That's a nice find. I always loved those woodgrain Chrysler minivans, and it was my childhood minivan back when it was new (we never had a Town & Country, but we did have a Plymouth Voyager). It's hard to believe that this Town & Country came all the way from Peoria, IL since I'm from that area. I figured the engine was shot, so that might have been why the previous owner decided to retire it. But I hope this vehicle runs again since I always enjoy a good vehicle restoration.
Nice! I hope you can get it running, That engine sounds awful. Also that is one fancy van, That things got more useful luxuries than most new cars. New car definition of luxury is bigger uglier touch screen 🤣
Just based on the sounds from the video, I don't think it's bottom end. Hard to tell...if the oil pressure gauge is right though I'm thinking bad/stuck valve, which would maybe go in line with it sounding like it's galloping cranking. I also wouldn't assume just because the sticker says the oil was changed, that it actually was. The interior for the mileage and age is actually pretty nice, paint even looks saveable still.
@MNMoparMinivan those plugs looked quite ripe. I would think a damaged valve or rocker up top. Also the timing chain could be messed up and throwing the timing off.
Yo, my Subaru Legacy GT has the SAME EXACT issue. That'd be the A/C Comoressor. Be sure to check the pressure lines *Air Intake, Power steering, or any of the following hoses*. Or there's a clogged tube in your A/C Compressor. Either that or bad spark plugs, possibly spark plug wires too. Check fuses, relays, and any bad shorts on the wire. Possibly a bad starter fuse link located in the engine compartment fuse box. My guesses.
Check the flex plate on the trans. Some of those cracked. Pull the bolts out and see if you can move it CW and CCW Might be a cheap fix. Good video. Battery low on tablet gotta recharge do you mention what you paid? Happy Motoring.
@@MNMoparMinivan I'm seeing some for some good prices like five hundred bucks but they are way out in Pennsylvania. That is where I got my free bee from but hey it was free. Have a great day.
Hey there, nice van! One thing I noticed years ago and have wondered about since, is on the 94-95 model year Chrysler minivans that there is both and "O/D off" button and a '3rd' gear position on the gear shift. I have never seen that on any other vehicle with a 4-speed auto, usually it is one or the other. Do you have any idea why this would be the case or in your experience with owning it can you shed some light on that button's operation and this mystery for me? Thank you if you can!
I assume the O/D button will let the trans go into 4th gear but keep the torque converter "unlocked". That's my guess anyway. Hopefully someone can chime and and confirm or deny that
Ok I had that thought as well, but I wasn't sure if keeping the torque converter unlocked would really make all that much of a difference. Thanks for the response! I hope someone that knows for sure sees this and can confirm. Even though its trivial, I still want to know what Mopar was thinking there haha @@MNMoparMinivan
i'm just watching the TOM CRUISE'S movie "War of Worlds" and he drives a CHRYSLER or a PLYMOUTH VOYAGER... and i see that has the THIRD ROW ROLLING DOWN WINDOWS ... ¿¿ does the CARAVAN or the VOYAGER comes with that feature ???? ¿¿¿ or is just a movie made tune minivan ??? or did you know if it's possible to make that conversion ???
Pheeww....I'd like to look inside the motor to see what failed.
But great story anyways, love your euphoric work💪🏻
Thanks man! More to come on this engine ;)
That’s a super cool van, hope you can get it fixed!

That engine probably has well over 10,000 running hours on it because being in a large city meaning a lot of low speed and stop and go running. 😮😊
Sorry about the motor on the van is blown sounds like top end
That new cat is good to go lmao
🤣
Morning bud very nice van hope it runs but you can get it to run let me no if you get it to run

I hate the touchscreens!

I'm wondering if maybe the cam bearings are bad
Nice! I always loved the 94 T&C, I had a LOADED Caravan LE, the next best thing to the T&C, did you get a title? Just the top end? A valve job?
Stay tuned ;)
Morning sir any new videos coming out today or for the week just let me no ok thanks a lot I like your videos so much
Thank you!! I try to keep a schedule of Wednesdays and Saturdays. :)
@@MNMoparMinivan thanks very much then I will keep my eye out for you

@@carlbernard4197 Good eye... notice one of them has a gap not like the others? ;)

Unfortunately that happens with a vehicle this old. You could rebuild it if you like the van.
Wow you're close to where I live.😮😂
But you should look into Chesney's Junkyard located in Duluth. LOTS of GOOD vehicles there.
Shes mint
low mile 1 owner no engine noise
When will the next video come out on this van?
Sometime within this month I think. We shall see :)
These vans were like mushrooms in 80s. 90s. Now like bidfooy
I can garentee you can get a replacement motor running for less then 500$
Check the flex plate on the trans. Some of those cracked.

I've never seen any that rolled down. Weird lol
With all that rust I'd let go to the scrap yard
pull the valver covers probably a colapsed lifter and or broken valve spring
got a parts van from 94 4cyl, 3 speed bad engine and trans but lot of other parts if interested would be great dont wanna scrap it
@chaunceywatkins9578 are you local to MN area? Feel free to send me an email. MNMoparMinivan@gmail.com
Hmm... this looks familiar😉
You should have checked the plugs, wires and coil packs before you give up
Give up? Nah there's more to come on the engine. ;)
Bu araç nerde bana gösterge lazım
If it wasn't so rusty and had the space for it I'd say hellcat swap it lolol
