I like many just dumped some paint in there, didn't know to clean it first, didn't know anything about oil, didn't know to thin the paint, didn't know the thing came apart at all, just started spraying right out the box. excellent information & video brother. thumbs up

I purchased one of HF paint guns today. Was spraying away until it quit after about a minute. I tried cleaning it, clearing it and thinning the paint (which was already like water) but couldn't get it to work. Took it back to HF and spoke with the manager. He suggested trying a different item number on the box as HF contracts with different companies to make the gun. The item # of the one that went bad was: 63 something, something, something. The next one I got that's working like a champ is: 63452. The cup is larger on 63452 and it's louder and heavier. Chris is correct on everything. Get hearing protection for sure. I am painting the walls in my garage which is drywall that was previously painted white. There's overspray all over the floor under the walls which isn't a big deal in there, but if you tried painting a room in the house, you better have plastic on every inch of surface you don't want paint on. Since it's a garage, I picked up 2 gals of Walmart's cheapest white paint. It still needs thinned down. I don't know if it's just cheap paint, but it's going to take at least 2 coats to cover. And yes, have a roller handy. When you're learning how to use the gun, you're going to have runs, lot's of 'em.

just make sure you get some air tool oil and lube that piston... im pretty sure thats why it worked so well... and when you clean it after use... oil it again
Chris Craft my Home Depot only had Throat Seal by Graco. Not sure if that's gonna do it but I'll find out soon enough. Seems like a fairly thick liquid from what I can see tho.

I thought I would use it with the color if this went well. But thanks to your video I now know I can kilz 100% but not finish painting.

Thanks, I was to clear coat my kids wooden play swing / even though the box doesn`t says it`s for oild based paints. But in the in the instructions, it clearly say it will. LOVE IT
Pentrol flow control for latex paints is used to thin. Water or other water based usage will thin the paint for sure but what it is really doing is creating a molecular separation between the titanium dioxide molecules. This type of thinning will change the characteristics of the paint that make the paint do what bought it for. That is coverage, adhesion, elasticity of its resins and type of sheen. Using FLOWTOL/ PENTROL is an additive that changes the friction coefficient of the titanium dioxides allowing them to flow easier. As the paint cures the molecules of paint retain there designed characteristics by maintains their molecular affinity. Basically water creates separation and flowtrol creates lubrication.

Just painted our new edition with it well worth the money easy to use the oil for the Piston you can get from Sherwin-Williams for about the same price works great no issues
Thanks, I just bought one today at Harbor Freight for painting basement sill plate that I sprayed with foam for insulation. Painting it with a latex paint to make it somewhat fire resistant and to make it look better. Wish they would have told you what the different fan ends were designed for !,
Useful information, especially about thinning. Just bought one of these to paint the exterior of my mom's house. It's stucco and rough so I expect it will take longer and require brush/roller assist but I am hoping for the best.
I'm about to use one for some stucco too, stucco just eats up paint and using a roller or a brush just takes forever. Spray guns were made for fences and stucco and cabinetry and well 100 other things probably 😂
Great video as I easily understood what you were explaining. I was kind of bummed when you said that “you’d have problems using it for ceilings”. That’s why I bought it. I thought I was going to die using a roller. I’m still going to give it a go. I’m just too weak for that roller and extension pole. Hopefully it’ll work for me, if not, back to the roller set up and I can use the sprayer on the walls knowing that’ll work. Thank you!
Funny man,we put SuperClean diluted 2-1 and clean engines,inside car sills and gas cap compartments, it’s fast and we can narrow down the pattern. At 175 PSI,not too strong,but it reaches points we cannot touch. Many other uses in car detailing. 🤜🤜🇱🇷
I give up. It seems to use too much paint and it kept sputtering on me. I have had the biggest mess with each project I did. I tried a bookcase and then chunk beds that had a lot of spindles. Your video was awesome and you also suggested that the paint sputters. Good job.
This video will save me a lot of time trying to figure out this spray gun. I just bought one myself and thought that I would check on here to see if someone else has used it. By the looks of it, the sprayer does a good job. I just have to make sure that I thin the paint appropriately.
Hi Chris very educational video. I watched probably all of Videos pertaining to this particular spraygun. By far yours most educational. I found according to the directions, velocity sitting about 25/26. My paint is still running. When I go to make it thicker than the spraygun screws up. And since this is an old video I don’t know if you’ll get this message or not but what do you think I should do. Keep making these videos you were very good at explaining thoroughly. Thank you Libby
I gotta tell ya, Add the cleanup and taping to the timeline and I’m not so sure the juice is worth the squeeze. At the “on sale” price point that sprayer is almost a disposable tool, but even if you cleaned it I doubt it would be good for many jobs. So I bought one to paint some shutters (off house) because I can’t get my color in a spray can and shutters are a pain to brush. Thanks for the tips. I also have some flowtroll that is for thinning paint. If I can find it I may give that a try. Appreciate your video!
Mine didnt come with that white gasket on the top of the lid, I tried to paint a long fence, a house, garage and shed, I ended up packing it up & returning it, faster & easier to do it by brush by hand! Looks way better, saved paint, and no hassles! This gun is one huge hassle!
I'm definitely liking the video, and this has me 100% not buying this product. It's on sale and I have to paint. It seems time consuming and honestly I think I can paint the room faster. It's almost true about the anti-freeze, cuz see where i live we get extreme temperature and if I forget to mix in the antiFreeze at night the thing clogs with ice crystals and seizes up, but then in the day-time also need plenty to keep the paint from actually boiling and popping the reservoir. I also need to remember to pickup some 5W30 for it when i get back to earth. Live long and Use the spray-force, guys!
Just got finished using mine tried to paint front room walls. Didn't turn out so well at 20 seconds to paint was too thin intended to run and pool I'll spend the next 3 hours cleaning up the mess. Thank God it's latex. And thank God for Goof Off

There should've been an extended tip that came with it, might help with ceiling painting, not saying it will help ,but ya never know til ya try

watch my conventional spray gun video.. ( you can get one for like $20 ) I would only use this gun for big projects

Didn't that piece come with a secondary tip? I could be wrong, but I thought it came with a focused fan tip for doing doors, cabinets, etc...
