I just had a great tour of JD in Lynchburg…. Tour guide was great. He explained the single barrel so well. If that was a top of a store house, means that barrel got hotter in the summer, and colder in the winter, a lot more interaction with the wood barrel.
It might not be the best whiskey for the money, but I love the Single Barrel as a sipper - that oaky and organic flavor does it for me. I grew out of the Old No. 7, but it's a decent whiskey.
I been a single barrel fan for a long time I do think it's worth the extra mony for the enjoyment, but I also am very picky with flavors too an I insist the barrel select is the best
Agreed I think JD Single Barrel is an excellent choice in its price range of about $50, and is worth every penny as it’s actually one of my favorite whiskeys to sip on. I’ve noticed in comparison to no. 7 it has a much less waxy/oily mouth feel and also has a lot more depth in flavor and a much better finish. I find the difference is so significance I would even recommend that those who don’t typically like Jack Daniel’s black label to at least give Single Barrel a try. I find splash of water or ice is essential to tone down the alcohol bite, then it is perfect but I personally would not skip this step.
@@alpscarlett8897You can’t compare single malt Scotch with ”bourbons”…. They are from different worlds. You can appreciate both but please don’t compare them.🙏🏻

I love my Jack Daniels Old N7 but it's very expensive here, so I get Jim Beam a lot more often. To me, Old N7 smells and tastes a bit like maple syrup! Oak as well, a bit peppery and that lovable thing like fruity chewing gum. I take my time to sip it, and then with ginger ale I call it Gingerjack awesome drink. Thanks Shayla!

Hey, Jack Daniels cooperage worker here, the single barrel has a special lottery type twist to it. So, the barrels age for 4 years in a warehouse, but depending on where the barrel was stored (near the top or lower levels of the warehouse) it will have a varying intensity, getting a good bottle of single barrel is some really good Shit to enjoy. Single barrel is certainly the best whiskey we offer.
I actually like the Gnetleman more then the regular old no.7. I usually drink single malt though. I've had Blanton's single barrel and it was really good
Nice lineup comparison of the Jack Daniel's core range! Always enjoyed Old No. 7 with Coke, but I find the Jack Daniel's SBBP to be an exceptional sipper. Cheers to your continued success!
They can aged the single barrel for as long as they want. But unless it has an age statement or some dates on the back you won't know for sure. :) Russels reserve single barrels will have dates on the back :)

Place this on a shelf AND charge you more money for it. You lnow tbe old saying about a sucker born right?

When a whisky doesn't have an age statement, we call it a NAS or Non-Age stated whisky. There are scotches that do this as well; Tomatin Legacy/Duchas, for example, is a NAS scotch. But all scotch must be at least 3 yrs old to be classified as a Scotch. Similarly, with Bourbon, you have NAS Whiskies. If a Bourbon says straight, it has been aged at least two years; if it says Bottled in bond, it has been aged at least four years. You do have Bourbons that carry an age statement like Eagle Rare says aged for 10 yrs on the back, Elijah Craig Barrel proof says on the side that it's aged 12 yrs, and then you have bottles that will say directly on the front of the label how old they are Like Russels Reserve 10yr or Knob Creek 12yr. Scotch is usually aged for longer because of the climate in Scotland, and they most often will use ex-bourbon barrels which are less active than a new charred oak barrel which is required for Bourbon :) I hope this helps. You can always email me if you have more questions.

@@enniopelliccia3844 You will have it in your brain quickly! :) Bourbon is not colored so they will not say non-colored on the bottle usually. For scotch, it's always the best bet to go with non-colored and non-chill filtered. But NAS Scotches can be really good! It's nice to have an age statement but I would rather have a Glen Scotia Victoriana over a standard bottle that is 40% but carries an age statement. It's a safer bet with the age but try to get things that are 46% abv and above. You can pretty much guarantee they aren't chill-filtered and will have more flavor and texture :)
