  • So, Gen Z is dealing with some serious stuff. The crazy speed of tech changes, shaky job scenes, loads of student debt, and environmental mess-ups paint a pretty gloomy picture for their future. And let's not forget the stress from social media-it's off the charts. Put it all together, and you get this vibe that Gen Z is up against some major hurdles, making their journey through this crazy world feel a bit doomed. In this video, we discuss all this and more.

    I am Gen z (17yrs)
I can see our entire generation is being destroyed by social media
We are in endless loop of reels, shorts 😐
I was in that loop but after spending months in that loop
I realised that this is gonna ruin my future
So I restricted myself and now
my screen time is less compare to my friend
Even in my family we have limited use of the internet
Just at dinner time we all sit and watch TMKOC old ep...
And laugh , share our thoughts with each other 😊😊😊
Ya my screen time is 10 hrs day but out of them 8 hrs are for my online classes
So I can feel a generation Gap between me and my friend 😌😌

I was born in 2000, but my parents never used a smartphone, so it wasn't till 18 I got even a personal phone, then next year I got a smart phone, so it's actually the parents themselves who are to be blamed.
I can't stop laughing when some parents complain about how their 3 yr old baby doesn't eat without watching Reel🤦‍♂️
Who ever GEN-Z watching this, I repeat who ever, please, as in next few years you will be parents yourself, teach children that reading book is a game, cause Knowledge is Power, this short reels will only create short attention span, inferiority complex and anxiety.

However, like me, those who choose to stay away from mainstream platforms often find themselves gravitating towards communication tools like Discord. But men doing the same since ages and still doing it isn't mentioned at all. You do understand men like Andrew tate and his fanbois exist right?? Who openly "promote" promiscuity and glorify it saying it's alpha sigma. Then there's this new age of men promoting passport bros as well. Where they are sleeping around in different countries and then they marry the "perfect woman". After sleeping with multiple women from different countries. And then y'all also playing your mental gymnastics to defend the same behaviour in men saying "how's it's easy for women to sleep but for a guy, he is needs to be a Chad". As if that justify their characterless behaviour.
What men has been doing all this time is fine and overlooked. But only women doing is pointed out and blamed. Y'all first need to accept that wokeness and vulgarity is fault of both men and women. Cause lowlife simps exist too. Who are equally responsible for downfall of society. But y'all always wanna blame one gender and don't wanna take accountability for your own gender. So much for "women aren't accountable"

Being a Gen-z, born and brought up in Kolkata, I agree to each and every point that has been mentioned here. Another big issue that arises in urban families is competition among cousins(as most of us live in nuclear families). I belong from an engineering family where my uncles , cousins are all engineers and are placed top tech companies. As a result of sibling rivalry we sometimes are being forced into a degree not by a our choice but according to the choice of family. This results into a sense of frustration and depression as we ourselves wanted to pursue some other career options but are compelled to do something else. And moreover our career choice would damage the social image of our parents as none has pursued that career option earlier in our family, according to our parents. This results in distraction which tends us more to social media in order to search for options to whom we could vent out our inner words. Parents are also now glued to mobile phones scrolling social media, children and parents living under the same roof but in different rooms creates a sense of loneliness among Gen z, which is also a major reason why Gen Z are more into social media. A lot of reasons combined together when gets collaborated makes a resultant impact on the lives of GenZ

  • @adax5163

Our generation was fortunate; everything around us evolved as we did. We grew up playing in the streets and alleys with our friends, engaging in friendly battles with siblings and parents over the TV remote (whether it was Doraemon or Gopi Bahu), and shedding tears in front of game stores for that coveted 100-rupee brick game. Our lives were balanced by the presence of friends, outdoor games, and TV.
The real concern today lies with those who are growing up in an environment where indoor entertainment knows no bounds. There are no internet limits, and a 100GB game can be downloaded in a matter of minutes. Children today struggle to consume a meal without a phone in front of them (unlike us, who had to resort to hacking our neighbor's WiFi to download Mini Militia on our parents' phones).
These children are likely to face significant challenges in the future. The generation born after us, whose parents are not part of Gen Z, might be unaware of the potential harm these activities pose to their children. It is crucial to address this issue collectively and take action to mitigate its impact. I am not attempting to be critical by comparing Gen Z to today's generation; instead, I hope there will be a unified effort to tackle this problem head-on.

Being a Gen-Z i realised how bad social media is for me around March this year. It destroys my self-confidence because i sorta forgot how to handle face to face communication. My daily routine is also in shambles because I spend 4+ hours a day on social media (even more time on my phone as a whole). Starting to pick apart my bad habits, consciously realise my bad habits and break it.
We all need to pick a "third-home" aka the concept of having a hangout/go-to spot such as neighbourhood park, the gym, the library, a music store, etc. This ensures you meet new people, interact with strangers and know how to be a person instead of a face-less stranger on the web.

I completely agree with the point about relationships. Gen z is not looking for a genuine emotional connection but a sense of instant gratification that is easy to achieve via social media. Just a few days ago, a confession page was showing up on my instagram for my department. Girls and boys from our class were objectified or complimented along with the offer to go on a date. Nobody seemed to have a problem with that, but personally I felt that that such pages kill the spirit of communication and interaction that comes with being involved in a romantic relationship.

This is a much needed video. As a Gen-z person I absolutely agree with everything you said. I myself shifted over 3 jobs now within 1 year and the reason was not able to fit in the corporate culture. I hate to blame my friends, social media and situations but it has become very difficult for us to face the reality at the end.
Even the social media looks down on 9-5 job culture and literally everyone wants to follow thier passion with base level knowledge and skills.
It’s high time for all of us to realise this and act accordingly.

Good, don't get into hookup or dating culture, it is where a girl loses her purity and self respect. Stick to arranged marriage and have your kids (natural birth) by 25. Kids born to women before 25 (women lose 90% eggs by 29) are more likely to be intelligent and healthy.

Even though I am a Gen-Z in a tier-1 city from Chennai, I fortunately realised that the path of social media and the hyper-fast internet is destined to doom gen-z. I realized it and didn't even plan to open social media until I was 18. I practiced self-control and self-conscious to the point that a notification buzz doesn't buzz my mind or even creates a FOMO effect on me as well. I feel that my friends are struggling in this aspect and ate unable to get out in that aspect. I use the internet to fullfill my needs and then use it and when not then i switch the router off not to only save internet and electricity bills but to save my peace of mind too. I've designated a time and a place to do it all.

Gen Z was rapidly moving away from spiritually and faith in its hindu roots. Thankfully I see a revival of sorts due to the current government. Even I was brought up as a non believer. Festivals were celebrations and nothing more. I was encouraged to follow a particular buddhist sect from Japan which was seen as trendy and sophisticated by my relatives. It took a lot of self introspection and inner dialog to align myself to my hindu/Sanatan roots.
