i finally had time to watch this episode and it is simply stunning to see a descendant from a 1100 years old famous family that had such impact on history of France, walking us through one of their castles. It gave me chills. I would love to see more about this family and their other chateaus.

Fascinating. My ancestors were from what was the Bourbon Kingdom of the Two Scillies. My ancestors served royal households from 1725 (prior history currently unknown) through 1861, in Naples and Caserta, ending with my Great Grandfather, in the Royal Guards.

Charles-Henri de Lobkowicz- Sir, what a fascinating tour of Château de Bostz. Besson is a beautiful area. Please consider presenting a second part.. Tour #2 would be just as intriguing. I am so anticipating traveling again and returning to France. Thank you for allowing the audience to follow you through the history of your family. I felt your love of your family and pride in restoring the area's economy. You are so correct in stating that in today's society the family's security is based on the economy. That is the essence of stability. Again, thank you and please present a second session. Plus, if possible, could you present information from your mother, Princess Edouard de Lobkowicz (Princess Marie-Françoise of Bourbon-Parma). I loved the report that you purchased her tiara before it was sold by Sotheby's. What a lovely act. Best wishes for the future.

Fascinating heritage. Good to see that you are attempting to personally preserve your family’s history in the modern age. The current wave of Chateau entertainment may have historically accurate information however you have the bloodline and interest to tell the living history of your family. Thanks you for bringing it to life in modern times and I hope you are able to continue preserving you literal real estate and your heritage for current and future generations of your family. Hats off to you for your efforts as well as for sharing your family and your knowledge. Marjorie from Georgia US

Several groups of people are restoring Châteaux and it’s a more interesting version of a DIY show. They show in detail about how different sections of the castles were built and connect to history.

In the meantime Americans are tearing down statues and anything they don’t like. It would be like the Italians tearing down all their statues and even the colosseum all because the Romans once had slaves. These people are destroying history for no reason at all.

    • @rowenacountryman2242
      @rowenacountryman2242 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

@@scottinnh88 I am trying to remember my history but didn’t the German behead all statues of the royal family. It sad when new generation’s destroy our history because of their lack of education about history. I am a simple 51 year old from Florida who sees United States making the same mistakes that European history show time and time again. If you don’t like your present destroy, destroy, destroy. It’s sad that we as Americans don’t see the value of history. Time and time again I see this mentality of if you vandalize and destroy historical monuments it will give you a short term of satisfaction only to prove your emptiness is never satisfied. As Americans we are so afraid of our past that it prevents us from being better people. Destroying our history means that we never grow from our mistakes.
We have become so use to instant gratification that we can’t see the forest among the trees. We think that by being newer, more technical, more “woke”, that it automatically makes us smarter then the guy sitting next to us when we should actually be basking in the glory of or common goal to make life easier. This generation is no different from many of hundreds of years before who believes they know what is best to make the world a better place for all.
We make the same mistakes time and time again of allowing our pride to outweigh our good sense of humanity. Sadly this will be a lesson we will have to learn time and time again because we as humans our biggest fault is not only our pride but our need to think that we always know what is best. We refuse to admit our faults therefore we constantly sabotage our lives over and over again.
I really wished that after 50 years plus years on this planet I would see some form of growth but sadly even with all the advancements we have made in the last 100+ years we still have NEVER EVER EVER NEVER EVER AND I MEAN EVER have learned from ANY of our mistakes.
I try hard to teach my adult children and young grandchildren that you have to do your absolute best to become productive citizens in a world where lazy people are ok with mediocrity and few see the values in hard work and determination. If you have little thoughts of yourself how can you possibly enhance any real and useful knowledge to the next generation. We in the last 5 years across the world have become not only an embarrassment but neglect in the knowledge we are supposed to passing on to our young because? What? We are too busy to be bothered. We are treading water and therefore can’t save anyone when we know full well we just don give a damn about nobody.
Until we learn to help each other we will never be better than yesterday.

Thank you so much for inviting us into your beautiful chateau and teaching us about your fascinating history! How wonderful it must be to know your heritage to the extent that you do going back centuries. Preservation and restoration is the most respectful thing one can do to ensure this fascinating history does not just disappear. I’ve seen some beautiful chateaus which have been abandoned that are explored by some very respectful young people who take us along on their explores. It is so sad how so many of these gorgeous places are just left to ruin some even have so much beautiful antique furniture that is moldy and just left to decay it just unbelievable to see that people just walked away leaving these beautiful things to rot over time.
Thank God for someone like you who is working hard to make sure these grand places of history are preserved and not forgotten through time!

Am so honored to meet you if only through the vlog. ''Thank you'' for this tour of 'Chateau de Bostz.' Would love to see it in person, but it would be impossible. This is just so lovely to have such a wonderful heritage and to know so much about your ancestors! My father was named Charles * he has passed* and my brother as well. Also in the family, we do have a Hendrick. Is not quite Henri, but close. lol
This is such a wonderful Chateau and certainly does have a comfortable vibe to it. Everything is well suited as it is now. Grand to have your whole family able to visit and that alone is what life is really all about!
Now you will have more Chateaus and not only opening all of them up and able to begin new business and notoriety to the area in which being the background reason it exists, really makes such sense and it just needs to happen, I feel too! Hope to be able to follow some of the growth! Many people will be employed as well in this way. Tour guides and so much more will be needed. So much behind the scenes must be done when organizing this. I know you are certainly more than able, of course with all the years of experience and education to know exactly how! "Many hands make light work" though too. So with others helping with all the different homes, all will come together so nicely given time.
I know the Royals married into their families often and did take a wife or Queen or Princess or King, Prince etc. of another country. It helped, in the long run, to keep the money flowing in families and also to keep some wars at bay, hopefully.
I too have Italian, French and English some Dutch and German also, in my ancestry. I live in the U.S. of America and did not know about your area before, the Bourbonnais in the Bourbon region, of France but it truly sounds like an outstanding place to visit/live.

I pray you take care of your health .
How hard is it have a healthy air quality in this old castles .
      ??
I would say dehumidify , dehumidify , dehumidify systems of all kinds , and of course a good air cleaning system .I hear sinus issues , and possible immune health needs for you.
Please seek a naturopath doc ,when all else fails .
Stay healthy and pass your knowledge on to the next generations .
      Museums if possible
      God bless you and yours

I love your formal dish collection. As a Bourbon you can't borrow a few plates from the family's big home at Versailles? LoL. Great job, your family pride comes through.

Well done Prince Charles. I loves this presentation with one who is a descendant. The passion, the dedication. I watched an incredible documentary on his descendant Zita of the Otterman empire (captivating story) so him mentioning it captured my attention even more. May God bless you to complete your work & may future generations learn & carry it on
