    - About Dr. Mary Claire Haver and The Galveston Diet -
Dr. Mary Claire Haver is a passionate women’s health advocate who believes women in midlife deserve to live their best life. She cuts through fat-shaming and fads, so women are empowered with the science behind anti-inflammation nutrition.
Dr. Mary Claire Haver is a wife, mom, physician, and entrepreneur who has devoted her adult life to women’s health. As a Board-Certified OBGYN in the Houston area, Dr. Haver has delivered thousands of babies, completed thousands of well-woman exams, counseled patients, taught residents, and did everything an academic professor and OBGYN could do.
As her patient population aged, Dr. Haver was overwhelmed with the number of complaints and concerns her patients had with weight gain while going through menopause. For years, she told her patients to eat less and exercise more. It wasn't until she experienced the changes of menopause and mid-life weight gain that she realized this advice doesn't work and ultimately led to her creating and developing a new program, The Galveston Diet.
The Galveston Diet is the first and only nutrition program created by a Female OBGYN, designed for women in menopause. The Galveston Diet helps women reach their health and wellness goals through an anti-inflammatory approach to nutrition. Dr. Haver believes in food's power to combat inflammation and highly recommends the unlimited benefits of intermittent fasting. As part of her ongoing research, she became certified in Culinary Medicine in 2019, specializing in medical nutrition.

Save the parts of your vegetables that you throw away and make a vegetable soup base, add onion, garlic, and ginger, salt and pepper and you can put the veggie parts in and then cook, strain and end up with veggie broth 😊

I like to peel the lemons with a vegetable peeler, diced them up, and sprinkle them on the broccoli before I roast it. I will also put lemon peel in olive oil and gently warm it to flavor it. The Lish! The only thing is, if you don’t have a lemon tree you need to wash them pretty well because they can have pesticides on them. Great video!

If I could encourage people to use Russbe reusable plastic bags. I thru hike and I use them and use them and use them, u get the idea; there's less plastic in the environment and less cost period.

I'm gonna go for it starting tomorrow morning. I've always been able to lose weight with diet and exercise but now that I'm 51 it's just not working like it did in the past. I've been eating 1450 calories a day and 30 minutes of exercise a day almost every day, and I've just been maintaining my weight now that my body has changed, I'm not losing now. I need to loose about 30 pounds. But I'm afraid to NOT count calories. I'll eat the stuff you're recommending of course, you're a healthcare professional who understands menopause, you and your program have been the missing link for me and I'm so happy I came across your videos! But I'm afraid I'll eat too much, cuz I like to eat LOL and then I won't lose. Should I just count 1450 calories of the types of foods you're sharing with us here? Because I'm afraid if I don't count I'll get too loosey-goosey and I won't lose. Cuz I can put away some nuts and avocados LOL
