Here on my channel I share my journey, topics for adoptees, my vlogs, and support for others adopted, including their stories and journeys with my An Adoption Story series.
As a Russian-New Zealand adoptee, adopted at the age of two from an orphanage in Arkhangelsk, Russia, I share what I've been learning on my journey with my upbringing here in New Zealand, my current life, and how I connected with my birth family. I also share what my bloodline means for me with those connections from Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan.

Your birth mother's story tugs at my heartstrings. She was given so few advantages and so little help, in a very hostile world. It is so sweet to see you giving her the extra latitude for that. I would like to hug her myself.
Dearest Alex, I believe your birth Mom had a hole filled in her heart when she met you. The relief of knowing that your adoptive parents gave you a fabulous start in life must be overwhelming. Thank you for responding to all of this with love. ❤

Alex, have followed your story from the start. Tatiana had probably never known real love in her young life, until you found her; it's in her heart now when she looks at you. And she has become more demonstrative than before. ❤
Sasha, you continue to show your great heart. Your mom was in an orphanage system that tried to do right by its children generally. The institutional caregivers I met in Omsk and in Moscow cared deeply about the children under their care. But there weren't enough of them, and it's one of the lowest paying jobs around. The children grow up without family, so have no idea what it means to be in a family. Your non-judgmental attitude shows you to be an old soul with wisdom beyond your years. Don't listen to the naysayers, just keep blessing your mother with your presence whether in person or through social media. У тебя действительно доброе сердце.

Your birthmother is the way she is for a number of reasons and it is not difficult to understand and respect her. I bet she is both happy and proud to have you in her life, one way or another, and she deals with it her way.

Alex, I am American. I came to the USA 🇺🇸 as a child, immigrated with my parents from the Soviet Union. I have always wanted to go back and adopt. I don’t have Russian citizenship. But I have a Russian soul, like you. You have an “old” soul. And your story, your desire to make sense of your family upline, keep connecting w your birth parents is really inspiring.

Please ring me up. I’d love for you to talk about how adoption change your life. More people need to know importance of adoption. As you can see w your mom’s life choices, orphans in Russia who never her adopted never really become successful adults. If they make it past 40 it’s a miracle. If they avoid drugs, alcoholism, prostitution it’s also a miracle.
More people need to learn about importance of adopting and being open to adopting.

In one way, you are “parenting” Tatiana - by providing the experience of family love and connection, which orphanages really can’t do well.

She was so pretty
Birth mom being an orphan herself, learning all important things about life in an orphanage was not taught how to love, care and did not have anyone loving and caring for her. My best friends mom is from an orphanage too, the same story. Orphanage children just never saw or experience warm and close family interactions, they don't know how to perform them. It's very wise from Alex to take his birth mom as she is. Warm, open, caring child is something very new for Tatiana in her 40s or 50s. We don't change at that age. It's just what it is. It would be better for Tatiana to live closer to Alex because I don't see anyone in the world who would care for her in her elderly years. But it doesn't look like she would ever leave her invironment.

I've been following since you first went to Russia - amazing progress, you inspire many across the globe. You have amazing adopted parents who taught you how to love and live your passion. Your birth parents are amazing people who embrace you the best way they can, but more importantly they appreciate your adopted parents, your birth parents are not absent of love. I love watching this channel - thank you for sharing your journey.

Don't forget to look into the political aspects of your mother's and Grandmother's upbringing. That also plays a big part in family life. Communism as I understand it was treating humans as machines and family life took a back seat to the government, as well as keeping people in poverty except a select few. As far back as the sixties I heard stories of the deplorable conditions of orphanages and the neglect of babies to "toughen"them up.
Let your mother know through you she's loved the world over.♥️

As with any political system, it's always leaning towards what ever those in power want you to know about the other side. I'm glad you had a happy up bringing. I was very upset by the way Black's were treated in the late fifties and early sixties. That's why I watch the BBC, national news and DW news so I can get a better rounded view.

Alex, I've noticed how your birth Mother seems less withdrawn with you than when you first met her. I'm sure growing up in an Orphanage, she could never trust people or learn how to love. She seems closer to you now ❤
The one who said to leave your mother alone ...living her own life is an idiot... Abandoning her would be a sacrilege. She needs you more than anyone would ever understand. For the rest of her life..be there/Always/no regret but ❤️. 😉
