    i wish i could remember the series and what motor it was, however the White tractors had a serious problem with the water pump shaft. i was in high school at the time they came out and was taken my Mill Wright classes when our family farm Nieghour's white tractor broke that water pump shaft again. I took the shaft to school and turned 20 of the shafts making them tempered. i sold those shafts to the Cockshut/white dealership after the nieghbour told them about me making the shafts for him. sorta blowing my own horn he never ever did have problems breaking the shaft again after putting in the one i built.

    The articulating 4wd's, including jd, mf, and others, all look so nose heavy. Most of the weight is on the front axle, its hard to imagine the rear wheels would pull as much as far as equal power distribution goes.
    I was surprised to hear this has a 3208 in it. I drove a smaller white once. A FWA, it was a very awkward tractor till you got used to running it.

      torque is key

    • @ChevyConQueso
      @ChevyConQueso 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@a.sandrocagliostro2517 Torque is actually a pretty worthless measurement that is mostly used for sales comparisons, but I get what you mean. Big diesels in trucks, tractors, locomotives etc. have always been rated in horsepower at normal operating speed, because torque doesn't have a time factor built in to the measurement, so it doesn't tell us how much work is actually being done, or how much it can do in a specific amount of time. 225 hp doesn't sound like very much, especially with where car and pickup power ratings have gone, until you realize that it is being done at a very low engine speed. A 225 hp V8 pickup engine has to spin ~5000-6000 RPM to get that rating, almost 3 times as fast, and it won't live nearly as long doing it, especially if it were placed in a machine like this.
