I'm a retired airline pilot, so I'm tired of having to choose between an ebike and a fully restored P-51 Mustang!
I just checked out the $6000 (U.S.) Elite 3. In a medium, it's 45 pounds, 11 ounces or 20.7 Kg. That's very reasonable! Nice and quiet, good app adjustability. This could be the one for me! Buy 2 and have enough left over for 2 range extenders.
Honestly, this bike at $6k is way more impressive than an 18.8Kg bike no one can afford!
Plus, I'd pay extra for NO LIVE VALVE!

Absolutely, keep it simple. Or at least, relatively simple...

A pilot, probably one of the few who can afford these overpriced bicycles

Hi Giant, where can I find the bottle shaped range extender??! Does it fit in a Trance Medium?

Kudos to Giant for raising the bar a bit in the e mtn bike category. Perhaps I'm dreaming but someday we will have a classic Trance swoop frame, and e components be backward/forward compatible? Joe Average E bikers just want hours, not marketing changes each year. Much like a classic old car, perhaps dropping a new engine/battery etc. is not too far off? I see this bike as perfect for the riding couple. Having put 2500 miles on the 2021 Giant Trance E+29er at higher elevation rides a lighter overall bike makes a massive difference in cadence, flickability and the DH is less of an out of control train. This makes the new Stance E a bit of a dog though!

Ugh. So much wrong with this approach. I'm sure it is a great bike, but in 5 years time how will you service any of it? Internal headset cable routing, one piece bars, size specific grips, and then there's the battery and motor support. If Giant decide not to support any of that (or even just make service prohibitively expensive), the bike becomes more landfill, recycling and e-waste. The lower range models in this line up make more sense. At least on some of the range the prices are not as stratospheric as they were previously and might even be dropping back a lot.
