I grabbed Hagane from Gamestop for $5.99 back in 2005, a few months before they stopped carrying SNES games here. The only one on this list that I own. Now that I have the Turrican Anthology collections, I'll be selling my boxed Super Turrican 2 soon... which I know isn't on this list, but IS up there.
There’s some cool looking ones in that top tier SNES list for sure. Hagane looks pretty cool and is one I’d like to check out. Great video man, really well done!
Thank you for the kind words! These Top Tens take a lot of time to get together. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the games overall. Probably going to end up, at the very least, picking up Earthbound one day.
Part of the reason SNES games are so expensive is just not because of their low supply but because a lot of those lower print runs are pretty good games! The top 10 is 8/10 for good games.
I love the snes. Best console and my favourite portion of my collection. The controller, the music capabilities and mode7 sure defeated sega in the console wars.
#3 Metal Warriors is very similar to a game called Cybernator (Assault Suits Valken). It is also a very good game at a cheaper price. A hidden gem, in my opinion.
While researching for this video, I encountered people making the comparison between Metal Warriors and Cybernator and I am very interested in checking it out. It sounds pretty good. I will definitely play that very soon. Thank you for watching and for the comment!
I had the same exact kind of exposure and perspective of the Mega Man series. I'm aware it's an amazing series, but it has always been off my radar. I'll probably play it again at some point, but it's one of those franchises that has to have a rewind feature for it to be playable for me, lol.
The Nes Mega Mans and SNES Mega Man X's aren't that bad / hard, they just require a little pattern recognition. They are fair difficult, like Zelda 2 (The adventure of Link). They are fun and enjoyable. They just need a little practice. The unfairly difficult games are the ones like the NES Ninja Gaidens which are infinitely spawning edge of screen enemies, cheap shoting, rage induced screaming and controller throwing catastrophes.
I was not expecting to have any of the top ten, but I did have the first (and cheapest) two. I paid a pretty penny for Earthboind in 2016, like $185 or so. I picked up Mega Man X3 for $5 or $10 from a flea market many years ago. I wish I had Mega Man 7, actually.
Ahh Hollywood Video, good memories. I have a copy of Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow that still has the Hollywood Video sticker on the back. I don't remember if I bought it there or just forgot to return it haha
Hagane is really good. I'd definitely recommend trying it out. I don't know that I'd ever pay any of these prices for video games, but I can dream about finding some of these for much cheaper one day... It won't happen, but I can dream!!!
Those are all great games (well, except for that dinosaur one). I managed to get Metal Warriors either from a rental store or a retro store that bought it from a rental store most likely for $20. One really cool thing about that game is that is has 2 player Vs. mode. I rented Earthbound and was so close to beating it. I guess I have to finish it one day on the SNES classic or Switch online. Still kicking myself for not buying Earthbound new CIBB (Complete in big box) for $20.
Wow. I'd be kicking myself for passing that up too! Haha. I did mean to mention the 2-player mode, but it slipped my mind. I haven't gotten to try it out yet, but it sounds like it would be fun. This list did end up being a pretty awesome and quality group of games and I had a blast playing them all. Thanks for watching!
I've got Earthbound but dang I was hoping EVO: The Search for Eden was gonna be on there. I got it for 280$ but I've seen it as high as 400$ before. But hey honestly I thought that The Hurricanes game looked pretty good. Barely remember the cartoon but the sprites looked pretty good and I liked the music on that level
I have never played EVO, but I know that I've heard some people that absolutely love it. I will definitely check it out one day. It looks like it is still a pretty pricy game, but it just wasn't in the top ten when I got the data from Pricecharting. The Hurricanes was much better than I was expecting, but it just didn't quite jive with me. Not a bad game, though, by any means, and I'm sure there are a lot of people who would really enjoy it.
@@AggieThunderpaw I hope you get the chance to play EVO, it can be a little grindy but it's just a unique premise and I love how it blends science and mysticism, really lovely vibe
There are a lot of options these days for playing SNES games. I picked up a Retron 5 a couple of years ago so I could start picking up retro carts and I have been having a blast doing so.
I have Final Fight Guy in pretty good condition, it plays well without problem but I got it for 20 $$ CDN only, it could be a bootleg or just another reproduced, I don't think that it was a bootleg, I played it inside out and it had not any problem at all,... Not many would sell a legit copy of Final Fight Guy for that cheap, if it really is a legit, and bought it for that line of price, clearly whoever sold it probably had no idea of that game's value... I also got Megaman X3, Metal Warrior and Earthbound, it's still painful on my wallet, but I'm surprised you don't have Castlevania Dracula X on your list....
17:10 Of course, we all know fine well the system is more than powerful enough to feature all three characters*, which makes it even more frustrating that Capcom utterly dropped the ball here. >:-( *On kinda that note, have you seen/played MaxwelSeven's optimized version of Final Fight 3 that now runs at a steady 60fps and even reduces the forced blank bars at the top/bottom of the screen ever so slightly too?
I don't think he was intentionally trying to pledge allegiance to the prince of darkness or anything like that, lol. Probably would of been a little more cryptic if that was the case 😅
Haha. When I record the video for these lists, I just do something at random for the numbers and never really know what I'm going to do before I do it. I have a lot of fun with just making up something silly for the numbers off the cuff. I guess I'm most worried that whatever comes out will be annoying to the audience. Thanks for watching!

A spin-off from shoot 'em ups.

Blast Processor vs Mode 7, it's a wonderful console with so many games of all shapes and sizes....
The most expensive SNES game was the friends we made along the way
Your friends should never be expensive to / for you. Unfortunately, you misunderstood people taking advantage of you as friends.
@@AndSaveAsManyAsYouCan I think they were just trying to refer to their friend's as being priceless.
@@SadVIad I can get on board with that.
Paul Rudd from snes commercial to avengers and ant man man has come a long way

Nice job with this one dude! 🤙🏻🍻
Thanks, man! I had a lot of fun with this one! I was a Genesis kid, so finally really digging into the SNES library is tons of fun.

I have made it a goal to try and make it through the NES games in the next year and then go from there. Not gonna lie; a bit scared… 😛

Honestly surprised some other games, like Castlevania Dracula X are not on here.
I've got two of them Mega Man X3 bought for around $10 from Hollywood Video, and Final Fight Guy found in a $10 box of of SNES games at a yard sale
