the same but the different plugs to each cluster changes. My car audi a3 2002. year was stolen. I found and returned the car, but now the immobilizer light flashes constantly. The car can start with any key. The immo light flashes all the time while the engine is running. How do I fix this?
Sounds like it’s been IMMO defeated. You can also interrogate the ECU to get the correct data which you can see in the bottom of the VAG eeprom program window. You can then use this information to write that data back into the cluster so it can all match properly.
@@ianpgonzaga Do I have to take out the main ecu on the bench or get the data from the cluster like on this video. Can i do that in the same program like this video?
Yes take out the main data from the ecu on the bench and also the data from the cluster. Then you match it. You will see right away which component (either ecu or cluster) is the correct VIN. Use the data set that matches the vehicle VIN plate.

Is it possible to do a read modify write of the EEPROM? In other words if I cant read EEPROM from original cluster can I read new cluster, then modify VIN, PIN code etc and write back? Is there a checksum that has to be recalculated and updated as well?
I’ve only ever manually transferred chunks of data by knowing original data and manually typing it into the replacement cluster. I’ve never not been able to read original cluster data. I’m pretty sure there will be checksums that need calculating if you’re modifying without knowing the complete data sets from original cluster. It’s strange you can’t read one cluster but the other.
@@ianpgonzaga Ian, thanks for the speedy response. FT232 Cable is arriving today so don't know for sure just yet that I can read either cluster. Car wont run but a few seconds now with old cluster consistent with it being totally dead, no odo or other signs of life. My day job includes SMT electronics hand assembly so not afraid to move chips between clusters however its not clear to me that the MCU which hosts the EEPROM is not in fact the very component that is dead on my old cluster.
