I remember when this game came out and GamePro gave it a 5/5 and all the other reviews said it was the best 2D fighting game ever. Those were the days....
+The Toontastic Toon GamePro was found in every elementary school desk. There was no internet. To know upcoming games you found a GamePro. It also gave you codes and other stuff including game ratings. Imagine IGN but in magazine form haha.
@@TraumaER EGM was still the better magazines in those days, it actually gave you a look at Japanese releases after the magazine was out for awhile, that is how I got to know the Parodius series, as well as Twinbee. Gamepro did the best coverage of the Japan only at the time Dracula X on the PC Engine CD though. The mags were full of crap though, this was far from the best 2D fighter at the time, but it was unique in having the combatants be dinosaurs.
Never played it in the consoles, only at the arcade. I was kinda baffled at the final gauntlet run because the dinos don't go invisible in the arcade version when they come, they will literally jump in as soon as the dead opponent poofs away. Still I hope this game makes a comeback.
WillBurgify Sega didn't have a transparency feature for their graphics. So, to make things look transparent, the sprites would flash. However, this would happen at 60FPS. TH-cam sports that format now. But, at the time this video was uploaded, only 30FPS was supported. Thus, there are moments where a frame is skipped during playback and you only see the frame when a character sprite disappears before it's re-drawn until another frame is skipped during playback and you only see the frames when a character sprite is drawn and the character looks "solid."
Anybody know if the cartridge works on sega genesis flashback? I been trying but it’s not registering. I bought it online so I don’t know if it’s a bad copy or it just doesn’t work on the console.
This certainly looks like a cool game! ..However, the heart explosions and brains and stuff... Jesus Christ.. I'm not used to seeing that stuff in games. :v
Y'know, I always wondered why games like these say "game over" regardless if you win or lose... why not say "congratulations" or "you won" at the end? Plus, it still uses the negative "game over" music if you win.. could at least be replaced with more positive game over music when you win..

I'm surprised they even bothered putting these on the 16 bit consoles when the Saturn and playstation versions were closer to arcade
PlayStation version is borderline unplayable due to the load times and constant slowdown. Haven't played the Saturn version yet though.
