Lovely reminder to be conscious and aware. Recalling such a moment when on a crisp frosty morning in Ireland. Overwhelming grief took me walking hoping for some relief. Suddenly as the sun shone on a singing bird, presence brought momentary relief from the pain of grief. 🙏

In 1984/85, I remember attending one of JK's lectures at Greenways Road, Chennai. I was just about 17 and didn't follow anything. I went because my father asked me to. Forty years later I am happy to be in JK's Presence, thanks to our dear Eckhart.
    🙏🙏

It would be such a lovely thing to have Eckhart read a children's book once a month. The stillness he brings adds so much beauty to what he is saying in addition to inspiring contentment. Such an important state of consciousness for young ones to cultivate.

Lying in bed the other morning I felt my Dad's essence sounds crazy but I'm serious I woke out of sleep and I knew it was my Father I'm fully aware ❤

Beyond experience, beyond feeling, beyond thought, that is to say REALITY.
So mysterious, so distant, so simple, so close, so unattainable, so TRUE.
    SO grateful 💓🙏✨

Alert stillness = being present.... To see and to hear without (mind's cross eyed) interpreting is a bliss.... ❣

Being fully present is one of the most challenging things we can do. It requires us to be alert and aware in the moment without letting past hurts, future worries or anything else creeps in.
You may feel like you aren't always fully present; however, even if you don't feel entirely in the moment, you are still there!

Stillness is powerful. “Being still is like replenishing the stores. It allows us time and space.” It gives us time and space to self-reflect and actually hear our thoughts.
It also soothes our nervous system.
“ Stillness produces the anti-stress fix by allowing us some chill time without totally checking out and being numb to our experience. ”

      How to practice stillness
Here are several insights and suggestions on practicing stillness:
      1. Breathe
Taking slow, deep breaths induces the parasympathetic system and slows your heart rate, Lawson said.
      2. Practice when you need it
Practices stillness anywhere, “when the moment hits me regardless of where I am.”
Sometimes, practice in the office in the middle of the day. locks the door and puts up a “do not disturb” sign, taking a few minutes for yourself.
“This allows my workspace to not only represent the hustle and bustle of work, but now when I enter my office I also have calming, relaxing experiences to draw from and remember.”
      3. Schedule stillness
If you aren’t creating stillness spontaneously, try to schedule it and keep this time sacred, she said. Or set an alarm on your phone.
“Make it a priority and let others know in your life so that they can honor this time you are setting aside for yourself.”
      4. Find a favorite spot
Again, you can experience stillness anywhere. But it can help to start at a favorite place. This might be outdoors, such as a park or bench, or at home, in complete silence, she said.
      5. Listen to soft music
Sometimes, people are afraid of being alone with their thoughts. This is when creating more structure is helpful. One way is by listening to soft, slow music. Music is also great when silence becomes deafening.
      6. Repeat calming phrases
Repeating calming phrases can give your stillness structure. shared these examples:
“ I am calm and still.”
      “ I can create stillness.”

in my experience, and it seems many others, the southern cross is significant, which seemed to be the ending note of his experience. I like that he was afraid to move, and that his stillness was terribly potent, destructively alive and allowed that to be.

I struggle sometimes with the definitions. But I think "alert" means wakeful or awake. Like that feeling you get when opening your eyes and looking around at things.

The teaching is same, be it ET or advaita or buddha. It is just different words to express the inexpressible

    • @KoyomiMojo
      @KoyomiMojo ปีที่แล้ว

It's because you are interpreting. He gives it straight.
Sadhguru talks about this very topic, and he says; "Saints are mystics which use poetry to describe the nature of reality, while a yogi provides a scientific understanding."
It's not an exact quote, but is practically.
