I met Paul Big Show when I was sat next to him on a business flass flight from Sydney to Melbourne, Australia. Pure gentleman and down to earth human. Spoke of the stress wrestling takes on the personal life, being on the road and missing his family, but also loved wrestling. And yes, I was very cramped in my seat next to this legendary human.
I know he's a giant, but I find Paul Wight (Big Show) to be criminally underrated. Yes, his face/heel turns are a running gag and him crying is a little funny, but he's been really reliable in anything the WWE asked of him (good or bad). I'm still surprised that he joined AEW though.
Finally someone gets it. Big Show is easily the most underrated characters. He was the ultimate utility player able to accommodate whomever was across the ring. A feud with Big Show gave a rookie a push. If a heel needed to show power and dominance or a face needed to get over, they won against Show. He was able to be an enormous monster flipping over cars and yet he can pull off a comedy gimmick. He catches a lot of crap, but when he's needed, he delivers.
The feud he had with Kevin Nash in WCW was legendary. But the feud he had with a young Brock Lesnar in the ruthless aggression era was the best rivalry of his career.
Big Show, man with a Big heart and WWE treated him like garbage.. he was so underrated that the other wrestlers made fun of him and humiliating him on multiple occasions on TV.. also he lost almost every big match in favor of his opponent and he was not complaining, just done his part.. he has a great actor skills and I'm really happy for him, that he switch to AEW.. hopefully this home would be better for him and finally they start to treat him like he deserve..
I actually drove the big show from and back to the airport when I used to drive the Hilton shuttlevan. This was back in the early 2000s I believe when big show was clocking in right under 500 pounds. Let me just say that when you see him on TV amongst other giant men, it's nothing like being there in person as a regular dude next to this unimaginably massive life force. It was big show, chavo Guerrero and one other wrestler that I didn't recognize at the time. Chavo and the other guy got in the back of the Van and big show sat up front right next to me. when he got in the suspension sank as much or more than the other 2 guys entering combined. Seat slid back as far as possible of course and his chest when I looked over was probably 5" away from the dash.😐 His head is twice the size of some human's and his hands are as big as a normal sized male's head and probably weigh 3lbs each. Let me just say a presence like that right next to you is wild and unforgettable. Also big show was the only one who tipped me, he gave me $5 each time to and from the airport.
If by any chance he wins the AEW World Championship at some point , he'd be the first to win WCW , WWE Championship , World Heavyweight Championship , ECW Championship and the AEW Title , and that would be an unbeatable record. Also , he's the only one to hold the 4 aforementioned titles till date.
I have grown to appreciate the Big Show in recent years. Fans focus too much on his face/heel turns and less on his work inside and outside the ring. The Big Show is a true pro and he should receive more credit.
What a career. He dominated all 3 major wrestling companies; wcw, wwf, and ecw while beating the greatest wrestlers of all time for each company. I’d be bragging about that for life lol
So the big show won: -WCW championship -WWE championship -ECW championship -Tag team championship (wcw & wwe) -Intercontinental championship -US championship -Royal Rumble (technically) -Andre the giant battle royale ....man what a career
One of my favorite wrestlers of all time. I’ve watched big show since 2005 . Got to see my guy grow old and retire. Big Show was an exemplary big man, moved great, and proportionate with his size. He falls short only to Andre when it comes to impact of Giants.
What Big Show done in 2006 for the WWE was unbelivable. After RVD and Sabu fu*** up he became ECW Champion and pretty much tryed everything by himself for this ECW. At the same Time he replaced Khali at Smackdown's Great American Bash 2006, fought toghter with the McMahon's aginst DX in a Raw PPV. Then he had a Feud with John Cena and King Booker for Cypersunday and with RVD at ECW at the same Time. And then he was Captian at Survivor Series and showed up at Raw many Times, while at the same time let Lashley get over at ECW. All this in 5 Months. What a Legend for that run alone.
IMHO: He's second to Andre for being a big man. Above everyone else. Also, I don't think he underachieved as much as people say. In WCW he had to take a back seat to the NWO, and when he went to WWE, he was coming from WCW so they didn't want to push him above the talent they already had. He also sold for whoever they told him to. Great loyalty. Many great performances and a top notch hall of famer for sure!
Paul White the Big Show became a wrestling legend from the beginning remember this was both after Andre the Giant pass on and the Big Show became a legendary status not only holding the WWF/wwe title he also held the WCW title and held the ECW title legendary wrestler indeed !

Little-known trivia:
By the age of 12, Paul Wight had already made three heel turns.
Only 3?
He is the only man who has put over almost every young talent that has to offer in wwe
And turn heel and face more than any of those young talents combined

No he's not. Undertaker also made a point to put over many younger talents.

I've seen Big Show turn heel more than I've seen Ric Flair and Cena win titles.
More than Flair and Cena title wins combined

I heard show has already knocked out cody, joined the inner circle, chockslamed MJF and then joined team taz.
man with 973 heels
He took the Lex Luger approach. 25 turns lol
😂😂😂😂😂 love this title good one 😂😂😂
Hey he lost weight leave him alone about how many turns and heels he had. He had gigantism you fucks. 🤣 😂🙉
I still remember a friend way back when who "swore to god" that Giant / Big Show was Andre the Giant's son.
I used too also
Pretty sure wcw used to bill him as the son of andre
That was the word on the street back in the day.
Hahaha I def heard that growing up in the early 00s
haha when I was younger I I totally believed in the kayfabe💯👍🏴
His face is so heartfelt every time he wins a belt! 🥺
Big Show vs Sheamus was a low key awesome match.
