Guys this is a fabulous Medieval house and its interesting that its said to be one of the most important in England. Loved the table in the banqueting hall and the state bedroom with the snooker/ pool table 😃 The windows are lovely and its great that there are original features still there in the kitchens . The gardens were beautiful too with all of the lovely views. Lovely explained tour as always with lots of info ~ Anna ❤

Aside: I wonder if you two know that, on 20 May, 1636, Grace (Lady Manners) founded "Lady Manners School"; not surprisingly, it is situated - as with Haddon Hall - near Bakewell. The school has had a few sites over the years; but, since 20 May(!), 1936, the exact location has remained unchanged. Anyway, for people in my area - as I think you know by now, I don't live a million miles away from Bakewell(!) - "Lady Manners School" is a familiar - and respected - name. But now, finally(!)... onto your video... Bach's Brandenburg Concerto: beautiful and fitting - matches the mood of the place - choice of music! House: Thought: Why have I never visited Haddon Hall...? I think I've said this before, but my omission needs to be rectified. (I mean... I've been to Chatsworth House on a number of occasions...) 0:40-1:03: Hmm... sometimes, leaving well alone can be a good thing! 1:58-2:07: Never realised you needed special permission to build a protective (castle-like) wall... 2:22-3:20: A heartwarming tale.💖(No wonder it's had so many incarnations!) Hey - how about you two re-enacting it for us one day?! 'Should be good...!' 3:20-3:29/4:40-4:48: Great tapestries! 3:45-4:01: Easily beats "The Long Room" at Lords! 4:13-4:35: Dare I say(?): 'Well done for leaving!' 4:15: I know the piano was invented around the year 1700, but is that a harpsichord, as opposed to a piano? Good morning Phil no we hadn't heard of it before. For us The Manners family are more associated with Belvoir Castle which is near to us. We didn't know of their connections to Hadfon Hall and the area around there until we visited here. This is a Historic House property so you get free entry with your annual membership. Interestingly Belvoir Castle is also a HH property. It's similar to NT although the houses tend to still be owned/lived in by the families. Aside: I wonder if you two know that, on 20 May, 1636, Grace (Lady Manners) founded "Lady Manners School"; not surprisingly, it is situated - as with Haddon Hall - near Bakewell. The school has had a few sites over the years; but, since 20 May(!), 1936, the exact location has remained unchanged.
Anyway, for people in my area - as I think you know by now, I don't live a million miles away from Bakewell(!) - "Lady Manners School" is a familiar - and respected - name.

Good morning Phil no we hadn't heard of it before. For us The Manners family are more associated with Belvoir Castle which is near to us. We didn't know of their connections to Hadfon Hall and the area around there until we visited here. This is a Historic House property so you get free entry with your annual membership. Interestingly Belvoir Castle is also a HH property. It's similar to NT although the houses tend to still be owned/lived in by the families.
