- Watch the tense new trailer for Batman: Arkham Shadow to learn about the story of this upcoming VR action game. The trailer dives into the chaos in Gotham City brought on by the villain, the Rat King. Batman: Arkham Shadow will be available on Meta Quest 3 in Fall 2024.
It’s the Fourth of July, and Gotham City is besieged by a new threat: the mysterious Rat King and his cultish devotees. Public officials have been abducted, including Batman associates Commissioner Jim Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent. The Rats have pledged to execute them in one week’s time for “crimes committed against the people of Gotham City.”
As widespread rioting engulfs the city, Batman races to prevent this so-called “Day of Wrath,” but it all goes wrong.
Batman: Arkham Shadow is set between the events of Batman: Arkham Origins and Batman: Arkham Asylum, and features the origins of iconic characters like The Scarecrow, Harley Quinn, and more, as Batman grapples with the contradiction at the core of his identity-the use of force in pursuit of peace.

Having Roger Craig Smith as the voice actor for Batman was one of the best decisions WB games has made in a list of hundreds of bad ones.

Easily possible in VR. VR doesn't always have to be you embodying the character. VR can be 3rd person gaming too. Being immersed in the world with depth is what counts not seeing the world out of a small 2d window.

its my opinion this is new era for arkham verse, after they fail on sskjl. they make this game just for audience who miss arkham batman, and this game maybe just a start after they release this project they will make another AAA batman games. fans waiting for 10 years to get another batman games, wb was canceling batman beyond project and choose to end arkham verse with sskjl, and after so many people love arkham knight and modding that game, hope wb realise their mistakes. Lets Hope they create another timeline for this frenchise like capcom did. who create RE7 after they fail on RE6. Hope the story still conected to arkham trylogy and doesnt connected to sskjl keep batman stay in gotham or Just make JL or superman arkham verse games for next project. I'm just going to go out on a limb and say there's a twist involving Joker. Because it's just not an Arkham game without him.
People will complain about how games nowadays aren't the same, and how everything is repetitive in the scene, but when gaming evolution and new ideas are presented to them they reject it and beg for the same old flatscreen game that there's like 30 of.
