I got one to paint osb. Did not think it would last past one day. To use with latex I had to thin it to nearly 1/3rd water and latex paint. I will say at that mixture there was no clumps or odd spray pattern. When I was done for the day I ran it with hot soapy water twice and then 2 drops of 3n1 oil. A year later it still worked!

Have had this sprayer on a shelf for several years and decided to pull it out. Prior to looking at your video, I read all the instructions and when it said not to use it on latex paint i boxed it back up. I saw your video and then read the box side as you did where it says there is a latex nozzel. Damn.
This thing was the best 15 dollars i ever spent with a 25% off coupon. I also had better luck with leaving the paint thicker then they reccomend for overspray control, lasting longer and less runs. If it breaks they got a 90 day warranty on it too with reciept.
Im with ya on the best $ spent. Cant beat it for the price. I'll try leaving the paint thicker and see how it turns out. Thanks for the advice and for telling about your experience with this product.. Have a good one and thanks for watching

Thinning is most important to prevent sprayer from clogging
saw another video of this. Worked great then acted like on crack. What he found out is there is a metal piston and once he took that out and sanded a bit it kicked butt. Guess the small burr or whatever being smoothed out prevented the piston from gumming up.
Sand the piston and do disassemble the assembly during cleaning
When spraying just figure that you need to cover everything that you are not painting which includes yourself. Whether you are using the best spray equipment or the cheapest the same rule applies. Since you are spraying water base paint you do not need to use paint thinner to clean the overspray from your windows. spray water then use a razor to remove the paint. you can use a steamer and wire brush or soft brush to clean it off the cement. It is easier to mask off the area rather than have to work harder cleaning up EVERYTHING you didn't intend on spraying.
It looks like you're holding a really holding a close distance?
I saw Maxbond Acrylic Latex paint recommends a 0.015 - 0.019 spray tip -- at 2000 psi. LOL,
I think this unit has a working pressure of 175 psi, so I don't know what to do with that info.
I believe that you're supposed to pull the pickup tube loose and put a little oil in both holes.
Of course as you showed, when you disassemble to clean unit you can apply some oil more directly.
I used mine today for the first time (NIB on my shelf for a couple years). New plywood siding panels. Too much overspray. Regulator adjustment didn't resolve but maybe it requires experience / a finer touch. Wish I had just rolled it since I can just lay the panels flat. The honey color paint was close to the original wood color so it was hard to tell how good a coat I was laying down. Will do another coat with roller.
I will likely use it again next year on an existing wood siding shed.

Looks like a handy spray unit. I'm right in the middle of a construction sheet rock project and need to find e resonable way to texture the walls.

I bought this exact paint sprayer from Harbor freight, and after THINNING the paint to the PROPER VISCOSITY.....it did NOT VAPORIZE paint into the air like yours did (your paint was TOO THICK), and I adjusted the needle control to very low setting which made the gun throw a light, but very good coverage fan of paint. As for the noise....yep, not good without ear protection INSIDE, but doing OUTSIDE projects it’s ok, just annoying BUT paints large areas QUICKLY and evenly. I had very few problems. The thinner the paint the MORE EVEN it throws it out without spitting and vaporizing excess paint into the air. Using thinner paint also let me cover a large area
(50 sqft or so) PER CONTAINER full.
Got to smarter than the paint gun man! Good Luck!

So everytime you add paint to the gun container you have to go through the whole process of cleaning? Or can that be done once you have completed the project?
It said every time. So that’s what I did. I want to finish a review on it and see how it works after setting up but the rain won’t quit here. It’s been raining every weekend

Which way is your suction tube? If you spraying up it needs to be pointed towards you and spraying down it needs to be pointed away from you. Thats ehy you thought it was out of paint you had tube pointed in the wrong direction

Looks like you might wanna thin the paint down a little more and BACK UP. Just saying. Did you get any scrape marks from the nozzle hitting the peg board? Lol. Good review and very informative. Thank you for your time sir.
I got a very similar(copy I think) of this sprayer, offcourse chinese, it cost me around 35 USD and it does not come with extended nozle or cylinder set and I can not adjust the spray from circular to vertical or horizontal.
Plus you cant adjust its speed.
Also two tips from my side. It can spray really high viscosity paints aa well I once sprayed coal tar based paint which is really thik. And for cleaning I fill it up with thinner and spray as much I think is appropriate in a bucket and then use it again and again but quite a quanity escapes. So, try both things at your own risk. Whenever it gets stuck, stop spraying and clean it first.
And man our booklet is also same. Do not use it with wet hands it can give you a shock.

Says not to let it sit for more than 5 minutes or it will clog & also says you can adjust the spray according to the back knob and maybe that is contributing to your over spray issue?

