Are you in quarantine at your parents' house? Do you like the aesthetics of your room? In this Pinterest inspired room makeover video, I transformed my parents' overwhelmingly dark brown bedroom (which happens to be where I spend 23 out of 24 hours of the day, minus the one in the bathroom) into a pinterest inspired aesthetic dream. I painted a green accent wall (you are welcome for the time lapse), imported an excessive amount of plants and rattan decor, spent a week to stain two shelves, and voilà, did I mention I love the final result? Also there might be a mild level of quarantine frustration and micro aggression towards certain shelves, rugs, walls, and paint brushes. Enjoy.

I LOVE THE GREEN!!!! I googled emerald green as I want this colour for my feature wall in my living room and your video came up, I’ve looked everywhere and can’t find the shade of green I want in paint, so the idea of mixing black into the green...brilliant! I’m going to try this.
Yesss! So glad your problem is SOLVED. Quick tip - experiment with the black ink in small amounts. It can take a while for it to be completely mixed in the green, and a little bit of black ink goes a longgg way. Good luck!!

GIRL! You are hardcore!!! I work at a paint store and we only hand mix when the shaker machines are broken. But even then we have specific paddles to make it as easy as possible. Amazing dedication to the craft. Great work!

Beautiful decorating work, I love dark woods but I completely understand how it can make a room feel darker
I work with wood daily as I'm a carpenter, if you need to stain wood use solvent stain and a rag, rather than paint and a brush, much nicer finish 💜
Obv I'm lazy and I use a spray gun and a compressor 😅 but when I only have small pieces to do I use a rag

Hey! This is the exact problems I have in my space and the color I want too! But I’ve been getting a lot of disapproval with the dark green haha also chinese. How’s it been now that it’s been 4 months? Do you feel like it’s too dark? (I also have dark brown bed + side tables, floor and big window on the side)
Haha I'm very lucky that my parents are okay with me messing around🤪I'm still loving the colors! It doesn't feel too dark because I have a huge window, but in one of my previous apartments dark colors didn't work out very well because there wasn't a lot of natural light. If you can't paint the walls maybe dark green plants would help too?
