    Matt, not gonna lie, but there has been a little part of my life where you have inspired me to change careers, so that I can enjoy and afford the things I love, and that’s cars. There have been some comments I’ve made that maybe others and yourself haven’t liked, but they were never meant for ill intent. I enjoy your videos, and your life inspired me to do something different with mine 🙂

  • @afhyoutube

    Matt, I like when you do a ''reflection'' of the car while you are editing the video like you did here. Gives another perspective when your heart isn't racing.

    Porsche ad before the video was bad ass made the actual video from Matt even better

    Nice video bud. You looked a bit nervous while driving the beast and did not push the car at all to experience what it is all about, but I do understand, and especially being for the first time in such rare expensive car, but I still enjoyed the video very much. If you ever in the Portland area, or come to visit Dundon you are more than welcome to drive mine and have my blessing to push it a bit harder and do another review for your viewers.

    An amazing car, love this kind of videos. I still prefer and enjoy more a 991.2 manual GT3, nothing better that pure N/A sound, plus more practical IMO.

    Water injection should be spraying the intercooler not the turbo and I don’t see the reason not getting the titanium roll cage!

      You can't get a roll cage in the USA due to DOT regulations.

    the position of your car, the fact that you were clearly behind the line and still rolling backwards tells me that the guy on the bike was looking for those other folks that were already pulled over and he realized it too late and locked up the brakes. he almost rolled passed the rest area , nothing to do with you about to pull out, it was all him so relax and get some sleep tonight lol .

    Must have been fun! I’m glad you expressed your opinion as ‘it doesn’t suit my tastes as well as the GT3’, instead of saying that the 2 RS isn’t good, or something like that. Keep up the honesty 👍!

    Beautiful area of NC to do the drive. With Parkway limiting your speed to 45, next time I'd suggest, if you have not done it, take 64 to Highlands and Cashiers. In my opinion, more fun than even Tail of the Dragon. Love your car and nice review of the fancier Porsche too. Thanks for posting.

    In the 991.2 GT3 manual transmission the PDK+ button engages the rev matching when downshifting.

    • @ObsessedGarage
      @ObsessedGarage  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Manual has a "Sport" button that replaces the PDK Sport one and does indeed engage auto rev match.

  • @albatrosrexha1593

    its interesting, your perspective on the car seems to match most other drivers, the car is WAY too easy to drive and give the driver a false sense of skill and that it doesn't feel like it is really that fast (obviously generally speaking the car is stupid fast) since it is so well built and solid. Great video

    Great video Matt!! As to the car itself, this one is definitely not for me. Even though the prices are down to about $420,000, the issue for me is that the next one of these, will be out in a couple years time and it definitely will be better. In the end of the day, this is just a 3.8 L turbo with a PDK. Manual trans GT3, on the other hand, I don’t think we will see another on of these.

    Interesting to see that there was no roll cage, I believe there is an option of the weissach package without the roll cage but I don’t see why it would not be selected. Perhaps Mat can provide some insight to this.
    Ps, great and entertaining video!

    • @hack169

      Why would it be selected is the question?

    • @anelkovac1782

      No roll cage for NA cars

    • @caramelslice1748
      @caramelslice1748 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Anel Kovac I don’t believe this to be true as the gt3rs is NA and contains a roll cage. If there were to be the case although it is not wouldn’t the gt2rs have a roll cage as it is not NA.

    • @anelkovac1782
      @anelkovac1782 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The GT3 RS does not get roll cage in NA either
      US Department of Transportation / National Highway Traffic Safety Administration rules & regulations. As interpreted by Porsche (correctly no doubt), it prevents the fitment of 'race track' roll bars to a street vehicle imported into the US! American safety regulations state the cabin can't house non-deformable objects that can injure the head of an occupant not wearing the seat belt.

    • @caramelslice1748
      @caramelslice1748 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Anel Kovac I feel as though there may have been a misunderstanding, just to clarify with you are you referring to NA as ‘Naturally Aspirated’. Secondly Mats gt3 rs is in the Us and has a roll cage so I don’t quite follow.

    also does your GT3RS have a fuse for the exhaust valves? reason I ask is because the vettes that have dual mode exhaust will have the valves closed at low rpm and only open past a certain RPM, however they are vacuum AND electrically controlled and have a fuse on a dedicated circuit. enter the "mild-2-wild" switch, a manual switch to toggle modes or what i did was built a wireless switch with a fob so i could control the exhaust valves from my pocket while at a car show. how it works is when you disable power from the circuit (i.e. pull the fuse) the valves will open and stay open. if this works and you make a video on it give me a shout out :) my obsessed house channel is now set to private, using it for reference only since the house is finally built.

    I can completely understand what you are saying, for my job i get to drive a lot of supercars but mainly Porsches over Lambo's,Ferrari's, Astons. For me my all time favorite car is the gen 1 991 GT3 RS, haven't driven gen2 GT3 RS yet. As for the GT2 RS there is indeed a drone but the car is just like a sweet butter knife going through everything! still i take a GT3 RS over everything and a Huracan :-)

    So is the PDK in this car similar to the PDK in the Turbo S or is it a beefed up version of the PDK-S from the GT3?

    • @ObsessedGarage
      @ObsessedGarage  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure, but I think it is PDK-S.

    • @GordonGEICO
      @GordonGEICO 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It would be interesting to know how interchangeable, if at all, the parts between PDK and PDK-S are. I know one major difference is the paddle neutral behavior. In both cars, while moving, pulling both paddles will put the car in neutral. The PDK-S, as I'm sure you're aware, allows the same behavior from a standstill without having to use the brake to re-engage gear, so it can be used as a clutch dump. I had a 981 Cayman S with the "regular" PDK and the paddle neutral was a fun little party trick, but couldn't be used as a poor man's launch control since it required the brake to re-engage gear while stopped.
      If the GT2RS does indeed have the PDK-S, that means they either swapped out some parts or it is managing the additional couple hundred ft lbs of torque very well since the GT2RS makes it much lower in the band than the GT3. I'm pretty sure even the regular PDK in the Turbo S already manages the torque with some slip to protect/allow it to perform repeated launches. And newer PDK can even slip between gears for fuel-economy, so they are pretty sophisticated.
      Anyways, cool vid, hope you enjoyed it.