I rarely say this about a new 2 worse I don't know the last time are dead but I had to make a point to stop what I was doing in the middle of this bathroom reno just to tell you how much anxiety you can give someone in less than 12 minutes. Think I was able to get down and shut it off because anxiety and tearing off on me this was absolutely overwhelming to listen to.

I found that the paint has to be really really thin to work in this sprayer. 😁👍 the overspray is horrible lol.
@@VansWorld I painted the boat today. I did a few test runs with the spray gun and found a good ratio of paint/water and this cheap Harbor Freight paint sprayer is excellent for the money. Itd be a really good tool if they could do some mods to control the over spray to lay the paint better. Other than that no complaints.

Thanks for the question and comment. I did use it to spray some doors. I didn't get to video it though. It worked great. Lots of oversprays outside too. Luckily I don't have any neighbors cars near me. I took them out the far back of my yard to spray them. I screwed a 2x4 into a tree and hung the doors on it using a flower pot screw in ring. i hope that made sense. lol It kinda did when I read what I wrote. haha

The paint jar leaks on my Krause & Becker spray gun. It looks like the rubber gasket on the gun side isn't thick enough. It's about 3 yrs old, but was "brand new" in an unopened box. This was the first time trying to use it. The gasket isn't damaged in any way, just seems too thin. Does anyone know if you can get a replacement gasket?

It really does. That’s the only time I’ve used it so far. I need to use it again to paint my shed.
Would you recommend using this sprayer for primer and latex paint to give a old steel cabinet and shelving new life? They were going to be used for garage storage?
Sure. But thin the paint out a lot. And use the right tip. This sprayer comes with a couple tips of different sizes.

im trying to do a fast and quick paint job on an old Bronco. Would anyone be able to recomend using this to do so? I am not looking for the most amazing quality paint job Im simply trying to give it a nice color and only ONE color because its primer, red on one door and green on the other. I have finally primered it all black with rattle can primer and thought about buying this spray gun to do a final color.... thoughts and opinions please....
Shane hardesty I’ve seen a guy paint a car with that sprayer. If you thin it down enough it should do great. Are you going to use auto paint with hardner in it ?

Nice review thanks. I bought one of these a couple years ago and looks like it has improved somewhat. In my opinion though...this piece of junk is meant to be one time use then throw it out!

What kind of oil did you use for lubricant? I bought throat seal by Graco that was recommended online but the sprayer keeps getting clogged.
Wagner piston lube from Amazon. Should be a link in the video description. But Lowe’s has it too. For like $7 have a great weekend. It’s cold as heck here in Georgia right now 😁👍

They’re not marked lol. Or I didn’t see where they’re marked. I used a crafting needle to see the size. The more the crafting needle poked out shows the bigger diameter hole.

I have the same problem. They don't tell you ANYTHING about the nozzle tips. 3 different ones (maybe) but nothing in the manual or on the tips.

Cant get clean enough or oiled well enough for multiple uses. Its a one and done sprayer
brush and roller would have been just as quick and cleaner. sprayer has only one adjustment. spray is very inconsistant...heavy then light and heavy then light...was painting cedar fence and has to go over everything with a brush to even out the coverage. it was worth the $40 at Harbor Freight...should have paid for the better and known brand name.

This spray use 0.8 mm nozzle. Dont give thick paint.
if there is a lot of over spray, you might consider wearing a mask
I would recommend anyone spray painting to wear a respirator. You probably need hearing protection for this loud tool also. ha

A cheap Harbor Freight gun is still a complete waste of time. Cheap tools represent the single biggest mistake DIYers make when approaching these types of projects. Also, never look at tools as an expense ~ they are an investment that you can sell once the job is done, and in the end it will cost less than renting. Best budget HVLP Systems: 1st choice: Fuji 2202 Semi-PRO 2 & 2nd choice: Earlex HV5500.

Not foe detailed pieces like furniture you couldn't have. This gets in cracks that a roller couldn't.
This is so true. Also as for the sealer. Good luck getting into all the nooks and crannies of a deck with a roller or a brush.

I got one of these, worked great for ten minutes, then it didn’t want to spray anymore, tried recleaning, it would not even spray water, not to give up on it, took it apart soaked all parts in a solvent made for spray guns, relubed, it spayed water again, and all that for another 10 minutes of paint spraying, absolutely garbage.
Your right it isn’t a good product for paint. But it works great to spray sealer on decks and fences. 👍😁 thanks for leaving a comment and as always thanks for watching

Works great but it does use a lot of stain and sealer if you don’t dial it back.

I think this unit is garbage. Sputtered with in minutes. I will give it a shot again after watching this. I've used way better electric sprayers. Not nearly as temperamental.

@@VansWorld harbor freight sells an airless system for 200 and if your doing anything of size i highly recommend it, much faster and not annoying to use.
