    This scoring system strikes again. Between that and the blinds, I am LOVING this new format. This is exactly how I’ve felt about jack without being able to articulate it

    Jack Daniels, the perfectly average whiskey that is good enough to drink on its own, yet cheap and available enough to use for any mixing. Always have a bottle on hand because it is so versatile.

    • @Brandenuzis
      @Brandenuzis ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Right. I’ve had worse whiskey that was 3x the price of jack. Not to mention how amazing the triple mash and others is with damn near the same price tag.

    ~53 is where I'd rank it. You can get this anywhere in the world. I think you'd be surprised how many USA whiskeys you can get all over the world, I recently got a bottle of Knob Creek 9 here in Croatia. Love your energy, subscribed.

    I think you hit the nail on the head with this one. I have never tried any other bourbon/whiskey that I actually enjoyed as much as I enjoy JD old no.7. I drink it neat. Don't care to mix it with anything. I do enjoy it with a good cigar like a gran habano corojo no.5. Subbed and thank you for the review.

    I had Jack Daniels years ago and hated it. But I wasn’t a regular consumer of whiskey at the time. This video convinced me to go get a bottle on my next run to the liquor store. I really like Maker’s Mark 46, but I also want a hood cheap mixer or something to knock back a couple of shots on some random Tuesday afternoon.

    Charcoal filtering doesn't "add" flavor per se, it removes some of the chemicals found in young, whiskey. So technically, they are adding flavor by removing chemicals and that technically makes it a bourbon.

    Jack, until recently, the only whiskey I like straight. I'm a novice to whiskey, so it's strong for me, but I like seeing it from the view of a whiskey aficionado. Strangely, I like jack but not bourbon, despite being made a similar way

      I agree. I like 0ld #7 the best, got their bourbon just once, had one drink, and gave the rest away. to me, bourbon just doesn't do it. I love that beautiful warm bloom you get when JD hits the bottom of your gut.

    What made me a Jack Daniels fan was when I paired it with charcoal grilled burgers. The charcoal filtering really came our with those burgers. From that point on, every time I drink JD I get charcoal, which I love.

    Sometimes I am sad that I'll never get to enjoy drinking with my dad.
    He gave up drinking when I was about 10 because he had a real heavy drinking problem and surely would not be around today if he kept going.
    He is now dry for almost 9 years but I realy whish I could just have some beer or Whisky with my old man and just have some drunk conversations because I imagine it to be a really nice experiance.
    BTW I am from Germany thats why I can drink at this age

  • @TaylorAmes
    @TaylorAmes ปีที่แล้ว

    Jack Daniels was the 5th, 6th, and 7th whiskey I've tried. The first one I tried was Gentleman Jack which was very underwhelming. The 2nd was the Single Barrel Select which absolutely blasted me with a char flavor that was too distracting for me to enjoy it, even when I mixed it with coke. The 3rd was No7 which was definitely more tame than the SBS (and was delicious with coke, go figure), but the char flavor/smell was still too distracting to enjoy it neat or over ice.
    In case anyone is curious, my experience with whiskey up to this point has been J. Reiger Kansas City Whiskey (Kansas Native, had to be my first. I'm not including the awful sip of Orange Jameson I had), Willett Pot Still Reserve bourbon, Wild Turkey 101 bourbon, and Old Forester Statesman bourbon (Went to the store looking for Old Forester 86, but Statesman had a cooler label).

  • @G3T_R3KT_XM8
    @G3T_R3KT_XM8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Jack Daniel's clearly stats on the bottle that it's whiskey not bourbon! So bourbon is a type of whiskey that’s made from at least 51% corn and aged in new charred oak barrels, while whiskey can be made from any grain and aged in any type of wood barrel.

  • @superpheemy

    Added note: Jack Daniels actually made their bottle that shape to make it harder for others to sell their product by slapping another name on it. Also people would add the Jack name to a random bottle and it be total hog wash, so that protects their name as well.

    Hi i know this is an old video but i believe you should have value at a far higher %. The cost of a product plays the biggest role in a average consumers choice, especially with the price of alcohol these days. The average person isn't going to casually and consistently drop $250 on a bottle of whiskey just because its a little more fancy or complex.

    I don't think the association with people like Sinatra and The Rolling Stones can be overstated. Since most people drink when underage as an act of rebellion, Jack Daniels being associated with celebrities who essentially answer to no one is far more important than whatever is or isn't in the bottle.

    It's a bourbon. Filtering it through sugar maple charcoal doesn't add flavor or smoothness. It is smooth because it is 80 proof. Jason C from Mash and Drum did a great video about it too. JD is such a bourbon....just like Angel's finished in port wine casks or Makers with the stave finishes.

    Its definitely bourbon. They dont want to be called bourbon because it helps their marketing. The lincoln county process is subtractive not additive, and there are kentucky bourbons that use the lincoln county process. Not to mention that there are the master distillers of jack on camera stating that its bourbon. Nothing against the company, i love a lot of their whiskey.

    This dude can’t be trusted. He never talks bad about any huge brands unless they’re competitors with his sponsors. Jack daniels tastes like rotten fruit. Rotten bananas. Bitter cheap tasting. It tastes soulless like it was made in a huge factory. No doubt they use pure gmo corn and grains to make it and the mash is too sour. Tastes like the cheapest corporate moonshine ever has been aged in artificially enhanced flavored dollar store barrels. Anyone who says otherwise is just looking to not piss off the audience. Be honest and just tell people it tastes like piss. Like you said it’s freakin everywhere. When something is that popular they ALWAYS cut corners. Especially when they don’t follow bourbon regulations. The whole thing just seems like a marketing campaign the elite came up with to poison the south. I wouldn’t be suprised if there’s a bunch of chemicals in it that cause low testosterone like all those beer brands. If you don’t trust beef at McDonald’s then you shouldn’t trust JD. Don’t fall for the movie and music industry propaganda. If they had their way everyone would drink great value everclear and expired Paul malls with no filter.
