- Found this Forge muffler delete part for super cheap on Facebook so I ended up buying it and installing it. This was a solo project since it was such a small space to work with. Didn't help that it was the hottest day of the week but we got it done.

I was already in "down thumb" mode... but the "beer crack to solve the problem" a couple minutes in won me over. That has solved a few "can't reach it" issues for me!

Pull the battery, battery tray, and charge pipe out before working back there. Its too late to tell you, since you already done the part swap.
Was going to do this to my 70 plate 290 cupra but no way im doing it now! Props for the commitment but bro👏🏻👍🏻, noise wise “definitely “ not worth it and that’s the whole point I suppose because any gain will be v v marginal, but your intake and bov sound amazing 😱👍🏻.
It’s all a learning process and I’m more than happy if it helps with deciding whether or not to go through with it. I thought I was gonna get a huge sound difference but it was very minimal. I’m glad I bought it used and not new and thank you 🙏🏽 I’m very happy with my intake and BOV. Makes the car a lot more fun to drive!
Man I did some of the boost piping and when I got to the throttle body hose I got my ass kicked. Had cuts and bruises all over my hands and all up and down my arms. Shit was no joke. That hose took the longest by far.
Man oh man! That thing was a pain in the ass to take out 😭 the amount of room for your hands to work in is so limiting. I thought it was just gonna slip out but damn the angle to get in there and get it out is crazy!
@@jaguardeoaxaca i had to have my lady friend help me cuz she has tiny hands. Thank God she did car stuff with her dad growing up. Without her I would've had to get it towed. Lol
😂😂 damn I need a lady friend that knows how to work with tools too. Make all these hard to reach parts easy to install 👍🏽
@@jaguardeoaxaca for real! I didn't have nearly the trouble working on my old 20 valve then I do on this new gti. I remember there being a lot more room to fit my hands in my old 1.8t jetta.

That noise is from his BOV. People do BOV’s exclusively for the noise. They leak boost but sound better. For performance you’re better off going with a DV rather than BOV. Couldn’t hear a difference in his video because of the BOV tho which sucks
Same with the Tutututu noise. Just dont fit on a new prestigious lookin GTI/R in my op. More fitting on muscle cars.
Stock turbo muffler delete? You mean the stock turbo muffler lol? Since it has a muffler on it and the forge is "deleting" the muffler. Anyways.....good content! 👍 love the channel!

it sounds real good, but i feel like if it would get annoying after a while. idk if it less loud in the cabin tho
Not as loud in the cabin. I also got rid of the blow off valve and it sounds completely different. The BOV really masked the turbo sounds
Do you notice any vibration when accelerating after installing it? I do on my Audi 1.8, but I wonder if it's from the torque mount insert. I did them at the same time, along with a turbo inlet pipe.
No I haven’t. Luckily everything has been running smooth and CEL or anything like that. Might be the mount insert if it’s vibrating 🤔
The vibration is definitely from your mount insert, perfectly normal.
Why get a BOV😭should of gotten an upgraded Diverter valve
Good question. I wish I had a better answer for this but after watching videos and reading on it, it seemed like the BOV was the better option with less problems regarding performance. Even though it’s just for the sound 😂 but everyone has their preference and the options are there. Hope this sort of answers it lol
Edwin Cruz they are not less problematic in any way, yes diaphragm versions like the r1 are less maintenance than a piston. But don’t buy cheap crap and it’ll perform how it should. As to op I run a go fast bits DV on my s3 8v

not worth the hard install for the subtle difference in noise
I kind of agree and here is why. There is some baby gains in performance which ECS has dyno’d and shown, but it’s very minimal. Buying it at full price and paying someone to install it, I wouldn’t do it. If you can get it for super cheap and install it yourself, then I say go for it.

@@jaguardeoaxaca yes! A dyno can have a pretty good margin of error. Like a 10-15 hp variation between dynos is not uncommon. I've read that mustang dynos are quite accurate though.

Yo, whats that thing you mentioned that made a sucking air noise when you start it.?
It’s the secondary air injection hose. It’s plugged into the stock intake and it becomes a separate piece with a filter when you install an aftermarket intake. Hope this helps
Do you have a blow off valve as well? Or is that the air intake that lets off that much turbo sound?
I have a blow off valve as well but the sound is a bit different than the turbo noises. The BOV sounds more like a hiss vs the turbo which flutters. If it helps I have another video where the mic is closer to the BOV where the sound is more distinct.

Definitely! It’s hardly noticeable. I think the difference would be more audible if I didn’t have the BOV.

It’s an APR intake and most likely what you’re hearing (tssssuu) is the Forge BOV

I hear a deeper sound on acceleration and the blow off is louder.

Brand new I wouldn’t purchase it but since I bought it used for $50, I’m happy with it 👍🏽

@@jaguardeoaxaca I bought this particular bov for the flutter sound,but honestly I find a dv dummy plug does the same thing,maybe with very MINOR spool down flying through gears.

@@jaguardeoaxaca I've only ever had my car on a dyno once, and it was prior to my bov unfortunately.
I really like this bov sound,however I don't think it made much of a difference.
These motors pull so much torque right around 2k rpm's that it has a particular power band,at least to me,and I didn't seem to notice any difference after the bov,it was my last mod
I'm thinking suspension next,the car has good enough power. For me it's perfect

@@aminkhan1292 if it’s a blow off valve then it should but depending on the brand you can have more or less noise as well build quality affecting your car causing a check engine light
